    Great idea that Arrow and Metrolink share a track at the same time.

    i grew up in glendora and chased trains there. i am glad my 2nd district still survives under new ownership. i remember trains 3 and 4 m the super chief east and west , the el cap and the super . the only train left was 3 and 4 but were re routed thru fullerton. thanks for sharing. this just hit my recs even thouh this was a month ago.

      just saw this comment. As someone who is a bit too young to remember the Santa Fe days of the 2nd district I always enjoy hearing stories from when the line was whole. My channel is dedicated to above anything else, documenting what remains of that line in addition to the other things I film. Thanks for watching!

    Yay! I love riding the new train to railfanning spots around SoCal, and it is great to have it. You said they "return" to Redlands. Where they once here? Keep up the good work, Colin!

    • @PasadenaSubColin
      @PasadenaSubColin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes passenger trains ran to redlands until 1938 when they were discontinued, and the tracks were pretty much unused until now except for some freight service. thanks for watching!

    Thanks Colin. Hopefully you can show us some BNSF action on the Redlands branch too!

    • @PasadenaSubColin
      @PasadenaSubColin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sure hope so, however the BNSF local is rumored to run late at night now once every 2-3 months

    • @IllBeStamped
      @IllBeStamped 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What local is that?? Can you tell me a little more about it?

    • @PasadenaSubColin
      @PasadenaSubColin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IllBeStamped no particular local, just whatever SBD yard job has work assigned on the branch, i've only eve seen it once in my 13 years of railfanning. it runs at night once every few months

      That's what I did, I know some station guards don't like filming

      So according to you Redlands is "disgusting" because they added a convenient method of transportation for the city. Good thing you left, we don't want your privileged, out of touch attitude here

    The Arrow train is definitely a hydrogen-powered train, at the same time it looks too similar to what caltrain electric look like.

    • @PasadenaSubColin
      @PasadenaSubColin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the particular DMUs in service on arrow currently are diesel powered with planned Hydrogen conversion sometime in the future, they are made by Stadler, which also makes the KISS units for Caltrain

      The Metrolink express runs on weekdays, and they use the same tracks as the arrow. Not sure where you're getting that outlandish information from
