Making it up as you go along; making changes cos’ it doesn’t look quite right; and still producing a beautiful little painting for any occasion. You are such an inspiration.
For me, the best part of your videos is the way it's in real time. And when something doesn't work, you try something else! Thanks for making painting seem like some thing that should be an experiment and fun. Take care, I had four kids so I know how it is.😛
My heart leapt when i saw this painting! I’m a wanna be self taught watercolorist! In ‘91 i was in a beloved place in the mountains that I’d go quite often with my family, I always wanted to be there, I LOVED it, but could not go alone. I wasn’t about to brave the forest alone. That year they all had to leave much earlier than expected, and I did not want to go home in the summer heat. I was TERRIFIED to be there alone, but I didn’t want to leave. And just because I was unpartnered, I did not want to cheat myself of the opportunity to be there. I was so scared of the nights, and the dark. There were no lights, no conveniences. But I stayed. I was so scared of waking up and hearing creepy noises at night. I went to bed early and awoke during the night staring straight up thru the pines, at ✨, so many stars 🌟 ! I’d never seen that many alive, glorious stars. And as i lay, watching the vision goddess provided me with, i was gifted with the vision of a shooting star🌠 , first one than another, it was at a time of one of the glorious meteor showers. I knew nothing of them, but never forgot. I wished my camera was clothes so i could shoot them, and hoped that one day I’d paint this incredible vision. There were so many trees! I was shocked that I fell back to sleep so quickly. I stayed for 9 more nights, alone and perfectly comfortable, and i knew that one day I would paint that vision. I just did not realize I’d have to wait over 30 years! Thank you Emma
I love this. It would make the perfect Christmas card. Oh Holy Night comes to mind. Or It came Upon a Midnight Clear. It's amazing what you see away from the city lights, isn't it? I experienced that visiting my daughter in Montana. It's called "big sky country" for a reason! Thanks for sharing.
I painted with you for 2,5y now. Than you, you teach me a lot! I appllied in European art awards with my butterfly painting on hot press paper. IF you had time to just look at it, to know how asi aspiring you are. I am proud on my progress 😇❤ thank you
I love this picture, I just got back into water colors after a busy season, this I am doing tomorrow. You sound like me, sometime you gotta wing it. It reminded me of a text I got of a duck and it said, If I waited until I had all my ducks in a row, I’d never get across the street. Sometimes you just have to gather up what you’ve got and make a run for it.
Lol this comment is cute 💛 lots of big cities in Canada...my family does live in the wilderness though 😂 4 people on our street...on our unpaved street in the bush 😂🌲🌲🌲🌲
Emma you are so talented. I love your work and I love the way you share with everyone .Thanks so much for the night sky I love It. You are very special.🙏❤️❤️❤️ ..
I've just started watercolor painting and you are my go to for learning! I was scared to paint afraid I'd make a mistake and a lady friend that paints told me it's just paper don't give up! Now that I watch you, I'm not so scared of painting you're such a great teacher
I certainly did enjoy your starry night....its beautiful 😍. Loved your story too , walking in the dark is great, but I usually take my 🔦, just in case. I am going to give this little night sky a try tomorrow. Thanks Emma.
thank you emma ive painted for 27 years and i found you and love to learn from you and many others ,thank you your realistic rose was my all time favorite .hope your son gets well
I love this and am going to try this tonight. Your commentary makes me laugh and I appreciate you showing when you mess up or decide to go another way with a painting. It makes me feel like my mistakes can be fixed and maybe will add to the finished product. I'm just beginning to learn watercolor. 🌌
So beautiful! I've always had the same fear of the dark. But I will admit that over time, I've gotten a lot better about it. Seeing such beautiful stars makes conquering it worthwhile, so congrats because you did it! Just lovely. Thank you for sharing.
So beautiful! I haven't seen a night sky like this for many years, and I had already been thinking about trying to find someplace I could go to experience it again. Your video is a sign that I HAVE TO do it! 😄
Oh I really like this one Emma - this is like the night sky when I was a child - clear view of the milky way...the kind of sky that made you lay on your back and look straight up with wonder! Do not see that much anymore but I can paint it! Thank you! PS: I am afraid of the dark too - ever since I was a child so you are NOT alone...but its the monsters under my bed that get to me! lol!
Emma, I am thrilled that your tutorial came up when I was looking for a starry sky how to! You are one of the best! I came to your channel by way of a shout out from Diane Antone! I will try my first night sky tonight.
Glad to see these shorter tutorials... better for you!!! And you always ❤️ have such great lessons! We live away from city lights... a bit rural for S. California, but love the night skies. Thank 😊 you sweet Emma! With love from a California Gramma ❤️
Loved your outdoor story!!!... I have never been a camper... I was the only one with mosquito bites from a group... yes, outdoor toilets, try not to be nervous in case of a bear or deer appearing out of nowhere! HA!!! That was 50 years ago 😳 and I can remember it well!!!

I don't think the illumination in that section would be contrasted enough without the turquoise. It adds a certian glow that indigo can't. Lovely
It's so pretty! The turquoise blooms add a gorgeous touch of mystery. And I love your honesty and candour as always.

It"s really beautiful Emma. I still think you should author and illustrate a children's book.
Agree!
loved it
Good job.
This is amazing. I'm new at this, can you tell me what kind of color set and brushes I need for this?
This is amazing ! May I ask what model of light you use to light your video ? Love the effect, the absence of glare and the white balance !
So beautiful , can't wait to try. you are an amazing teacher Emma and Mom and Wife I would believe. You got this Girl. Pray lots!
I love this! Did you do wet-on-wet with the first layer?
The qors cobalt turquoise with another brand mightve worked for what u were wanting in beginning
It looks so beautiful! What do you think, would the technique work on printer paper?
💜💜💜
Emma, what is the white ink that you used?
It's Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White. It's a go-to for white.
Ik denk dat ik deze ook een keertje ga maken.
That might’ve work on round paper with trees all around as if you were lying down in a glade looking up. One way to find out. Thanks
😍
What color are you using on the trees?
You don’t mention the size of the brush you used for the trees.
Can anyone tell me the brand of white opaque ink she used to make the stars please?
can you make a full background?
Procreate is not available in place store what do i should do?
Yeah this is why you plan things beforehand so the video isnt a failure and embarassing
