- This was probably the NUTTIEST car we encountered at the Pikes Peak Air Strip Attack - this 1170hp 101mm turbo equipped Cadillac CTS-V was turning heads everywhere it went. Hop into the passenger seat as we race down the 1/2 mile raceway at over 180 mph!
That Cadillac gets the TRC stamp of approval.
guy needs a 5-25kW electric motor to pre-spool that turbo and make it spool up faster than a 50mm turbo

Trans is geared out for those Texas miles and shit, car gonna spend too much out boost for turbo to useful.
+Devin Williams Half the race is launch and 60 foot time. Most winners get the jump and the other guy has to spendt he whole race playing catch up. This car does not make near enough power to drive around another drag car that leaped out in front. When this cars power comes in the other car also has big power kicking in and is much much lighter. This car just does not work for real racing. I have a 500hp mustang I doubt this car can beat me in 1/8th mile, maybe not even 1/4 mile.

supra had like 100hp more but it killed the cts and ate if for dinner
because the cts lost traction and went sideways when he went full throttle which gave the supra all the momentum.

supra was manual, and still ate the cts. Really the cts should have won but it cant keep the power on the ground even its auto trans and supra had no problems even when it had more hp.

Gage Hermosa Well if you look at the way it accelerated and braking loose as soon as he hits the gas i doubt very much it has a lot of lag which only means it is running on N/A until it kicks in which for a 480 ls motor is probably good for around 600-700 so im sure you would not notice it

For those of you who don't understand why such a big turbo you need to learn a bit more about turbo's. Alot of what you see there isn't all lag. Aside from the fact that some of those races were from a roll, it can't take full boost much sooner than about 85mph. The driver is trying to ramp in the power as he thinks the tires will take it. The car will still blow the tires off at 70mph. Find a small turbo that can keep IAT's down at 20+psi while feeding a 408 for a distance that long and you'll have a magical turbo.

the start is slow because it is a rolling start from 50ish mph. they start from point A get up to 50ish mph until they get to point B and from there it is flat out to the finishline

The new billet 67 wheels are touching 1k at the wheels now. With a MUCH better response. My billet 62 is good for over 700 at the wheel right now lol

Too many factors. Engine speed, turbo size, turbo a/r and how aggressive your timing is affects these things.

they dont call the supra the highway king for no reason, 70-80mph rolling burn out is nothing out of reach for a "water melon'd" supra. the CTS-V and SRT8 is stupid fast as well. WONDERFUL event this year couldnt be happier with the outcome thank god it was my birthday weekend and I opt'd to spectate the event instead of going out getting hammered :'D
