    Mike Rowe shines a spotlight on what really makes the country great and this is all the people in all jobs around the USA that go unnoticed, but are critical in keeping everything up and running. Without the Dirty Job's people do this country would crumble.

    Anyone who's ever been so sick that you can't work for an extended period of time knows all too well how being able to work is a blessing & privilege. It bothers me that so many just don't care to go to work and do their job, working hard & there are many who would gladly trade places but their health won't allow it.

      What’s they’re actually talking about here is having a job. There’s a difference between having a job and working. No one REALLY wants a job, they just want the paycheck that comes with it, unless it’s their dream job. Most jobs are mindless, don’t bring meaning to our lives past our paychecks and they don’t do anything for our lives much past that.
      Having said all of that, humans need to work to survive, but not in ways where we’re working doing things to actually survive. We’re pushing papers, running jobs that aren’t good for us to get money to take care of our needs instead of directly putting in the effort to do so to get by. Instead of physically putting in the work to build our house, grow food, we’re going to a job to get money to do those things in other ways, like to pay a mortgage for a house that someone else built, buying prepared meals instead.
      Chances are, you really don’t want a job either, you just want the freedom to be able to be like everyone else and be able to ‘earn’ that paycheck as well to make your life a bit easier on you if you could at all help it as well. To ‘earn’ that paycheck-what a strange way of doing things…to force people to earn their survival…their freedom and their ‘privilege’ of not suffering basically. How many other species does it like us in the wild? Why IS that a privilege? Is it really even a privilege? Is someone else at an advantage or are you just disadvantaged? Are you more disadvantaged just because there are advantages people out there?
      People throw around the topic of being ‘privileged’ when we are all to one extent or another!
      It bothers me when people guilt trip you into not having a more difficult life just because they don’t act as grateful as you think they should. It sucks to see someone I’ll and I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone, however, nor would I ever make someone feel bad for not appreciating enough what I wish I had.
      No one should want a job especially if it means keeping this corrupt society going which does very little to benefit it’s people. We should want to go back to working to rebuild and create a society that works for us. We shouldn’t want to work for money. We should want to do it because it makes us fulfilled and useful. Today’s workforce don’t fell that because they’re not working to fulfill themselves and that’s NOT a bad thing nor is not wanting to contribute to that especially if they feel it’s wrong! It’s not their fault that you don’t see the value in it and have woken up to the reality of the situation and don’t want to play this game any more. I don’t blame them! This doesn’t mean they’re ungrateful or unappreciative or must do it because you can’t or should want to stick it out because of all those who ‘can’t’. It’s not their fault, so please drop the guilt trip.
      You may not be able to go to work, but you can find what you are able to do to find your place in society.

    • @Spladoinkal
      @Spladoinkal ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lacroix999 In the marketplace, you are valued by how big of a problem you solve for everyone. They greater you serve, the more value you bring and this ticks all the boxes: Makes you FEEL like you've done something meaningful, brings income, and allows you to buy time back, the most valuable commodity. Most people either don't have knowledge of this or blow off any knowledge of this so they work a 9-5 and complain about being miserable. With a 9-5 you're basically throwing 1/3 of your life away by building someone else's business instead of yours.

