This is how i got two of my friends to go swimming in the Pasig River. Unfortunately, i had to swim with them as well to make it all happen. Para sa lipunan at ang kapakanan ng ating environment! Very meaningful and educational vlog to hopefully inspire the News Stations to make regular weekly Public Service announcements spreading awareness & guiding our mga kababayan to throw away their trash but also to make trash cans available and on every street corner.. that are easily accessible as well.
The sad thing is even with trash cans available, there will only be a few people who would actually take their precious time to put their trash in trash cans. Just too many lazy people.

Unfortunately, in the Philippines, unsecured trash cans (or anything metal) will probably get taken or stolen, just like manhole covers. I once drove my car on top of an open manhole cover and got stuck. The manhole cover used to be there.

It is. Way dirtier than what is shown on the vid tho. The status quo must learn and actually put it to action their care and love for the environment as well as to the people who lives around it. Sad story for the Phillippines :(

Will, your a grown man , you follow the path of your choice, but I still remember when you got sick , even thou I'm just a simple fan , I still worried and prayed for your safe recovery, I'm not your father , but i am a good friend if you want it, with that said , i hope you avoid places like swimming in a river infested with sewage, chemicals , and many other dangerous pathogens, think of your parents, your sister and your girlfriend, and also think of the hundreds of thousands of fans ,that love seeing you come out on TH-cam. As I said I'm not your father, I am a friend that cares about your health, please avoid doing what you did by jumping into that river, it's not worth the 5 or 6 seconds of fame. I care more about your health than to show off by swimming in that infested river.

Ultimately those 2 women will have to take accountability for their own actions. But how far can one go with their prank? This far? And compromise ones safety and health? These women went because they trusted a friend. One who is pretty conscious about being healthy and eating healthy actually thinks this is okay. Please be more responsible. You are being followed by many.
The mere smell is enough to put anyone off. I love youtube but there are also many videos that are created just to shock and just to increase views and followers. It is a great platform and how i wish they can create more substantial content and not some idiotic prank/challenge

I spent the morning thinking about this issue and all of the issues rolled up into a giant snowball of a problem. Man... it's all kind of "chicken and egg." It seems like poverty and the lack of educational opportunities keep people in the mindset of "just surviving." Just being born and growing up in an area where squatters' homes are the "matter of fact" only housing choices continues a cycle that perpetuates problems. Just getting by often doesn't allow folks to opportunities to live in housing with adequate human waste disposal. I am lucky enough to live in an area with a "Green Bin" for recycling and a "Black Bin" for regular garbage. We have an abundance of toilets, which are directly connected to good waste disposal plants. My kids go to a school which preaches environmental sustainability. Not only do they learn it on a daily basis, but they get to practice what they learn every day at home. We are both fortunate and privileged.
This is such a difficult issue to tackle. I recall you saying in one of your vlogs that the Pasig River "smells like poo." There's a great charity out there called "Sanitation First" that aims to change the world "one toilet at a time." If we could somehow get good toilets to areas near the Pasig River, perhaps that might help in the cleanup and create a healthy environment the community. Dealing with human waste is just one small piece of the puzzle, since the abundance of garbage and plastic waste clog the waterways of that area. Education and spending money on infrastructure to recycle and deal with garbage are keys to the cleanup. It all comes down to money... the poor don't have enough to create homes that have good waste disposal systems. They're just getting by... a toilet just isn't in the daily budget. And hey... what garbage company sends trucks into squatters' areas to collect garbage or recycling? It seems that almost every day just getting by wins out over spending money on something that won't give me what I need "right now."
It's a giant problem that needs to be attacked. I'm not sure how to begin this, but I do know that. Only warm and giving hearts and hands can affect the change that needs to happen. I'm glad that you spent some time on this, since it actually made me sit down and think about it so much my head began to pound. I'm with you, my friend. We all need to be a part of this. We are all in this together. Some of us are luckier than others, but in the end... if we don't look out for our own cities and the neighbors we all have, we lose in the long run. To those who have been given much, more is expected... so perhaps I need to get up and do my part. Thanks for the little bit of awareness you put out there... Keep on keepin' on... and "cleanin' on!
You haven't seen the river worse that this a few years ago. What you are seeing in fact is the result of what has been done to this dead river so far.. Our school and my students even got the chance to participate in the regular clean up one time. Truth is, of the several factors contributing to the pollution, the informal settlers along its tributaries are the the most difficult to handle. The best solution is to demolish them really.. If you want to help look up for the Pasig River Rehabilitation Council and the Laguna Lake Development Council and you will see their efforts..Thanks to the efforts of Wil Dasovich for this video anyways..

If i were the president in PH i would replace those houses with new and clean one and build sewers wich the ph is not used to and we only use Septic tanks. I think rebuilding the housen in the whole metropolis would cost almost 1 trillion pesos or 10billion dollars i guess. Sorry for my bad English, my only opinion.

Lack of self discipline is really the main problem. Our governments, so many projects try to implement but they already forget this PASIG RIVER that has been part of history of our country.
PS. Try to see the city of Iloilo, on how they change the beauty of Iloilo river, by making the riverside as theme Park. And now serves as one of tourist attractions on that City.
