The Scorpion G can now miss point blank shots, repeatedly throw fully aimed shots in the ground, and deflect a shell from a light tank with a 30mm plate hit at 90 degrees to the impact. When I first had this tank it was possible to get 5,000-6,000 hit point games and five or six kills, now 3,500 and three kills is the best I see. Invisibly nerfed.
With electronics you don't need to explicitly plan for obsolescence, just use cheap parts and you can be pretty sure that some cap or diode dies. "Sorry sir, we don't produce that circuit board anymore" Happened to my display monitor after 6 years, amplifier after 5 years, kitchen appliance after 2.5 years. Most I can fix myself when it comes to simple components, but that's not so for most people.
Capacitors are one of the components most likely to die. But it's easy to see when they do, and they're also one of the easiest components to replace. Just make sure you get one that has the same capacitance, and the same _or higher_ voltage rating.

It's true, when I made some anti Wargames comments All my tanks were nerved Xp was lowered 0% success in multiplayer, Every team I was on got annihilated >5 mins I finally quit and gave up. Multiplayer has become an almost impossible feat to accomplish.

I can empathize. This is a pretty regular occurrence for me when I try to snipe from distance. To me it feels like when I log in, the game either has a win or lose setting applied, and that determines my RNG. I have gone so far as to exit the game, wait a minute and restart. Invariably, after many losses in a row with consistently horrible RNG, when I restart my win rate increases and my RNG is suddenly good.

Another bait and switch was the Excelsior. When I first got mine, I felt invincible. As long as you didn't expose your side to the enemy, you were good. Even the ass had great armor. I was cleaning up on the battlefield when I first got it. Now, every shot seems to pen me. It is a slow tank, with an ok gun, so the armor was the main selling point. The armor seems to be useless now, so I don't like playing it much anymore.
Everything about this game is fixed. If you don’t think the mismatch maker manipulates the gameplay you probably spent 90 dollars on a tank from these crooks. The snap feature says it all, fully aim miss badly, point at a target blindly and hit wow shows you how the game works. I also remember when it first came out and had a free rental. Ten games and all of a sudden I had ten losses in a row. The completely random 10 game losing streak. Back then I knew the mm was manipulating gameplay. The winning and losing streaks are what has me convinced of manipulation by the mismatch maker.
Streaks are the norm with MM and not the exception that they should be. By design or by flaw it's common to see streaks with single digit probability multiple times in just a few days.
Wargaming might be doing the same thing with World of Warships. The premium BB West Virginia '44 was OP for the weeks of the Dockyard event, where you can grind and get it. I had massive games in it, the guns hit everything in sight and hard. Past week? Nope. The shells are spraying everywhere, I can't citadel a stationary broadside BB in 4-5 tries. The dispersion used to be tight, now it's wild. Perhaps it was just RNG. But the pattern is there, too. So idk, but I'll keep playing it and watching the dispersion.
If you want to buy a product that lasts, whether it's fridges, dishwashers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, look for the commercial grade products. Because businesses need products that will keep working reliably, that's what the commercial grade products are for. The consumer grade products are the ones that will break after 5-10 years or however long.
hey Claus, when it comes to machinery, the phrase your looking for is " time stamp" the point where engineered wear points fail, and cause new machines to be purchased
Part of the mechanic that WG slipped into the game, is 'shell drop' guns that used to be super accurate, now have greater 'shell drop' over distance (old game mechanics, your shell always flew in a straight line from where you fired to the impact point) and the shell drop I have recently been using with 'slower' shells to actually lob a shell over a hill and hit a tank on the other side of a hill (low hill roll sort of area) at LONG distance. There is another added mechanic where WG changed the aiming to 'calculate' at the aim point, and now the shell does fly rather differently like that one shot the Skorp took to the back (was it T30?) as it backed up on the hill roll to duck under the ridge line partially, the Skorp shell flew way UP and over. I see things like this in battles all the time now. The other mechanic that got slipped in was the shell damage value from range, you will find now, that if you are long range sniping, more often than not, you will low roll (like 4/5 shells) because of the 'distance' - this mechanic was improvised into the game for the STAR Shell rounds which do TONS more damage up close, but very poor damage at mid/long range, sadly the poor programming by WG didn't separate this in the programming, and it has carried to every other gun in game (with different damage deviations based on the min/max).
Happens to me a lot nowadays. Sometimes you can hit the eye of a needle and other times you can't even hit the barn door. I am starting to believe that when you hit your positive RNG quota, the game starts shiting on you.
This is surprising as I have noticed that on a game with low % win chance by XVM, My shells will tend to miss a LOT more. On wins, not so much. And I'm not totally carrying the games, I could have reversed a lot of losses if I got normal miss %. I play same so not me.

