I remember playing this on family vacation when I was around 10-11, and everyone wondering why I just cried my eyes out, still get's me in my feels today when I'm 22
this is the hardest level in the game because you also have to tap in time to the song while your eyes go blurry. I don't know how they did it, but technology sure is amazing.
- The one song where the victim never asks for help. - The one song where 'Agents are go!' is never mentioned. - It gets better if the commander is deployed.
I actually saw this video a few months before my dad passed. It's only been a couple since he did, but this came back to my mind. He was a huge Chicago fan and we played this song at his viewing. Crying rn like an idiot
Well, I'd say it's sadder when you fail the song, because if you do, the girl never gets to see her dad's spirit, and therefore the miracle never happens, as well as that her mom decides to move to a new home, because it brought her a lot of sad feelings. So yeah, I rather pass than feel the guilt of betraying her hope.
If someone ever asked me, whats the saddest Game i've ever played and i would say Elite Beat Agent, they would think im totaly stupid. But... i don't care. It's good to read that im not alone with this (and that Shows me, how good it was made)
Well atleaat her father came home as a ghost. That must be awkward during family get together. "So what do you do for a living?" GhostDad: "Who said I was living?"
英語を勉強してから来たらすごく いい話だった。ルーシー、 ええ子や… After studying English at high school, I found it was a good story. Lucy, you are nice child… (Maybe I had a mistake in the grammar.)
It takes quite a feat to make me cry. But I'm man enough to admit it... this vid makes a mess of me every single time. I keep coming back to it and it keeps happening.
I played this game earlier today for the first time since my dad passed. For some reason, the meteorologist one made me cry. But this one? Man, It was such a different reaction. I legit was so teary-eyed, I have to pull myself together to make sure I didn't fail. Do I believe in spirits or anything like that? No. But I truly believe that this one mission highlights the powerful nature of fiction. It's a great feeling, tear-jerking in the happy sense mostly, to see a wife reunited with her husband/daughter reunited with her dad one final time. They didn't have to put this emotionally hard-hitting episode in the middle of this silly, goofy game. But I'm glad they did. The game is better for it.
There's something special about this level. Is one of the few that it doesn't has the "Agents are... Go!" Or the countdown or even the hand waving so they can't take away the impact of the feeling about the story. Damn... Nintendo can be sentimental when it wants to.
I know this level is pretty somber, but has anyone thought of the implications of the agents summoning the spirit-wraith of the father back from the dead? First, the ghost-dad has procured a female teddy as a gift for his daughter. Imagine the horror of the shopkeeper as this undead apparition appeared in their store, and then using unholy powers to manipulate the corporal world lifted the teddy and absconded from the premise. For years, maybe the rest of their life, will the humble clerk shudder in night at the fear of the apparition appear again, without the comfort to friends which will never believe such an laughable tale. Slowly the reality of what he/she saw that fateful so utterly contradicts what they think to be true, that over time reality melts around them and are taken away to asylum as their bumbling words nonsensically recount a horror to unhearing ears. Or maybe the girl teddy is not of this world, but was brought along with the daddy-specter from whatever unimaginable realm he came from. This stuffed and "cute" artifact of another world or time, who's eyes has, over the course of millennia, seen unspeakable horrors in the after life and been in the possession of the most unholy of creatures. What becomes of the incorporeal-progenitor after the Christmas sun sets? Has the macabre dance of the agents ensured that he will forever haunt Lucy's house or will he eventually succumb to his fate and be pulled back to the netherworld from which he came? Or maybe he has determine, rather than to return to the gnashing of teeth, to possess Teddy and bring unholy life into the unbegotten object and home to his soul. So Khan enlisted the Elite Beat Agents and taught them this odious promenade of the dead, once pranced in only the darkest moons beneath the pyramids and catacombs of Nephran-Ka. A dark ritual of the departed, forgotten for centuries yet casually resurrected as a nepenthe for Lucy, her innocence striking a sullen contrast to the ghoulish arcana unleashed to the world of the living. The Elite Beat Agents--a state force of justice--through which their song and loco motions channel--unbelievably--a bridge through which into the terrestrial world this banshee-forbearer once known as Matthew Stevens, from the spirit realm. Was Lucy's ancestor-shadow the only spirit summoned? Or has Khan's frolic of the damned unleashed a multitude of castaway souls to anoint New Year's in an abominable evil unseen for ages. And what about Khan and his riddles? How did he come to learn about the secret hymn and prance of the damned? Through a line of dark lords was he taught, or was it brought down through his lineage, father revealing to son, through the ages of time, the dark arts of necromancy. Should the chorus "You're My Inspiration" of the ungodly dirge be more aptly rewritten to "You're my Apparition"? Merry Christmas. Happy New Year.
You'd think after all the violence and gore and junk you see on the internet you'd be desensitised to this sort of thing, yet here we all are struggling to hold back the tears. Do not fail her.
I get really fucking sick of good people having people they love get ripped away from them. It’s odd that this was my first FC of any rhythm game. Means something knowing this was behind that. Been good and loving rhythm games ever since.
+Royce ummm... you select your characters, and each characters have their own difficulties that affects the difficulty of the gameplay. I think the chearleaders you're saying are those unlockables which has a very hard difficulty. It's not character per song, you can play the songs with different characters.
+Royce Agent 'spin' is easy, Agent J is medium, um theres a hard mode with some guy, and the cheerleaders are hard rock mode (hard rock mode is hard but flipped 180 degrees
Me: hey watcha doin? Friend: Oh! I'm just playing elite beat agents, I got to 'Christmas gift' Me: **in very serious mode** If you let her down I will cut off your arms and do it myself Friend: Jesus fuck, you need to chill
I'm sorry. At the time I was playing this on an emulator on my computer with a mouse. It was really hard especially if you were recording, my specs were crap.
1:49 I have never seen a mom in more denial about the loss of a family member then this one. I get that you're upset, my mom was too after I lost my father, but that's no way to explain it to your kid. I know, I know, it's just a game, but these where my parents thoughts as well on this episode when they saw it years ago.
Put a hundred people in the same bad situation and a bunch of them will react differently. Robberies, for example. Most people will comply, some will freeze in fear, some will cry, and some will even be stupid and get themselves shot.
Yeah. There's actually another one before this but it's only Japanese. They're all on the first Nintendo DS. I don't know the actual story of OSU but filling in the gaps, I think fans tried to make their own versions of this game applied to other songs, mostly anime related. Am I right?
The true challenge is playing the stage through the tears.
Sadly I have a case of 'compassion fatigue' so I cannot feel compassion for the time being.
The feels
facts
true that my friend
I remember playing this on family vacation when I was around 10-11, and everyone wondering why I just cried my eyes out, still get's me in my feels today when I'm 22
The commander didn't even need to send them. They knew.
for real. I didnt notice he didnt say "GO!"
this is the hardest level in the game because you also have to tap in time to the song while your eyes go blurry. I don't know how they did it, but technology sure is amazing.
lol
+Bloodyidit Damn you crying BLURRY mode!!
*The hardest level is the final one on cheiften*
- The one song where the victim never asks for help.
- The one song where 'Agents are go!' is never mentioned.
- It gets better if the commander is deployed.
I am here for my annual viewing and crying :')
Merry christmas :')
A man of culture I see.
Best watched during Christmas...see you then...😥
Commander doesn't even say "Agents are go!" in this one. That's how sad it is.
This really has absolutely no right being as emotional as it was. I literally shed a few tears...
A few? You have a heart of stone
My dad died recently and this was his and mom's song
what an odd coincidence
shhhiiieeet
I hope you're doing okay.
I actually saw this video a few months before my dad passed. It's only been a couple since he did, but this came back to my mind. He was a huge Chicago fan and we played this song at his viewing. Crying rn like an idiot
more feels than a david cage game
More feels than all the David Cage games combined.
9 years later and this comment is still funny.
@@icewolf6062 hell yeah brother
So, who else cried a bit while playing this song? *raises hand*
Define "a bit".
Tears falling from your eyes, sniffling and whatnot.
i cry every time i hear this song.
StrawberryAshi I did
StrawberryAshi I actually started to tear up while typing
I didn't quite get it when I was little and the when the game came out. But I still cried. And right now, IM CRYING OMFFFGGGG
It's really funny, because whether you pass or fail the song, you're still gonna be crying. ;_;
The but you want to win to feel better afterwards.
Also cuz, yknow, you gotta complete it to progress
Well, I'd say it's sadder when you fail the song, because if you do, the girl never gets to see her dad's spirit, and therefore the miracle never happens, as well as that her mom decides to move to a new home, because it brought her a lot of sad feelings. Super Mario Galaxy is super sad too with Rosalina's story.
@@inarencommander4663 that's also true. I actually cried again after Let's Playing the Game and read her Story.
Well atleaat her father came home as a ghost. That must be awkward during family get together.
"So what do you do for a living?"
GhostDad: "Who said I was living?"

