Peter Cetera, the long-time lead vocalist and front man for Chicago had his jaw broken and wired shut for an extremely long duration. He therefore learned to sing through what we see as clinched teeth. This has forever been his singing style which makes it look like he has very little mouth movements at all. He's gone on to have a very successful solo career. Keep up the great work you two.
I grew up with this great band from the 70's-80's. They were a rock & roll band with horns & blended elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, & pop music. They had a lot of great songs such as "Make Me Smile", "25 or 6 to 4", "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?", "Beginnings", "Questions 67 & 68", "I'm A Man", "Where Do We Go From Here?", "Free", "Lowdown", "Saturday In The Park", "Make Me Smile", "Colour My World", "Hard To Say I'm Sorry", "You're The Inspiration", "Will You Still Love Me?", "Look Away", "Feelin' Stronger Every Day", "If You Leave Me Now", "Old Days" etc.
Given the amazing sounds that Chicago produces, it stands to reason they would have amazing, eclectic taste in music, and yet, I'm still always a little surprised to see Peter Cetera wearing a Bauhaus 'Bela Lugo's Dead' t-shirt in this video. Love it, and hope to see some Bauhaus on this channel, starting with Sanity Assassin, She's in Parties, Adrenaline, Of Lillies and Remains...
This is not really about the song but you are only the second person that I have seen named Dagmar. I was stationed in Germany in the '80s and had a girlfriend named that. That has been over thirty years ago. To me, it's such a unique name and brings back some awesome times. Take care.

Peter Cetera and Kenny Loggins were the ballad KINGS of the 80s. Amazing love songs that could melt butter. My favourite Peter song is Glory of Love from the Karate Kid 2 soundtrack - and Hard Habit to Break. He also does an incredible ballad with Amy Grant called Next Time I Fall. Daddy's Girl from the movie Three Men and a Baby is the cutest song. When Peter left Chicago and they switched singers - they came out with my all time favourite ballad of all time called Will You Still Love Me. Sending you both huge hugs for diving into more Chicago. @JeannieSchmidt, that is a great song. I hope that you didn't take my post as criticism because I surely didn't mean for it to be. I'd be hard-pressed in picking between that one or Sweet Dreams. My wife and I played this at our wedding on 12/18/87. 34 years later and she is still my inspiration. I still want to have her near me. Beautiful song that has a special meaning to us and will always be "our song".
Another great Chicago song…”If You Leave Me Now”. My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I broke up for a short time, he heard it at work and said he realized how much he loved me and called me that night. Tomorrow is our 36th wedding anniversary ♥️

Peter Cetera's voice is just awesome! This is from their 14th album, Chicago 17 which is their biggest selling album. Stay the Night, Hard Habit to break, and Along Comes a Woman were the other big hits from this album. From Chicago 16, Hard to Say I'm Sorry/Get Away and Love Me Tomorrow. From Chicago 18, Will You Still Love Me and If She Would've Been Faithful. Some earlier favorites, No Tell Lover, Alive Again, Old Days, (I've Been) Searching So Long, Wishing You Were Here, Call On Me, Just You and Me, Questions 67 & 68, and Saturday In the Park. Peter Cetera left the group between 17 and 18 for a solo career. Has a great duet with Amy Grant, "The Next Time I Fall". Glory of Love was featured on the Karate Kid II soundtrack. Now I need to listen to more, lol.
As an 80s kid, I heard Peter Cetera as a soloist and master of the ballad. It wasn’t until I started listening to Oldies stations and classic rock stations that I was introduced to Chicago, the band.
If you like this one, you should definitely look up "Glory of Love" by Peter Cetera(this singer). Peter did some amazing songs on his own as well as with Chicago!

I love this one, too! More of their great songs - "Hard Habit to Break" "Glory Of Love" (from the movie "The Karate Kid". I think it's Peter Cetera without the band.) "Stay the Night" "Along Comes a Woman" "Next Time I Fall" (duet feat. lead singer Peter Cetera with Amy Grant.) "I Can't Let Go" (originally by Earth, Wind & Fire, so either way you've got horns. I actually like Chicago's version a little better, though I looove EW&F.)