My Scorpion has degraded to about this point as well, used to be god like gun handling, now totally unpredictable on what it does. Careful center mass fully aimed recital does not reliably hit anymore.
I can attest to my Scorp doing the same thing. Hit a Nomad where I can pen literally everywhere and got 0 dmg. But most times, just miss and miss and miss.
I was one of the first players to buy the tier 7 scorpion. I loved it and managed to 3 mark it. Then after a while something changed and now its just one of those tanks that feels off and I stopped playing. Just think we are being screwed over by special RNG to get us to buy other tanks
I am going to show this to a platoon mate. Scorpion is his go to tank and he has been lately experiencing the same gun handling issues. I am sure his crew skills are 5+.

Skorpion and Grille 15 have that stupid thing: If aim reticle has a few pixels of terrain, shell is going to hit that pixels. Missing a few perfect shots is a normal day Skorpion experience. However missing that much means bad luck day.
All clan mates said, buy the scorpion give you lot of credit you must have it... it come to the store and I brought it. It sucks. I have similar game play what this player had. Fully aimed shots miss 75%. I was happy watching this video, made me feel better about myself as it is not me it is the tank :D. Thank you Claus!

I have over 13k battles in Skorpion with 2 marks of excellence. I too have seen this degradation in my tank, the guys I play in platoons with are constantly hearing me say "they did something to my tank!". Oh and if I am shooting at russian tanks I have a model I follow: you need to shoot them 3 times before you get a pen! Not so often does this happen but I have noticed at times shooting AP, rounds flying like an APCR (velocity wise) and vice versa. There is definitely some funny business going on with these guys. Slow rounds, fast rounds (velocity manipulation of rounds), vanishing rounds (no accountability) it helps to see in replays and a lot of low rolls at inconvenient times or getting burned up like near the end of game and your team is losing big time.
TL-7. I have a 30% win rate in it because I can't land a shot and I can't pen (shot a Kv-5 in the side and bounced 2/4 shells). It has a 40.31 second reload for 4 shells of 360 damage. It has literally no armor and my top speed with a turbo is 53. In a bush, I have worse camo than virtually all tier 8-10 heavy tanks driving in the open somehow.
7-8 years ago, WG decreased the shell velocity on the German 128mm guns to expand the dispersion distribution in the aiming circle. Why? Because of all the complaints of laser-like accuracy; you could actually very consistently hit weak spots. (That was also before TD view ranges were nerfed to make them more dependent on their spotters and camo decrease after firing was increased.) So don't expect consistent accuracy from any German TD, ever.

Years ago when I first started playing, my favorite tank was the M-12 Arty. (This was before the great arty nerf) I almost couldn't miss with it---many fantastic shots. All of a sudden I started missing most of my shots---it was a secret nerf. I wrote them and they would not own any kind of nerf. I was incredibly angry. I know how this guy feels.
Yes I feel rng and match making is horrible some days on this tank. I’ll have an average of 4000 combined dmg and get stuck on the losing team five games in a row. Then I get on the winning team I can’t hit a shot to save my life.
There are some games where you don't aim properly and hit everything, and then some games you aim fully and miss everything, its the RNG in this game it sucks
But if you aim higher, the shell will go into orbit. You cannot win with the RNG against you regardless how accurate the tank is, with the equipment, consummables and so on. It's all a red herring
Aiming at the tracks is what he was doing trying to track them for extra assistance damage. But the shell shouldn't drop 85% of the time against slow targets.
I agree, was my thought too .... still I have the Scorpion G and somehow it feels kinda weird since hmmm .... a year? When the shell goes down and i think .... gosh think! you aimed to low and gravity pulls it down ..... try to be better. Then i try to aim better and consider gravity etc. ... then suddenly it goes up like hell and i think ... wow negative gravity. I am only a very average player, but with that tank it seems pretty weird sometimes. Still .... its a game :)
I have the Skorpion and it is probably the most frustrating "tank" to play out of all of my tanks. I have had the dispersion down to .27 and used to hit the vast majority of my shots. Lately I only hit about 55% of my shots. I don't play it much anymore unless I need some credits, so the overall hit rate in the years I have had it is 72.54% (which shows how good it really was at one time). Besides that, bounces off of lights have become a regular occurrence.
In fact lets make a list of tanks that used to be amazing, and fun, and now, are either nerfed to crap, or gone completely. I know a few: The excelsior, the KV 2, I think the T 18 at tier 2 (gone now), SU 100, AMX ELC, every arty, etc. It is just getting insane. Keep the list going guys. I am sure I missed many tanks.
The very first Premium to be nerf'd was the Type 59...even after Wargaming said that they didn't...until it was finally removed from the game back in 7.2 or 7.3. The writing has always been on the wall when it comes to Wargaming and nerfing tanks that people spent REAL money on when it was time to release the new premium hotness.
The distance he is at ,and the size of the reticle is expanded for that distance and the shells are all with in the circle. He is making an error that many do. When you have an elevated position and aiming down and aiming over the back track only , you have less to hit. At that distance always try and aim at the side and include the turret in your sites. He was also aiming to low consistently, rewind it and you will see. I have a 3 marked Skorp G and have had it to 100% moe and often in the top10 on na server in that tank. RNG treated him like everyone else and next game it will give him 2 pixel shots . When it comes to whining, many have the BOUNTY whining perk ! 😂
I agree with you. There are a lot of tanks that don’t preform the way they use to. I’m not spending anymore money on this game either. I am at the point where WG owes a refund to its player base.
All the German tanks are like this. They are supposed to be accurate; they are only accurate when it is 12:0 and you aim for 5 minutes then you might hit.
No one can see the source code of the game so its pretty easy for them to put 25-50% better RNG when they release premiums then remove it once they have sold enough.
I have the Skorpion, not the G, with 900ish battles in it the hit rate is about %55, the dispersion is .26. Before you start I know how to aim it :) What I see is a lot of what he got, the rounds just go all over or ghost round thru them. The physics of a round accelerating and going up after it's fired is a WG secret.