    • @Lacroix999
      @Lacroix999 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Spladoinkal there’s a few problems with what you just said. Most jobs to don’t solve a problem. Most create them more than anything. We just can’t see it that way because we’re so convinced by society that we just need to go get a job and fit in with everyone else that we just take what we can get, even if it’s not meaningful….despite being told when we’re younger that we can go get anything we strive to achieve all while losing your ambition along the way to do so by the very system that tells you what’s expected of you, No many feel good about doing a traditional every day job that does bring very little meaning to the world since they ARE more than likely working for others. None of these types of jobs actually help you “buy back” your lost time since it doesn’t work that way. Most of us are just living to get to retirement so we can hopefully do what we love…one day….if we’re not too old, tired or worn down to act be able to do so. And this is ONLY if we have afforded to do so along the way, saving up our money in the process. If you want a job that allows you to “buy back” your time, the only one you can do IS the one you CHOOSE to do that ACTUALLY brings you happiness and allows you to “never have to work a day in your life” because you’re actually living your dream life, following your passions and are truly happy doing so! If you’re throwing away 1/3 of your life working, it might as well be striving to do something you love any ways of you have to put in the effort to get there in the work force one way or another. It’s your choice-either create/find a job you actually love or find one that makes you miserable, but either way, the work is still equal effort. We all have 24 hrs on a day. You can bust your ass one way or the other, but you don’t get that time back if you choose the miserable option in the process.
      It’s sad that society tells you that you just need to find a job and be happy with it instead of being happy because you find a job to be happy doing. It should encourage a society that prides itself on being happy because that benefits society as a whole. It shouldn’t just encourage you to do your job and be happy with it, lying to yourself in the process. We act like those that do what they love are “lucky” or that it’s out of reach and also discourage those who do so because if you worked a crappy job and suffered in the pro and worked your life away, so should everyone else!! which is an extremely selfish, narcissistic and sad way of looking at it all. If it makes you feel better about your own life choices to see others suffer as you did, then there’s something wrong with you, yet this is the majority of society. This is even more so for careers that aren’t taken seriously and that are deemed more ‘fun’ or or are a luxury to have, like being an artist who just gets to paint all day or a travel agent who gets to make money seeing the world in the process. These are seem as not real jobs as if they are fake and make fake money in exchange for their work. It looks even worse if you actually sought out these jobs on purpose or poured money into an education on learning how to make those jobs into a career long term.
      If you really want to get it right, stop caring what others think in the first place and just do what you want and stop acting like your job needs to better the rest of the world or please other and thinking otherwise that it’s not valid enough to fit in. Life’s too short to just work a job. Does finding your way in the world also not include doing things that you find fulfilling instead of just doing what’s expected of you by people who don’t pay for bills or sleep next to you/under your roof? Most jobs today do NOT check that box. It’s expected that it should for you and for you to like it regardless of how you feel and just be happy that you’re actually able to work. As much as finding gratitude in life IS important, that shouldn’t be confused with trying to trick yourself into doing something you hate and convincing yourself you SHOULD find value in something you don’t JUST because you have an obligation to contribute to society.
      Like I said, life’s too short for all of that crap and the best why to actually be able to have your time spent more wisely is to not waste it to make you feel like you need to ‘buy it back’ in the first place.

Cuz we notice the easier you work the less energy you burn out of you, when or if you have too much energy to control yourself of and the less weight you burn down also.

    I have found it hard to love my job anymore since my new manager has shown himself to be a sexist bully. He has discriminated against me and my husband to his face that if he had it his way, that he would not have either of us working the same job together. We are Shuttle Drivers for a hospital. He has also discriminated against me because I am a woman in front of patients and other so workers & I was not even on the clock yet & he threatened me to have me removed.

    I worked hard my whole life from my teens to now. Self employed for over 25 years is the way to go. Pay less taxes, no bullshit from cheap employers, have my dignity, paid what I am worth. Shall I go on. Now a stay at home dad and still work part time for myself and loving it. Cheap ass employers can take all their jobs and shove it. Congrats to the great resignation and everyone leaving the workforce. You are better off, will be happier and have dignity in your life that you stood up to the establishment. God bless you all.

    In South Africa we have these skilled workers who are looking for jobs but unfortunately the corrupt government crippled our economy. Plumbers, boiler maker's, electricians and so forth. Those who can afford it goes to another country especially Australia who takes them with a smile unfortunately not everyone can afford it. They are highly disciplined as most of them was in the 1970 and 1980's in the South African Militarily as it was compulsory so they are very hard workers. It is heartbreaking to see these hard working people without hope.

    James 2:14-17 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

    What do they call it? WFH? How about your fired. Today companies need to hire 3 people to do the job that requires only 1. Whats the other saying? Work life balance. I love that one. I've been through 3 recessions so far. The next one is just around the corner. If a person has been riding the train at work trust me you going to be on the street. It's coming. I love the ones that think a company can't do without them. Those are the ones that go first. If you have a business card that has the word VP on it trust me your gone. I love the companies that have 35 VPs. I'm a smart guy and I never figured that one out. If I was a middle manager I would not sleep at night. Good people don't need to be managed. A secretary can do that. The recession is on its way. This will be my 4th. I'm so glad I'm done. If you don't produce anything that adds to the bottom line at your company. Your gone. Why would a company pay someone 6 figures when they can get someone for a third of that? And come to the office everyday. Unemployment pays about $270.00 per week. You will do just fine. Good luck.

    2 Thesolonians 3 10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.
    13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. 14 And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
