In my river in Ohio a green pumpkin bitsy bug/rage menace trailer rigged like a bluegill imitation has been killer. I also been catching them on rage swimmers on a BPS speed shad head, shakey heads and wacky rigs. Got 11 bass today in a few hours and missed a couple others. I can't wait to get back out there tomorrow!
Spot on Ty. My omission was a spy bait so I've got to check those out. Popper baits are always good for me, Texas rig and frogs next. Thanks for sharing. Blessings brother
Caught a 5.2 lb largemouth outta lake mead in Nevada on Friday morning on a popper. Not a giant but that’s a huge bass for that lake. I literally watched him come up and eat it cause the water was crystal clear. Great video as always Tyler those are some great recommendations for the month of July 👍
I swear by a Heddon Torpedo for a spybait. Been using one for years and years for late summer & fall fishing. I even won a tourney on just 2 torpedos, a silver one and a blue one. It worked all day too. Alot of guys only do top water early in the morning, but in July-August the fish will come up to the surface if you get their attention.
I’ve got some Berkley Spybaits I’ve had mediocre success on. I think the main problem is I fish suuuuper urban pressured lakes that are just hard to catch a fish in general. I do like the spybaits though.
@@DudefishhTV Sounds like most of the lakes around here also. I have to drive 50-1oo miles to find a lake that's not so fished out that the bass are skittish of everything. People don't realize how smart bass really are. You might try some different tactics, when I find a lake or pond like that I'll change it up to a jitterbug, hula popper, or silver minnow. Something that's either more subtle or deeper plops that the fish aren't used to.
I fish for trout, panfish, and bass. I use spinners like rooster tails and panther martins and soft plastics with jigheads. What would be the most all-around rod choice in both power and action to fit all of that pretty well?
hi Tyler, yep love the gfix80 spybait. Works great on spots. Crazy surprise I got last week…casting into 30’ water for schoolers and got the hardest spybait hit of my life!! Could have sworn it was 5lb Spot but….no. A 7.6lb channel cat. 😂😂. needless to say I had to re-tie as that puppy slimed about a foot of my 6 pound florocarbon.
I use the Vmc or g7 bands save worm And with Vmc crossover bands you can wacky rig or neko with same band . Saves a lot of work or what ever you are neko or using for senko
I've never caught a fish on a frog lol. I am new however, all my success so far is from a wacky worm, tried texas rig for about 2 days and never got anything. Can't wait to get more experience with these setups tho!
does a circle hook increase hookups and avoid deep hooking on a dropshot? by the way love the information you have gave me. and i love the omnia app that has increased my catches for sure.
I was fishing a swim jig in a lake I fish all the time and I cast to a tree laying off the bank into the water with a gap towards the bank and I get a bite and it felt like I hooked a truck it got 2ft from the boat jumped and threw my hook and it made me sick because it was the biggest bass I had ever seen in person about 7 to 8lbs
He's possibly made that tree his lair. You may want to try a plastic worm next time, but don't let him get you wrapped around the log. Hope ya get him!!
I have had such bad luck with anything other than a wacky senko that I can't even imagine catching a bass on a dropshot or texas rig. Legit never even gotten a bite on either one.
Keep trying the drop shot with a size two drop shot hook. And what you wanna use is a 4inch ox blood roboworm trust me it’s lethal. Also work it slow sometimes these bass want it slow
I had a week or two where I only had a Texas rig with this crazy yellow worm. Could have been luck with the beds but I got a good amount. I like them during spawn
I got a question for y’all, I’m a new angler and I’ve been fishing for a few months, it’s my first hobby. I’ve gotten EXTREMELY passionate about it and it’s seriously helping my life. That being said, how the heck do you guys know what you’re fishing around? “If you’re fishing around stumps, brush, logs under water etc” how do I figure that out? I’m in Orlando, Florida and the water clarity is pretty swampy/mucky freshwater lakes so I can’t see through the water. Also, I’m having trouble even using all the recommended tackle catching bass. Is this because I’m going to fishing piers which have 30+ people per day throwing these lures? I’ve literally had a bait directly in front of a 2-3lb bass (would’ve been a PR for me) and he looked at it, swam around it and left. Is this because the fish have adapted to learn the lures? Any advice would be awesome. And if anyone is in my area I could use some friends if anyone wants to go on a fishing trip!
Some boats have underwater sonar to see what's around them. I fish from shore and use a crank bait dragging the bottom. I can use this to find out what's around me as far as structure, dropoff and vegetation.
Instead of usin the popper when they are hitting at a normal walking bait just down size the walking bait so they take it. They may not even look at the popper but you already know they are after a walking bait lol smh
6’6 is my favorite for kayak fishing. Good casting distance, but still short enough to get under trees. Hell, I even keep a 5’6 ultra light in my kayak for when the bite gets rough 😂
Hey new to the channel love that your from Ohio too here is one of my favorite ponds if you find yourself in the area. Veterans Memorial Park, OH-301, Spencer, OH 44275. resident fishing hole.

Never can go wrong with a popper , on vacation this week caught 13 bass on popper, best bass of the week was this morning, 20 3/4" 4.22 lbs
Been loving the whopper plopper. Was getting hit cast after cast today.

Bass, like most fish, don't actually speak.

Been T rigging the sweet beaver this past spring and its caught me more largemouth than the D bomb.
Tyler, - greatly appreciate your videos, has really gotten me excited again about fishing and hitting the lake more!!! thank you
I like fishing the Neko weightless and just shaking the rod pausing so on . I have more fun doing this and catch numbers and size with it.

GREAT top baits video. Right up my alley. All 5 of these are on my deck this month, and often times year round.

I hear you preach parabolic composite rods all the time but they’re just so expensive
