A free way to make the Honda 500 line sound a lot better is to remove the air intake snorkel. It only takes a minute and makes it sound more throaty under wide-open throttle (doesn't change normal riding sound). I really like these bikes for doing a bit of everything. Inredibly reliable and long-lasting, cheap to run, comfortable, and enough power/torque to have some fun.
@@SunshineFML It's just two screws to remove and it comes off -- goes back on just as easily. The snorkel is just a 90-degree intake piece but it quiets it up.
Heck yeah! Good to see the return of a Honda 500 standard! I became a subscriber when it was you and the Hornet doing things I didn't think were possible on a Hornet. I've been enjoying your videos since of so many other great bikes.
Wonderful video once again! I completely agree on how the modern CB500 rides. It's very well balanced, and very confidence-inspiring, which is one of my favorite things in a motorcycle. I wish there was a bit more fizz in the top-end, but it's still a great bike. I hope I can ride the new Hornet 750 soon, because if they do everything they did with the CB500, and combine it with a more exciting engine, it'll be one of the GOAT. Btw, will we see the Little Honda again, at some point? Those were some of my favorite videos back when you were riding it on camera.
Me too, I really hope I can have a go with the new Hornet later this year!!! I struggle to find the right time to resurrect Little Honda from her hibernation but I have not given up on that project yet!
Great to see you out on a 500 again, and to hear the old soundtrack! Glad you won’t lose your rental deposit by having to replace their pegs. Haha, hero blobs have their place!
This brings me back to similar video on cb500f from... 4 (?) years ago which was the first of your videos I remember watching. Thank you for all the content, mate! ❤
Some nostalgic peg scraping at the start. But you're definitely safer about your driving, your lean angles aren't as crazy as the old CB500 video's. Great video though, I always like seeing you drive a CB.
Awesome ride! Though the leaning clearance is so weird. Your pegs are so close from what I've seen as a small lean angle, yet you feel it all the way. From that and your old CB500, how would you compare their handlings?
Manchmal, "going back to basics" sagt uns, woher wir gekommen sind. LG :)
12:20 That is the first time I have seen 6 inch hero blobs ! What do you mean "that is not 6 inches?!?!" That will be a good looking bike when Honda get round to finishing the front end...
Nice riding there and a nice growl from the Honda twin. What workouts would you recommend if you want to do a lot of riding on slower curves without feeling sore afterwards? 6:24 quick shortcut to the bottom 😮 I wonder why there's no railing at that section.
Hey, I recently bought a cb500f 2022, and saw, that your model there had handguards, and was wondering, if you know, where to find those. My fingers would thank me. Nice riding btw
I liked the endfield classic 350 sound. But these isnt far away. I think with leo vince or akrapovic you can start party. What do you think its better for fun... the honda cb 500 family or the nc 750 dct family? These is the question for my next bike.
@@Schaaf I ask because I want to put something better than Givi that I got on my Nc750 but I am afraid to remove the weights it has inside, and those heavy bar ends, I don't want numb fingers after 100km.
Its crazy to some people a 500 is little haha. I started with a 125 so my CBR500R is a huge step up for me lol. And yeah, the low rumbling, backfire spitting twin at cruising speeds is always welcome, until they put a 270 crank in there lol
Really miss the little Honda. Question, isn't it far more fun to ride a bike like a CB500, where you can use it to its limit, than to ride a superbike , where "normal" riders can't get anywhere near its limit, even on track?
It touches down pretty quick. Not the best ground clearance. This video is a good example that you don’t need a big engine to go fast. As long as you have as much skills as Schaaf. I need a big engine 😉
Scraping peg nearly every bend. Makes me excited for summer.
thanks
thats winter weather in gran canaria! Its like the bikers dream winter resort. It almost has too many corners and perfect asphalt.
Really miss that Cb500 of yours. The sound of it, with you riping on it, was just beautifull to see and hear
Go go Little Honda go!! 😉 It's so soothing and thrilling to watch you ride this very special bike. I ride a 2017 CB500X and love it!!! ❤️
Except down low where the engine is unpleasant the CB500X is really enjoyable to ride, very comfy and nimble, also very good mileage.

It's crazy how much better the current 500 sounds compared to my 2018, and that is compared to the older ones (older, but still somewhat new)
Lol why does it have those pegs?
I was wondering why your bike was scraping so early.
Sorry for the repetition, but is the v100 mandello arrived there? I really can’t wait to see a RAW on that beauty!
Superb experience
thanks again
You should consider making more wideos with the Little Honda again. ;)
I wish I had the time
The old cb 500 can rev alot more but which one is more fun to drive for you?

6:24 quick shortcut to the bottom 😮 I wonder why there's no railing at that section.
I'm surprised how similar 180 degree parallel twins sound to singles at lower revs. They really don't set themselves apart until about 7,000 rpm.
I guess

4:04 "when staying on overrun in the low revs" what does this mean exactly? I'd love to try to see if my bike reacts the same way as this one
when your bike is rolling without throttle applied in the low RPM region

is that stock sound
? also whats that scraping sounds when your on a tighter corner

Could you do a review of Crossrunner 800VFR for us please? PLEASE! I would like to see what YOU say about that honda bike. PLEASEEE!
How often have you gotten ticketed riding like this in Europe?
That the stock exhaust sound?….
Is this more nimble and fun than a Royal Enfield 650? This bike is same price or more than RE in US.
It definitely handles more neutral and its suspension is a bit more stable. The Honda is the better bike when it comes to quality of used parts
How does the vibration compare to a single cylinder? Does your right hand get numb after 30 minutes like mine does on my Kawasaki KLX300SM?
it doesn't get numb at all
