Southern Pacific Daylight GS4 Steam locomotive number 4449 is one of my most favorite steam locomotives. I have a Kato N scale 10 car Morning Daylight set & a Kato N scale GS4 Southern Pacific Daylight 4-8-4 steam locomotive number 4449 which is my Excursion train on my Pacific West Coast model railroad.
You went up there too? I’m surprised I’m not the only one from San Luis who got a cab ride in 4449. You could have shot me dead right then and I would have died happy.
Doyle's not the only qualified engineer that can run 4449. Despite being her CMO (and the one most associate with being her engineer), he shares the position with several others.
KremeStation yeah I got to do a similar thing when the engine was cold, they even let me go inside the fire box and see the work they were doing on the inside. Unfortunately I think safety rules are the reason people aren’t allowed as often as they used to be in riding in the cab.
I’d like to take a ride on the 4449 some day
This is a bucket list item for all railfans...
I'm still waiting for my chance to ride in the cab of 4449
Portland Oregon’s jewel

Yes, I believe a few others have as well.
The Queen of Southern Pacific! #4449😉
Was Doyle McCormick at the Throttle?
No.

@@JACESOFFICIAL I will be back to making new content in due course. I have a full-time career outside of YT that takes up a lot of my time.
That cab looks incredibly nice for a steam engine. How hot does it get up there?
How did you get a cab ride?
Be friends with Doyle. He’s the head engineer and the engine basically exists today thanks to him
Right, I talked some about 4449 that he let me up in the cab while she was parked. Very few are let in.

I see, kinda sucks.