@@jessiem276 Thank you. :) I didn't remember "Color My World" when I read it in the comments, and still don't. I like "Saturday In the Park", pretty well, but I like Chicago better with Peter Cetera as lead singer.
Starting in 1969, Chicago has amassed 37 official releases. Only 25 of those are studio recordings of original songs, or studio covers (such as their three Christmas albums and their big band album), the rest are compilations or live recordings. Still, 25 albums is a lot of music. The original band had seven members: Robert Lamm - keyboards, lead and backing vocals Terry Kath - guitars, lead and backing vocals Peter Cetera - bass, lead and backing vocals Danny Seraphine - drums James Pankow - trombone, backing vocals Lee Loughnane - trumpet, flugelhorn, backing vocals Walter Parazaider - reeds, backing vocals Over the years there have been several changes in the lineup. Now, only three of the original members are still with the band; Lamm, Loughnane, and Pankow. Their sound has moved and morphed over the years as well. I'm partial to the first seven album primarily, though I'm also a great fan of 22 (the big band album), 25 (first Christmas album), 32 (a harkening to their early sound and style), with tunes here and there throughout that I am quite fond of (like Feel from 30). Favorite songs from the early era: everything on 1 (except Free Form Guitar), all of 2, all of 3 -- okay, all of it. All time favorite song, though: from the fifth album, Dialogue, parts 1 & 2. Love you guys! Thanks for all the joy!
This is 80s Chicago! They had so many great hits(love songs) Love Me Tomorrow,Hard For Me To Say I`m Sorry and Hard Habit To Break ,all of these you will LOVE!Keep On Rockin'
Will You Still Love Me and Look Away (Billboard top single of 89) are two more great songs 80s style after Peter Cetera left. Both of these songs are performed by different led singers.
I was watching your Jackson Browne "Stay" video and you mentioned prom songs, so I searched your channel for mine... And this is it. 1985 prom in my high school was Chicago's "You’re the Inspiration." 😊
I love color my world too, but also really love Saturday in the Park. That is one of their original jams that has all the musical instruments you guys really like.
I'm a Chicago freak and bought every album they released up until their 30th Anniversary (they put out an album +, a year on average). I took my daughter to see them for her 1st concert (30th Anniversary Tour). "Look Away" was their biggest hit post Peter Cetera.
"You're the Inspiration" is a song written by Peter Cetera and David Foster for the group Chicago and recorded for their fourteenth studio album Chicago 17 (1984), with Cetera singing lead vocals. - Wikipedia.
Being from the 70's and the 80's...I'm a slow love ballad person....u have to listen to Lyin' Eyes, Peaceful Easy Feeling by the Eagles....love u guys and love your reactions.....❤
By the time Chicago 17 came out in 1984, the group had largely (but not completely) traded its trademark horn section for a more synthesized sound. Nevertheless, Chicago 17 became their biggest selling album of all time, thanks in part to You're The Inspiration and Hard Habit To Break. These songs completed Chicago's comeback journey that began with Hard To Say I'm Sorry from 1982. That comeback journey continued until What Kind Of Man Would I Be, which would be their last top ten hit in 1989. I'd recommend checking that out.
Chicago has been together, in one form or another, since the 60's. This is just one of the later versions. Me personally, I like the earlier versions of the band. One of their greatest hits of all time was Saturday in the Park. You ought to play that one.
This was THE LOVE SONG of the 80s, everyone requested it or dedicated on radio, slow danced, proms, weddings! And today it’s still up there as a best of love song!
I love this song so much. Peter Cetera was the voice of Chicago until he left for a solo career. I've seen Chicago twice in concert and the last time was with Earth, Wind & Fire.
One, I love the Barry Gibb picture behind you. 2nd, This is what I grew up on. Actual singing, harmonizing and ppl ACUTALLY playing Instruments. I know, CRAZY!
Chicago was the soundtrack to my 80s. Grew up just outside the city, and always loved that they were named Chicago. But, man oh man, they described what I went through so much. Most often, I was the guy on the wrong side of things...relationship wise...still tough to listen to, and yet, so beautiful.
