I will miss you both here in Pensacola. After fishing for 50+ years, I've learned so much about how to fish from you. I also learned how to fish the Pensacola bay area. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. :-)
Looks like fun. Know there is discussion about wearing floatation devices seems like a good idea but know you have a better feel for the area than I do. In any case be safe. Looking forward to seeing your next adventures in this rig
Hey Ty last vid you mentioned you weren't too engine savvy, just hoping you broke in the motor before this outing. It's super important for the longevity of those small outboards!
Hola guys! Love the Roy's ball cap! Welcome back to God's Country, south Texas! Hope to see yall on the water or at a meet n greet. PS got some SOLID spots off of Laguna shores that would surely produce some great content. Hit me up! Lol
Just worked a hot fire out on that side of the bay not but a month ago or so with the fire department! It was 168 acres and it burned all the way to the bay.
i like my yaks simple and light. troll motor and batterie add a ton of weight... may as well move up to a skiff and keep the yak for simple quick trips.
yes sir. love it. kayaks and micro skiffs are like shoes. u can have a different one for different jobs! my solo skiff is a boat I use for solo scouting for kayak guides. it push poles like no other... I use it for solo fly fishing and site casting. its a killer mico skiff.
I love the solo skiff action but sitting on the bow while motoring is a bad idea. If the boat or motor hit something, the person on the bow will fall in and may get run over by the prop if the boat breaks loose.
Experience is everything! Doing that kinda stuff u really have to know what your doing. I’ve got 40 years on a outboard on salt flats , bayous and marshes. We pull off way more sketchy stuff than that lol. Ps. Always wear motor teather!
At least it was shallow and the water is warm. Up north here ya hear about people fairly often the news will say he was an experienced boater, been out on that lake for 40 years. Not sure what happened, they had life vests in the boat. You can’t change people. I have a few friends we set up a test with. We had each person willing to try wear a inflatable life jacket but it was the ones you have to pull the cord. We went out and they had the kill line on them. Each guy bailed out at about 15 mph, the boat died and they had to get to the boat and in without inflating the life jacket. I had $200.00 on the table for each guy that could do it. 6 guys went over the side, 5 inflated their jackets. The last guy didn’t because he was winded when he hit the water and panicked. We rescued him, then stopped the test as it was then realized as stupid and too dangerous. We did prove to the 12 guys out there willing to try that it is not even close to being easy. They were going over the side intentionally but 4 of them were still disoriented when they hit the water. Just think if they weren’t knowing they were going in. We are all in our 50s, some are fit (3 of them were and one of these guys was the panicked one), the others are typical Canadian ranchers/farmers. I paid the other 6 on the shore $50 for showing up and we went back to the ranch for bar b que! Of those 12, my friend that helped and I, 4, including me wear a vest all the time. We call the others fish food. They hate it but laugh. My vest is not an auto inflate and probably should be. Ya have a better chance in warmer waters, but the lake that day was 69-70 degrees so not too cold. All the experiences in the world don’t change physics and the element of surprise. Hit face first and you may not be conscious, especially at speeds over 15 mph. Oh well.
Good to see wholesome husband and wife fishing. Thank you for sharing this. America needs more of this!
Thx Michael

This just means that momma has got to have her own. Excellent video.
Tru dat from the first solo video he made. New Channel Name - Dos Solos
Gives a whole new meaning to motor boating......
Great purchase folks, that 5 hp seems to push it along just fine..congratulations to you both...

