and pc mods and builds are something i got into a cpl years ago
so as a stated in the previous video this will be a kind of three part video where i show everything related to the puddle light install, because i had to remove the side mirror covers and the indicators and even the lower case for the puddle lights retrofit i decided to do these videos separately as well, so i could show you guys how to do these mods and break them down step by step
for this video i just show the upgraded parts but mainly....i focus on the dynamic indicators and its features

before we get started i wanted to point out that i had already retrofitted a set of puddle lights, meaning i was able to wire the extra wire which controls the startup feature of the dynamic indicators
if you dont have puddle lights you can use any switched 12v power source and it will do the job... i just wanted to point this out as im sure not everyone will have puddle lights ..especially preface lift models like mine...
so basically this video has an in depth review on the dual colour dynamic indicators and having the choice between having the second colour option or not... the start up light (blue light)
the extra wire i speak of is to control the startup feature
and that wire is basically connected to a 12v switched power source so that it can work as shown in the video
i was first worried about connecting it to a 12v switch power source because i was afraid that it would be on whilst you drive as it is connected...but for some reason it only activates when the side mirrors are powered , i believe it has a trigger knowing when to turn on and off the startup feature (blue light)
as for the carbon fiber mirror covers they are pretty straight forward ... i do another video showing step by step how to carefully remove the cover and also how to remove the indicator from the cover itself..feel free to check out that video

hey guys i wantes to stress that originally i had no puddle lights ..... prefacelift models do not have factory puddle lights...so in order to wire it the way i did u need puddle lights .... i was preparing for a puddle light retrofit which is why i was able to do this wiring setup.... but if u dont have puddle lights im sure u can use a 12v switched power source and it will work .... i wired my puddle lights to my rear dome lights and a video is coming real soon on the retrofit of my puddle lights so stay tuned fpr that video....i hope you guys unddrstood the video..much love
I've a CLA45 2017, do you think it has a puddle light?
@@nofear4890 I'm guessing most newer models do but it's possible it may not have it due to options not being fitted

Great video, you showed all the functions! Thank you. I just gotnthese and had no idea how to connect the green wire for the secondary color. I am now going to do as you and connect to the puddle light positive terminal. Tha k you again!!!

I tried 2 different makes of these on my 2013 B180 but found they both gave 'Bulb Failure' error messages on the dash. They were both 2-wire versions, as flashing any other colour than amber in the UK would be illegal.
Only one of the 1st set worked and I noticed they were wired differently so I swapped the wires around, and it was fine - but only flashed 5 or 6 times each time they were activated.
The 2nd set also caused the 'Bulb Failure' error message and progressively got worse. Not only did they stop working, they caused the original front and rear bulbs to stop flashing too! This happened to one side only at first, then the other side the following day.
I tried putting various resistors in series, but couldn't get rid of the 'Bulb Failure' error messages.
Anyone else have this problem?

Hello, quick question. I purchased my dynamic turn signal lights. When I plug them in, I am not seeing them turn on. Even when I put my blinker on they do not work, when I try my factory ones they work just fine. Any suggestions? Or possibly they are defective?
that is very strange they should be plug and play , check the pins are not bent that plug into the plug... should always test them too ... another subscriber is also having this issue he ended up returning the indicators and asked me where i bought mine from.. i never had that issue ..it was just plug and play for me..i cant think of anything that would cause it to not work apart from defective ones

Where is the best place to connect the cable is to change the color when I do not have mirrors backlight and I do not have automatically folding mirrors ?
ok so u need a power source that is only active when u standstill and not active when u drive .. I tried to connect to any 12v power source and it made the lights come on wen I was driving and signalled... and u don't want that... u need a power source relating to your door lights as they only come on when u unlock and lock car ...also another option is to use a relay .. that way you can send power to the lights wennu want and cut off power wen u want too... that sound better actually ... google how to wire a relay and it will describe how to wire it and its uses
Hi Mikey, I followed your instruction and was able to successfully install the lights without connecting the blue color. They work fine, but I'm not sure why the amber indicators are ridiculously dimmed like almost not visible when on, I bought a set with 12v 5w, smoke lens. Do you have any idea what I might have done wrong as to why they're not bright at all? Do I have to connect the wire for the blue light for them to be brought? Were the set you showed in this video this bright in reality? Please help... thanks
u can try and see what happens its possible it needs that wire for 12v
Hi Mike.. not entirely related topic but trying my luck if you have idea where is the power feeding to the door mirror motor. One side of my door mirror recently stop folding and I suspect either there's no power to the motor or the motor itself is broken
it would be from module behind the door... behind ur door u will see a module box that controls basically everything electronic from door led to door locks fold in mirrors and led .. that's where ur power is ..I would start there make sure no short or cable disconnected etc

Great vid. Do you think if you wire the secondary light onto indicator wires the indicator light will go all the way without any blue light sequence?

ok so if u dont have any of those best would be to find a power source in the door frame amd connect to it and use a mini relay so it will control when the start up lights switch on and off.... which power source im not sure.... but u can definitely find something in inner door frame of front doors.. maybe the control module for front doors..as they power the windows and the switches....

Do they look same like mine or the older lights with the triangle shape? If they look like mine then these will fit yours as well

Hi, my question is if the blue dynamic light turns on in the day light if I connect to the puddle positive. Because in my car the puddle light only turns on in the night. What do you think?
In my Mercedes I have power folding mirrors , so I connect to that cable and blue led is working ok, but only works when the power folding mirror is working in the opening position.

puddle lights should work always not just at night, are you saying your puddle lights only work at night ?
My puddle lights only illuminated in the night, the bulb only turns on in the night. My question is if I connect the blue light to the puddle light , the blue light is going to turn on in the daylight with sun?
I think maybe no, that why I connect to the power folding mirror cable .
I have that doubt, so I connect today the blue cable to the power folding motor and works ok, but only works when the power mirror is working in the opening position.
In my car there is a light sensor in the front windshield, so the puddle light bulb dont illuminated in the day.
@@alvarocruzat8046 yes becuz thast cable only gets power when folding mirror is working, u need another switched 12v power cable that always has power when you turn car on
I stuck wire into my puddle light buld socket reinstalled bulb to test it still nothing from third wire .

where were u getting power from ... are u trying to install puddle lights like I did ?

@@Mlive722 so ur just trying to activate ur third light in the dynamic indicators ? and ur just trying to connect the third wire but the other colour light isn't illuminating.? try another 12v power source

My carbon fiber cover will not fit my indicator in it mannnn.

Try shaving down the carbon fiber covers where the indicators head in and trim down the rails on your carbon fiber covers where the indicators sit on

hey bud so sorry to hear that your having so many issues with your dynamic indicators, i honestly had the same problem after about 6 months
they were working for about 6 months but gradually after 6 months i started to see error msgs , it was wierd becuz at first they were working fine they were perfect with the blue leds too, so i can say that did happen, so i ended up going back to just orange leds, no blues,
however i will say iu never had them completely fail , they always worked only gave an error message , and my tail lights always worked at the same time
i never had issues with the tail lights not responding or failing due to the dynamic indicators
its very possible u may have another issue such as the tail light grounding issue
wen u connect a new ground direct from the plate of the tail light it tends to fix alot of the error related to the tai lights
maybe try and see if u have any electrical errors