I'm ALWAYS down for all things CHICAGO!!! I listened to this during my first real heartbreak and I would Highly recommend the entire album Chicago XVII. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My all time favorite ballad right here! I was a Sophomore in High School with a little gal friend. Great, great feelings to a great great song!! It ruined me …lol
Peter Cetera is one the best vocalists of all time. Hard Habit to Break, Hard to Say I'm Sorry and Look Away are some their best. Peter Cetera have some great hits as a solo artist like Glory of Love and Next I Fall in Love with Amy Grant.
The lead singer on this song is Peter Cetera. He later went out on his own as a solo artist. Some songs by him you might want to check out is: "The Glory of Love", "Scheherezade" and "The Next Time I Fall" with Amy Grant. Pure pop perfection!
"Chicago 17" is downloaded on my device and a regular play choice - realizing this is an older reaction ... the songs "Look Away" "If She Would Have Been Faithful" and "Will You Still Love Me" Are also equally amazing ❤
Gotta do "Nobody's Fool", by Cinderella, Live from Moscow in 1989... Tom Keifer does an INSANE guitar solo at the beginning... make sure you do the 7 minutes and 34 seconds version
I don't know if a comment got deleted or something but someone in this thread should probably mention that the band you're talking about is Cinderella. In addition to the song you suggested, their song "Long Cold Winter" is right up Jay and Amber's alley. Bluesy guitar, Janis-esque vocals, super full of the feels... I can't imagine them not absolutely loving it.

I personally LOVE the 80’s version of Chicago. Please check out Hard Habit to Break. Beautiful, haunting song.
Hard Habit To Break is a fantastic song, great mid section. Good call 👍❤️
It's certainly one of my favourites of theirs!
Love, love Chicago!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Peter Cetera (the lead singer) is one of my 3 favorite singers. Love this song!
This is the early eighties and these are some old guys now and they still have the rhythm
I love this one, too!
More of their great songs -
"Hard Habit to Break"
"Glory Of Love" (from the movie "The Karate Kid". I think it's Peter Cetera without the band.)
"Stay the Night"
"Along Comes a Woman"
"Next Time I Fall" (duet feat. lead singer Peter Cetera with Amy Grant.)
"I Can't Let Go" (originally by Earth, Wind & Fire, so either way you've got horns. I actually like Chicago's version a little better, though I looove EW&F.)
You're naming all the good ones! I never care for "Color My World", or "Saturday In The Park" (I think that was the name of it).

Thank you. :)
I didn't remember "Color My World" when I read it in the comments, and still don't. I like "Saturday In the Park", pretty well, but I like Chicago better with Peter Cetera as lead singer.
I love “I Can’t Let Go.” I was trying to think of the name of the song though, thank you!
Omg it's Karate Kid 2
Starting in 1969, Chicago has amassed 37 official releases. Only 25 of those are studio recordings of original songs, or studio covers (such as their three Christmas albums and their big band album), the rest are compilations or live recordings. Still, 25 albums is a lot of music. The original band had seven members:
Robert Lamm - keyboards, lead and backing vocals
Terry Kath - guitars, lead and backing vocals
Peter Cetera - bass, lead and backing vocals
Danny Seraphine - drums
James Pankow - trombone, backing vocals
Lee Loughnane - trumpet, flugelhorn, backing vocals
Walter Parazaider - reeds, backing vocals
Over the years there have been several changes in the lineup.
Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells, it's a great psychedelic visual 🎵
2 CHICAGO MUST HEAR CLASSICS,, "DOES ANYBODY REALLY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS" & "COLOUR MY WORLD" (Many Would Choose This One For Their Wedding Song)
"Will You Still Love Me" is another banger of a ballad from Chicago
I love color my world too, but also really love Saturday in the Park. That is one of their original jams that has all the musical instruments you guys really like.
He always looked like he dislocated his jaw to sing. Powerful group. First concert I went to.
Chicago had one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived.
Bassist
CHICAGO A Brilliant group with Fantastic lyrics. Th for the post & reactions.