This is why I deleted the game about 5 years ago.Everything is just BS. Win 5 games in a row? Well, you WILL lose your next 5, no matter what you do. It felt as if I had no agency, and after thinking about it I realised I was not actually enjoying the game. Sure, there was the odd battle that was fun, but most of the time it was just an exercise in frustration, and I do not miss it at all.
I agree with you Claus. Wargaming works like a casino who's allowed to cheat. If you owned a casino who wasn't subject to any laws and controls... what would you do? Not bias the roulette? Not alter the slot machine? It would be nearly stupid not to do it. It's capitalism.

This reminds me of the stvr s1. Amazing when I first got it years ago. Now the gun misses 9 out of 10 shells at close range. 100 meters or less.
I was one of the first players to buy the tier 7 scorpion. I loved it and managed to 3 mark it. Then after a while something changed and now its just one of those tanks that feels off and I stopped playing. Just think we are being screwed over by special RNG to get us to buy other tanks

The Scorpion's RNG in that game is about what I get on average in my T95, except my reload is horrendous!
I am going to show this to a platoon mate. Scorpion is his go to tank and he has been lately experiencing the same gun handling issues. I am sure his crew skills are 5+.

He is aiming to low. There is a drop in the shell as the distance gets further out. So it's his aiming.

Skorpion and Grille 15 have that stupid thing: If aim reticle has a few pixels of terrain, shell is going to hit that pixels.
Missing a few perfect shots is a normal day Skorpion experience. However missing that much means bad luck day.

All clan mates said, buy the scorpion give you lot of credit you must have it... it come to the store and I brought it. It sucks. I have similar game play what this player had. I have over 13k battles in Skorpion with 2 marks of excellence. I too have seen this degradation in my tank, the guys I play in platoons with are constantly hearing me say "they did something to my tank!". Oh and if I am shooting at russian tanks I have a model I follow: you need to shoot them 3 times before you get a pen! Not so often does this happen but I have noticed at times shooting AP, rounds flying like an APCR (velocity wise) and vice versa. There is definitely some funny business going on with these guys. Slow rounds, fast rounds (velocity manipulation of rounds), vanishing rounds (no accountability) it helps to see in replays and a lot of low rolls at inconvenient times or getting burned up like near the end of game and your team is losing big time.

TL-7. I have a 30% win rate in it because I can't land a shot and I can't pen (shot a Kv-5 in the side and bounced 2/4 shells). It has a 40.31 second reload for 4 shells of 360 damage. It has literally no armor and my top speed with a turbo is 53. In a bush, I have worse camo than virtually all tier 8-10 heavy tanks driving in the open somehow.
This is not Scorpion G , it is the older single scorpion without the the standard "G" camouflage.
Once up on a time I used to play Su130pm, but this mechanics forced me to sell my lovely TD! I think you right😢
7-8 years ago, WG decreased the shell velocity on the German 128mm guns to expand the dispersion distribution in the aiming circle. Why? Because of all the complaints of laser-like accuracy; you could actually very consistently hit weak spots. (That was also before TD view ranges were nerfed to make them more dependent on their spotters and camo decrease after firing was increased.) So don't expect consistent accuracy from any German TD, ever.
My grandfather didn't buy $h1t. Now that I have a challenged hairline onset by years of corporate greed, shady marketing, and political stupid, I can appreciate why.