I'm crying right now... My father died and the only thing I want is to see him... Miss you dad! This song is more emotional to me.
Sending my condolences and support. May the bestest of the best memories you have with your father never tarnish! 🤗❤️
Ass2xSin thanks... I played this game back in 2006 and this stage always made me cry... Now that my father died is more significant to me
WE CANNOT FAIL TO HER
DO.NOT.FAIL
It takes quite a feat to make me cry. But I'm man enough to admit it... this vid makes a mess of me every single time. I keep coming back to it and it keeps happening.
So if you play it you start crying uncontrollably?
Not instantly. It isn't psychosomatic. About halfway in or so.
So you were unable to beat this stage?
...And I think something is wrong with me...
DAMN YOU TWO BEST FRIENDS PLAY!
When did they play this?
I used to cry everytiem I played this :'0
Monster Claw i still cry every time i play this
Someone help, I drowning in tears and feels.
lol ok i'm at 0:59 and this already reeks of tragedy in the making >__>
no... not the feels... ANYTHING BUT THE FEELS!

the salty tears, they flow
Know what sucks though? When you fail this song.
Plz dont bring that up...
+TheSustechPlayzCS:GO what? years later and I get a reply. well it still sucks when you fail this song and he never comes home
+Tron Edge Yea it does suck when you fail it, so this is my least favourite STAGE
Then it becomes a horror story
then they have to move out...what might be even worse is if you get three X's and still manage to complete the song...
I felt so bad everytime I lost this level😭😭
Haha, I love this funny rythm game with the wachy men in suits
Thanks,I REALLY needed to remember this.
It's 2021 and I am still on verge of tears watching this... been 10 years since I first played this game
I'm on the verge of tears... :'(
i cried rewatching this
This one absolutely broke me and it took me 10 tries to complete it without crying 😭

Merry Christmas, Elite Beat Agents!
We need a video of Over the Distance, You're the Inspiration, and Believe back-to-back.
Damn it, who left these onions here
The challenge was completing this level through your tears
