It'll really get creepy when you are taking a shower in your newly redone bath and he pokes his head in and says/asks: "So you're taking a shower! Do you lather from top to bottom, pausing in the middle? Or do you lather from bottom to top, pausing in the middle?" Your animation while describing this adventure of human interaction is truly comical.

The problem with most herbal Teas these days is created, as usual, by letting marketers and accountants design the product. They'll use the cheapest possible product, dried in the cheapest, fastest possible way; which ensures it loses all it's flavour and most of it's volatile aromatics. Because everyone expects a nice smell, through the plastic wrapping the box, when they are choosing a tea to buy; they'll add in production, natural essences and sometimes artificial perfumes which range from having no flavour to having an astringent bitter flavour.
This is why they smell fantastic in the box, even better when hot water is first added, but taste like damp straw when you sip it.
I know trades people who will happily talk all day doing nothing and leave exactly on time no matter where the conversation is, "..so she's laying there and I'm thinking...Oh 5 o clock see you tomorrow.". It's just nuts.
I feel your pain. When your brain is shooting "shut the fuck up", but your responding with just enough not to be an asshole. Some people just don't pick up on the non-verbal queues we put out.
I cannot watch it either... messes my head up.
When having work done, like a home renovation; Done on time. Done well. Low cost. You may only pick two of them. but you will always have to pay for all three.
Claus chose done well at a low cost and are now paying for the choice with his time being wasted.

The Tile Guy is obviously trying to understand your culture. If you were to meet him in public and tell him what you do for a living, he would be equally as baffled as he was with mushrooms in your omelet. The second game was good! Thanks Claus.

Getting the contractor to feel like a friend, or a very friendly situation, is more likely to get them to do a more personable job than a half assed professional one in my humble opinion and experience.
I offer them drinks and chips too. I usually give each guy a beer to take home each day if they will take it.

We had the bath and a half gutted down to studs 18 months ago. One contractor wanted 90% of the job at contract signing…before even showing up to start. Needless to say we did not pick him.
I'd be surprised if that's even legal of him to request, not sure on tradie legislation, but most countries have strict laws limiting building contractors pre-start request to less than 20% of final price.

'Two birds with one stone' has lost it's meaning over the years but imagine having to go out hunting (poaching) no guns cause you'd be found out. So you use a sling and off you set, determined to ease the hunger of your family. Now picture getting two birds, with one shot. All your birthdays come at once, your family is fed and you're not caught. As close to a working class blessing, as you can comprehend.
As for workman, well I am one. You describe someone a little lonely and justifying their price. The cleanliness is a little disturbing though, usually a red flag for quality issues but glad to hear that's not the case. Have a great day, my friend.

I used to do drywall and painting. I've never heard of contractors being overly friendly, like that. The most I've seen are scary or off-putting ex-cons. They're great guys to work with tho. Just turning over a new leaf.

I used to know all the contractors in my area when I was in the business, so it was easy to know the right guys to hire to do work when I needed something done. Now all the people that do stuff are different, so I end up doing everything myself because I don't know anyone I can trust. I'm out of that loop. I'm glad I know how to do everything pretty much on a house, but I'm 67 years old and doing floors and roofs is painful. I know if I hire someone to do things they're going to overcharge and do lousy work. I don't have any answers for that. Hopefully you don't get screwed Claus.

I agree, I just left comment above how most modern herbal teas are garbage, lacking in any real flavour or health benefit, with perfumes added so they smell pretty in the box and when you add hot water.
Ginger, tumeric and coconut milk - all fresh and add cayenne or black pepper is astoundingly good for recovering full health.

Try renewing the plumber's putty seal around the drain flange. If there is any tension built into the drain system, pulling down on the drain assembly, it can cause a very slow creep of the putty, whenever the putty is warmed and softened by the heat of repeated hot water exposures. Eventually, all the putty to one side creeps out and the leaking begins. Just throwing that out there for ya, Claus, one more simple, not costly, possibility. IF your drain assembly does not use plumber's putty in the installation, ignore this suggestion. Good luck!

How does a third-party plumber come to give you a price for a renovation even though he's never been there? I own 6 terraced houses in Germany that are now 5 years old, the bathrooms are designed completely differently than in North America. The toilets hang on the walls so you can wipe under them, the automatic flush is in the wall and not on the toilet. The shower is not fixed but can be removed so you can wash anywhere. My bathrooms don't have a shower curtain because the entire shower is practically a room without a tub, the tiles are set in bitumen cement and are absolutely tight. I paid 11,000 euros for each bathroom with 2 sinks, shower, toilet and bathtub, with underfloor heating and towel heating

Must only happen in Canada. Most trades people are very professional. I just replaced my tub/shower bath combo for a step in tub with shower and jet system. They cleaned up after every move.
That's a good reason for someone to learn lay tiles themselves.

Claus i have run into people like that before. 10 days to do a 2 day job lol. Still better than having a contractor who does it so quickly & shoddily then leaves massive mess over everything. It's like flipping a coin. After leaving the Marine Corps i worked for a house builder/general contractor for a yr . I would do what he wanted then he would talk & force you to have a coffee with him . Give you something else that took 15 min then he is talking to a friend contractor for an hour. I swear i worked 2 hrs the whole day & waited for him or watched him talk to someone the rest of the day .I actually got tired just waiting twitiling my thumbs.

I agree Claus. Why would someone send in a great replay, if they are going to zoom in and out all through it? Nobody wants to watch that. So these people go through all the trouble of having a great game, downloading it, and sending it in, but it is unwatchable. Personally, i would tell anyone who sends in a video with all the zooming in and out, that I will not show it. It may be the greatest game ever, but it is unwatchable. If they would just stop doing that, they could send in any video they want.

I would have done the shower floor for you for $500 rip off floor tiles, remove bedding, install new levelling, water proof it and then lay new tiles provided you buy the tiles, that`s what I used to do and gone bankrupt because I guess I wasn`t charging $25 grand 😁
