both these guys and tyler are so fucking awesome. tyler sees this group online somewhere, realizes there big fans of his, and their really talented.next thing you know, their touring with him.
This is true to Jazz, but it is also progress within the genre. This is modern, not just some rehashed bullshit that every Jazz musician has seen/played. It is innovative and fresh. I hope these guys continue to produce quality music like this.
From wikipedia "They played a piece based on Odd Future's music for a panel of their jazz performance instructors, who did not find that it had musical value." Lol
I come back to this video a few times a week, and first found it in late 2011. It amazes me that still after all these years, it hasn't even hit 1 mill. Maybe this world isn't meant to have fantastic music... This piece blows me away each and every time I hear it.
This video is 9 years old, and I remember the day it came out. I don't know how I came across it, but I do remember listening to it on repeat for the next few weeks. Their newest video, followed by this trip down memory lane severely improved my mood. Thank you BBNG!
When they really started grooving at 2:50 the sun started shining here. I am sure that this is because of the pure beauty of this music flowing out of my speakers. Clouds just disappear.
in all honesty, how can someone dislike this. From a musicians standpoint, you can see they have enormous talent. And from a listeners standpoint, the music itself is not a burden or annoying to listen too. If anything, its the smoothest stuff ive listened to in awhile. Cant wait for the debut full length!
I love the camera action, I feel like the fucked up angles and shitty filming goes perfectly with the OF swag. also the lemonade part is absolutely on point i cant stop replaying it
My buddy and I always jam to this song on piano/drumset and make it jazzy. It's bittersweet to see that there's dudes already doing it lol. Also, let me borrow the bass player.
Eighth note, two sixteenth notes (one-and-a) and then three groups of four sixteenth notes. The whole thing is counted One-and-a-two-e-and-a-three-e-and-a-four-e-and-a. I-II IIII IIII IIII (imagine those are notes). On the last two partials of each group (even the first), the notes are diddles. This means instead of playing one sixteenth note, you play two 32nd notes with one stick. Now, accent the FIRST two sixteenth notes of each grouping. This includes the eighth note (one eighth note=two sixteenth notes). Yeah?
Pretty sure its counted 1+pu-let 2 e +pu-let 3 e +pu-let 4 e +pu-let. An eighth on 1, followed by a 16th note triplet on the and (+). The next three beats have two sixteenths followed by a 16th triplet on the +'s. At least, that's what I'm hearing.
next session needs the video lined up with the audio properly ........ that would make it alot better.. seeing as thats probably the most basic necessity when watching a video
i've watched this soooo many times i can't get over how amazing this is. as a piano player, i am truly jealous of your talent! im stoked to see a part 2!
i love the sound and everything abouth this, even the camera guy (who everyone is bashing for no reason) it all feels raw and uncut. just music, emotion, and jazz
Love these guys! The blend of their music is unusually great. If you want to listen to another young band that is kicking ass go listen The Missing Watermelon, guess you'll like it if you dig bbng
Drummer has an exceptional snare sound. Solid tones all the way around.
It's kinda reminiscent of Joy Division's snare sound
Evan Pease joy division's snare sounds very similar but it's tuned alot lower

It's that ebony head.
both these guys and tyler are so fucking awesome.

Ghost face is active Af rn and it's awesome

Opinions on where they've gone since?
@@WHOAM1894 too uptight and fake, I guess
aged like fine wine
They make great music
@@WHOAM1894 You can only be a punk for so long before you grow up.
Why do his drums sound so clean? Would love to mimic his set when I get the paper.
Thick snare head, hit control, and steeze.
Looks like a kevlar snare head
rallokkcaz mostly steeze
Ik they always sound so good
The lemonade part is so good it hurts
Yup I showed it to my friends 50 yr old step dad and he liked it lol
They should do an updated version of these OF sessions with tunes off of Wolf and Doris. That would be sick!
Still here for this.
Hell yeah! I would love to hear a jazzed out version of Whoa
From wikipedia "They played a piece based on Odd Future's music for a panel of their jazz performance instructors, who did not find that it had musical value." Lol
10 years later still good
They are sensational live.
+cwagular Just saw them a few weeks ago, one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Instrumentally they were so on point it was unbelievable.
my god that ride sounds so good

Aaaaand I believe I have just discovered one of the greatest bands known to man.
God I can watch this forever. I was never a huge jazz person, but this is amazing. I watched it yesterday and decided I needed more just now.
i'd so would love to jam with these cats pretty legit musicians
i still come back to this to this day. the orange juice section is just absolutely ridiculous that’s a lotta fellas to fit into the pocket
so sick how the pianist has a minutemen shirt too.. right on this goes
It's odd listening to this now, it has so much youthful energy that i don't have anymore, but i feel it again listening to this.
it inspires me a lot. so young and so talented!
makes me happy to find something this good ♥
That's the kind of piano I love.
Still amazing. I was 16 when I heard this first. Now I'm 27. How time flies

I could listen to you guys jam to Lemonade (Orange Juice) for an hour and not get bored. This is so good. Make more videos right NOW! Do it.

Love that this was recorded in a classroom. Such a young talent!
Odd Future meets class.
I could listen to this all day, and not just because of OF, this is really beautiful, these guys are great musicians. Please make more.

So much talent and synchrony.
MAN THESE GUYS CAN FUCKING IMPROVISE!!!!
as a young piano player who loves jazz/improv based music, its nice to see some good stuff out there. now I just gotta find a band.
You guys should really cover some MF DOOM beats. This is amazing by the way.
Here from the future they did and DOOM collabed on two songs with them
jazz musicians breaking the mold. really refreshing and exciting
orange juice omfg
I always come back to these
Does anyone have the original tracks for download? The link does not work and I can't find the tunes anywhere.
+Oscar Knights please I want them too !

I highly enjoyed this.
Odd Future sucks tho
Poeticriffraff er not really, they're lyric masters, ehh but that's you're opinion.
Yes my opinion is that they suck. You're opinion is that they don't, and there's nothing wrong with that.
NOW LETS GET DRUGS :D
XxTecHiE_01_xX
I don't consider weed a drug. But it is a drug tho because I am high.
I was thinking more synthetic drugs....But weed is fine :D
Illuminating sound. Ill see you guys in concert soon.
Tyler loves jazz, you guys have earned his respect, lucky.
Transitioned From Bastard To Orange Juice Gave Me The Chills!
Killed it with the bass solo - love the tone he has great fingers
definitely one of the most amazing performances ive seen on youtube
rappers with lives bands have amazing shows. ive seen lupe and common shows with live bands and they were the two best shows ive ever been to
The piano solos are sick nasty awesome.
im glad music like this is becoming popular
At 3:43 when the bass kicks in reminds me of Castlevania SOTN in the underground area
I like how they imply different content with the intro. Instead you get an amazing jazz cover.
Why has this not gotten to a million views yet?