that's awesome bud... so glad to help
Once an outboard guy always an outboard guy. Welcome back. :-)
Yep definitely want to get one.. can’t wait to see you get back in the marsh with it.
Niceeeee congrats on the new solo skiff cool my friend 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks so very fun! Thanks for sharing
Breeze to and from. Great for hot Summertime fishing.
Open deck not so good when it gets cold.
But the smile on those faces saying "We Kewl"lol
Good ole Rattlesnake Point. Didnt realize you were back in town. Guess I'm gonna have to get with you about some inshore stuff
great video, thanks for sharing, looks like you 2 had blast
Good to see your solo skiff run. I have been debating between that and a Gheenoe. Will be very interesting seeing how you rig it.
AlwayzBlue Poolz get a gheenoe
Love the videos thanks for sharing with us the community. Can't wait to see how it runs out in open water outside the surf zone
Looks like fun. Know there is discussion about wearing floatation devices seems like a good idea but know you have a better feel for the area than I do. In any case be safe. Looking forward to seeing your next adventures in this rig
The water is less then 2 fr deep there they will be ok without a PFD
That's because he says hes in 2 feet of water.
I'm so excited to get one of these, it actually seems like it rides dryer with 2 people idk. I'm blown away it does well with 2 people in it wow. 👍🏽👍🏽
It really pushes the boundaries tho. It rides low and takes in water on deck. No optimal for 2 folks
A good start. Given the prevailing winds down there, drifting the flats could be habit-forming. Who needs a trolling motor?
roger!
Good trip looks fun. I'm glad it rides 2 this way Ty gets to go. 😀
Nice setup there. That's a very good choice in an outboard. The skiff cruises with a 5hp. and with both of you'll 🙂
The Solo did Awesome so did the motor, way more fun that pedaling a kayak lol. Enjoy it 👍
Hey Ty last vid you mentioned you weren't too engine savvy, just hoping you broke in the motor before this outing. It's super important for the longevity of those small outboards!
There might be different protocols for 4-stroke and the older 2-stroke designs.
@Paul T my 40 hp mercury 4 stroke had all kinds of rules for the first two hours.
That’s gonna be fun to trick out!
you know it
I saw that grin on your face when you got going on the water lol
Lol
Yep Tgirl needs her own too😘
Awesome! I really want one now! Lol PowerPole would be sweet Ty!
Get a marine mat kit for the solo. You can customize colors, finishes and designs.
I love that spot. I call it the tree, where Red Fish Lodge Rd goes from bulkhead to jetties transition.

That would be great for mother-shipping to the oil rigs/BTB. OH-YEA!
You need a grab bar for balance 👍🏻
Roy's bait and tackle? Don't they have the Stealth kayaks there?
Hi Guys, love that thing. Needs a name. How about a poling platform above the motor?
Would definitely look cool 😎 to. ! With rod holders on poling platform frame. !
LOVED IT !!!!
Did you break-in that motor ?
Looks great buddy
welcome back
Been waiting for this video!
Just worked a hot fire out on that side of the bay not but a month ago or so with the fire department! It was 168 acres and it burned all the way to the bay.

Where were y'all at? Great video!
rockport tx. copano
U can get another solo skiff and build a dual solo skiff and attach athem together
Let me know who can help me build one? Whos up for it
Nice! You could improve it by giving it to me.😂
Thing gets it extended range ftw
"Holy begonias" lol!
Good job
Dig it!
Nice boat, Christopher Moltasanti
Hello so now that you have tried solo skiff and bote rover 14. Which would you prefer for the flats?
I guess rover. But it is more expensive and more fragile
Freaking sweet. How much weight you think was on it if you dont mind me asking?
i weigh 190 and tgirl weighs 140
@@30mofishing thats pretty good. you think it was pushing it? or no?
i've been out in it alone and it is a better ride. that said... i will take her out with me again. it wasn't bad.
Would you try a trolling motor to a kayak
i like my yaks simple and light. troll motor and batterie add a ton of weight... may as well move up to a skiff and keep the yak for simple quick trips.
I have no use for a kayak after getting mine.
What size at board did you have
6
Where’s the champagne.....🍾🍾🍾
Is it legal to have two people on board? i wanna get one for me and my 10yo son
Sure
Wheres the gas tank?
Way too funny!!!!! You buy a boat made for one and the first thing you do with it is head out with two people!!!!!!
Yassss
Do you still like your soloskiff?can you give you honest opinion.

ahhh.. good law. that is a must.

How much do you and her weight in total?? Thats the real question???

Rig up a backrest....
Handles y’alls weight okay???
Yep. Working your way up to a big boy boat.......lol jk
lol.. the last boat i had was 22' with a 140... never again! lol skiff or paddle for me
I can't blame you. The fishing you do is more intimate with either skiff or kayak.
That thing is Bad to the bone!!!
Tandem on a solo what...
Bad example from you both, wheres your PFD ?
in the boat. its the law.
@@30mofishing yeah yeah in the boat is legal. Keep it up then.
Sell that thing!!! and buy a real skiff!!