Chicago has been together, in one form or another, since the 60's. This is just one of the later versions. Me personally, I like the earlier versions of the band. One of their greatest hits of all time was Saturday in the Park. You ought to play that one.
This is my favourite Chicago song. The harmonies get me every time.
Haven't heard Boz Scaggs in a while. "Lido Shuffle" is an absolute must, with "It's Over" and "Breakdown Dead Ahead" right behind that one.
try playing that with a 3 piece band. guitar bass drums hahahahah like i did
lido shuffle ooops
Absolutely! Love those songs!
This was THE LOVE SONG of the 80s, everyone requested it or dedicated on radio, slow danced, proms, weddings! And today it’s still up there as a best of love song!
Great choice!!! I love there music and I’ve seen them in concert!!!
I really enjoyed the commentary to one of my favorite songs
I love this song so much. Peter Cetera was the voice of Chicago until he left for a solo career. I've seen Chicago twice in concert and the last time was with Earth, Wind & Fire.
One, I love the Barry Gibb picture behind you. 2nd, This is what I grew up on. Actual singing, harmonizing and ppl ACUTALLY playing Instruments. I know, CRAZY!
Chicago like all great bands, evolved. Peter Cetera has a great voice. With that said, I must say I prefer the Chicago's earlier songs.
Chicago was the soundtrack to my 80s. Grew up just outside the city, and always loved that they were named Chicago. But, man oh man, they described what I went through so much. Most often, I was the guy on the wrong side of things...relationship wise...still tough to listen to, and yet, so beautiful.
Really good song, thank you for reaching to it. I recommend Glory of Love by Chicago, you guys will love it!
Isnt Glory Of Love a solo song by Peter Cetera?
That voice of his!!!!
I'm ALWAYS down for all things CHICAGO!!! I listened to this during my first real heartbreak and I would Highly recommend the entire album Chicago XVII. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Chicago's sound changed from the 70s to the 80s. I love all of their sounds. Colour My World is a beautiful song.
If you want a song that will instantly grab your heart, listen to "color my world" It's short but it a must hear. So many great Chicago songs to hear.
They had some beautiful romantic tunes- and those harmonies!!! Only The Beginning is one of the sweetest love songs ever!!!
My all time favorite ballad right here! I was a Sophomore in High School with a little gal friend. Great, great feelings to a great great song!! It ruined me …lol
55 years and counting........Chicago.........a superstar band, ageless........the horns rock and
never dissapoint.
Peter Cetera is one the best vocalists of all time. Hard Habit to Break, Hard to Say I'm Sorry and Look Away are some their best. Peter Cetera have some great hits as a solo artist like Glory of Love and Next I Fall in Love with Amy Grant.
Old school Chicago - Feeling Stronger Everyday
Chicago is always a moment for me. Peter Cetera could sing me the phone book and I'd fall in love, lol.
The lead singer on this song is Peter Cetera. He later went out on his own as a solo artist. Some songs by him you might want to check out is: "The Glory of Love", "Scheherezade" and "The Next Time I Fall" with Amy Grant. Pure pop perfection!
Check out “Glory of Love”. Peter Cetera, the lead singer for Chicago went solo. Huge hit off the Karate Kid II soundtrack. Same awesome voice.
"Chicago 17" is downloaded on my device and a regular play choice
- realizing this is an older reaction ... the songs "Look Away" "If She Would Have Been Faithful" and "Will You Still Love Me"
Are also equally amazing ❤
This was me and my wife's "song". It still brings back the emotions of meeting and dating her. Love it!
It’s ours, too
Chicago is the first concert I ever went to, on my first date with my first boyfriend. Chicago is near and dear to my heart!!
Gotta do "Nobody's Fool", by Cinderella, Live from Moscow in 1989... Tom Keifer does an INSANE guitar solo at the beginning... make sure you do the 7 minutes and 34 seconds version
My favorite band. Met with them several times and they were always great. Wonderful memories - rest in peace sweet Jeff. So missed 😭
At the time this song was on the charts, it was frequently used as a wedding song.