Years ago when I first started playing, my favorite tank was the M-12 Arty. (This was before the great arty nerf) I almost couldn't miss with it---many fantastic shots. All of a sudden I started missing most of my shots---it was a secret nerf. I wrote them and they would not own any kind of nerf. I was incredibly angry. I know how this guy feels.

Yes I feel rng and match making is horrible some days on this tank. I’ll have an average of 4000 combined dmg and get stuck on the losing team five games in a row. Then I get on the winning team I can’t hit a shot to save my life.

Not an expert or a fanboi, but I felt Mr Scorp was aiming a bit low with that shell velocity.
There are some games where you don't aim properly and hit everything, and then some games you aim fully and miss everything, its the RNG in this game it sucks

But if you aim higher, the shell will go into orbit. You cannot win with the RNG against you regardless how accurate the tank is, with the equipment, consummables and so on. It's all a red herring
Aiming at the tracks is what he was doing trying to track them for extra assistance damage. But the shell shouldn't drop 85% of the time against slow targets.
I agree, was my thought too .... still I have the Scorpion G and somehow it feels kinda weird since hmmm .... a year? When the shell goes down and i think .... gosh think! you aimed to low and gravity pulls it down ..... try to be better. Then i try to aim better and consider gravity etc. ... then suddenly it goes up like hell and i think ... wow negative gravity. I am only a very average player, but with that tank it seems pretty weird sometimes. Still .... its a game :)

I have the Skorpion and it is probably the most frustrating "tank" to play out of all of my tanks. I have had the dispersion down to .27 and used to hit the vast majority of my shots. Lately I only hit about 55% of my shots. I don't play it much anymore unless I need some credits, so the overall hit rate in the years I have had it is 72.54% (which shows how good it really was at one time). Besides that, bounces off of lights have become a regular occurrence.
When you WG says it's time to lose, they will make it very, very difficult

In fact lets make a list of tanks that used to be amazing, and fun, and now, are either nerfed to crap, or gone completely. I know a few: The excelsior, the KV 2, I think the T 18 at tier 2 (gone now), SU 100, AMX ELC, every arty, etc. It is just getting insane. Keep the list going guys. I am sure I missed many tanks.
The very first Premium to be nerf'd was the Type 59...even after Wargaming said that they didn't...until it was finally removed from the game back in 7.2 or 7.3.
The writing has always been on the wall when it comes to Wargaming and nerfing tanks that people spent REAL money on when it was time to release the new premium hotness.

The distance he is at ,and the size of the reticle is expanded for that distance and the shells are all with in the circle. He is making an error that many do. When you have an elevated position and aiming down and aiming over the back track only , you have less to hit. At that distance always try and aim at the side and include the turret in your sites. He was also aiming to low consistently, rewind it and you will see. I have a 3 marked Skorp G and have had it to 100% moe and often in the top10 on na server in that tank. RNG treated him like everyone else and next game it will give him 2 pixel shots . When it comes to whining, many have the BOUNTY whining perk ! 😂
Was playing my Badger yesterday, we were losing, three shots into a tank broad sided, all ducked down to the dirt. WG will screw you.
I agree with you. There are a lot of tanks that don’t preform the way they use to. I’m not spending anymore money on this game either. I am at the point where WG owes a refund to its player base.
All the German tanks are like this. They are supposed to be accurate; they are only accurate when it is 12:0 and you aim for 5 minutes then you might hit.
No one can see the source code of the game so its pretty easy for them to put 25-50% better RNG when they release premiums then remove it once they have sold enough.

I have the Skorpion, not the G, with 900ish battles in it the hit rate is about %55, the dispersion is .26. Before you start I know how to aim it :)
What I see is a lot of what he got, the rounds just go all over or ghost round thru them. The physics of a round accelerating and going up after it's fired is a WG secret.

It’s not just premium tanks. A perfect example is the T57 heavy. It struggles to pen tier 8.

This is why I deleted the game about 5 years ago.Everything is just BS. Win 5 games in a row? Well, you WILL lose your next 5, no matter what you do. It felt as if I had no agency, and after thinking about it I realised I was not actually enjoying the game. Sure, there was the odd battle that was fun, but most of the time it was just an exercise in frustration, and I do not miss it at all.
Planned obsolescence is the term you're looking for.

I agree with you Claus. Wargaming works like a casino who's allowed to cheat. If you owned a casino who wasn't subject to any laws and controls... what would you do? Not bias the roulette? Not alter the slot machine? It would be nearly stupid not to do it. It's capitalism.
