I don't think the enemies are boring, if you look by the numbers, you'll of course write them off having no variety, but I personally love how they're not just enemies to kill but are instead actual people living their lives, they can be seen eating, talking, sleeping, hunting, cooking, and executing many other actions. That was a great video by the way, subbed, you express your opinion by being in-depth and explaining why and how you feel about things in a certain way thoroughly.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words and the sub! :)

I agree 100% Breath of the Wild is able to give a lasting impression but Phoenix rising had a much better story. But breath of the wild had this magic to it that I don’t think Phoenix was able to capture. Yet again, I don’t think they were trying to! Either way! Both great games !

Yeah exactly! Breath of the Wild had a uniqueness to it, while Fenyx was less original but more like “HECK YEAH” if you know what I mean!

Well, it's clear by the way Immortals Fenyx Rising is that it was a game that Ubisoft no doubt used spreadsheets and data to come up with. You can't really go more than 3 minutes without being engaged in some sort of puzzle, fight, or treasure box. It's created to ensnare the newer generation of gamers that can't really stand to wait or explore on their own. They need that INSTANT gratification and rewards all over the place.
Ironically enough, its THIS very same formula that actually turns me OFF of Immortals Fenyx Rising. I'm from a more older generation of gamers where taking your time exploring, talking to NPCs, being immersed in the game was more important than to be distracted by SOMETHING to do every 3 minutes. I PERSONALLY, actually like going to the furthest places on the map... the back woods, looking at all the graphics, looking how rain affects the physics in the game. I like to go to a camp in BotW and cook meals, prepare for the adventure. I like getting on the raft, and seeing where the current takes me. If BoTW had actual fishing, man, I'd be in HEAVEN. Couple that with some sort of survival aspect like food, water, energy... man I think that would be the DREAM game for me.
But, I digress... I personally LOVED BoTW. They could have done a few things better like the story, and the world but for what it is, I think it's perfect. As much as I love IFR, I can't shake the feeling that it wasn't made by ACTUAL people, but more like some sort of artificial Intelligence. They just litterally gathered gameplay data from the types of gamers that dominate the market and "synthesized" IFR. That's pretty much EVERYTHING Ubisoft does with their games, just look at Assassin's Creed. There is no soul to their games, just mechanics or ideas that they have market researched to be the most addictive things people love to do.
Don't get me wrong though... there are MANY things IFR ADDS to the game that are a definite improvement over BotW. I'd have loved to see BotW add in the ability to modify the abilities you get in the game. I can't really compare the graphics between the two because OFCOURSE IFR SHOULD have better graphics considering it was created for EVERY other system other than Switch.
One thing for sure is that both games are attractive to different audiences. I SHOULD like a game like IFR, but yet I just can't get into it, no matter how much I try. And, I'm sure there are people on the other spectrum that LOVE IFR and just can't get into BotW.

Bought Fenyx rising for € 5.99 on sale and I am positively surprised. Haven't played BOTW, but Fenyx is quite creative and fun to play. Couldn't believe this is a Ubisoft game at first.

I feel that the area I enjoyed Immortals in was the combat. It reminded me of character action games like DMC and Darksiders. In my opinion, however, the world was even more empty than BoTW. I notice that a lot of people tend to mistake a ton of enemies sprinkled throughout a map as dense when the actual world itself has hardly any content apart from puzzles and shrine-like dungeons.
I think I can only name 1 true side quest at the top of my head in Immortals, but in BoTW, I still remember several side quests that have actually stuck with me.
Both games are great, though. I wish that we got more "Zelda clones" in the games industry. Pine was a solid game that introduced new items to the Zelda formula and released after BoTW as well.

Really cool comparison! I think you hit the nail on the head on what sets BotW apart (can't speak for Fenyx since I haven't played it much). It's a very undirected, open game. Interesting that it works so well, or even works at all. However, everything that is directed / story-driven in BotW, is not that good (bad voice acting, not a very exciting main story, etc).
Also, the draw distance in Fenyx looks nuts. Was that PC? PS5?

I agree, there’s a special something to the “do whatever” mentality, but it takes away from other aspects too. And yes, Fenyx was captured on PC, the draw distance IS nuts, but I actually think it’s not much worse on the PS5!

That's PC footage, for both games, isn't it? 60 fps does not happen on Switch in either game. The D-pad icon at 2:11 tells me it's the Wii U version of Zelda, probably running in CEMU. Fenyx doesn't look anywhere near that glorious on Switch either.
Nice video! It deserves more views.

Thank you so much! And yes, this is the CEMU version, it’s so much more glorious than the Switch one! I hope you’ll subscribe for more, mate :)

I am slightly ashamed to admit I still haven't played Breath of The Wild, even though I've been a Zelda fan since playing OoT way back in the day. I love open world games, but I didn't necessarily want to mesh that with my love for Zelda. I mean, it should be a perfect match, but something has always felt a little off. I always preferred my Zelda games to be right narrative games, not something I had to spend 100 hours on to get the complete package

I have only played BOTW and OoT, and OoT I actually played a month after I played BOTW. But I have to say, I enjoyed Ocarina more! There was something about the music, the beautiful yet compact world that sold it for me, and I LOVED how it actually dared going from green and sunny to post apocalyptic and scary af.

@@AndysTake I guess one could compare it with eating at a restaurant. I prefer Zelda when it is more akin to a set menu. For starters, there are these dungeons and characters, and these themes are explored. The main course then refines and further explores the tastes presented in the starter. Themes are expanded upon and new elements are introduced in a controlled, handcrafted way, fitting in with the overarching story. Then, for dessert, you have the climactic ending to the entire thing, where all the characters and themes come together and are tied off nicely. Other games though, take TESV: Skyrim as an example, are perfectly fine as buffets. I have played Skyrim for about 300-400 hours since 2011, but there are still things I discover and new experiences to be had. And they're wonderful, bite-sized adventures. Sure, some storylines last for a good long while and are extremely enjoyable, yes Dark Brotherhood (though not as great as that one quest in Oblivion), but you can have that story at any point. You can go into the restaurant, finish looking at the menu/Helgen and go "Nah, I'll just have the Sithis buffet again", and you'll be satisfied. You get exactly what you want, but the buffet doesn't really fit into the larger narrative, it exists in the same restaurant but isn't part of a planned meal. I suspect I may be rambling at this point, but the point I'm trying to make is that I love both types of experience, and I simply prefer Zelda games to be of the set menu variety

Yeah it’s so stupid to compare open world games to botw…I have botw and fenyx rising and the games are nothing alike…there isn’t any survival mode in fenyx and the dungeons are just as good as botw but they are totally different…is no one supposed to have open world dungeon games just because botw has them? Big deal!! Once you complete botw it’s over and in all honesty there isn’t that much to do in the game and it gets boring the second time through…fenyx keeps you engaged for hours and hours and for us mediocre players I don’t think we could even complete everything in this game

I love ur mindset bc yiu said it correctly you can't really compare them there different in many ways Zelda great first play through but after that it's eh unless u have the dlc for the extra challenge both great games you honestly have to play both
