I think Kenjaku purposely did it so that Sukuna could be trapped inside his future vessel. Remember, Kenjaku told Jogo that Yuji would retain control of Sukuna only if he ate one finger a day. If Yuji, or any other vessel took in the full 20 finger grunt of Sukuna's soul, then they probably wouldn't be able to control him.
Moreover, yuji was born with one finger sealed inside. If sukuna wasn't split into multiple cursed object, yuji would need to have the full sukuna from the start.

I always thought sukuna splitter into 20 finger was a binding vow as well as sukuna's fingers being toxic in exchange for their durability i just assumed that because we never shown the durability of the object that holds the souls of other reincarnated sorcerers and i assumed that the finger that was fed to megumi wasn't toxic because it just stupid for sukuna to gamble on 1/1000000 chance
All other cursed objects from very powerful guys are pretty OP like the prison realm. I think the toxicity isn’t like real poison or something, I think it’s sukuna actively rejecting the vessel because it’s too weak or it simply being to weak to contain even 1/20th of sukuna, after all he’s literally two guys in one fused body.
@Skeletontiger we can't use the prison realm as an example for the durability of cursed objects that thing is built to be an indestructible prison The only other curse object we see are the curse wombs which are technically reincarnated sorcerers So we can't say anything on the durability of cursed objects because the only two we were shown are outliers

For example tsumiki was fed a sealed yorozu a few months before the story started, and that put her on a come. On the 31st of october, kenjaku used idle transfiguration remotely to change her brain and therefore give her the ability to be yorozu's vessel, and then broke the seal on yorozu's cursed object that tsumiki ingested for yorozu to reincarnate in tsumiki. This has happened for probably a thousand humans that ingested cursed objects

In terms of disaster curses outside Japan, it would be really cool to see a one shot of one thing where we see something like where volcanoes have been seen as a godly wrath and lead to fear and some worship over generations, which would lead to a curse forming and a sorcerer having to deal with that

So that’d mean the curse that ate that single finger with full power Sukuna inside would be insanely powerful. I’d say a class above Rika (as a curse spirit) since Sukuna has double the CE of Yuta. Not close to Sukuna’s Full Power though since at best that curse would only get the CE reserves of Sukuna.
My theory is that using 20 fingers was a restriction given to make the eventual reincarnation more powerful & complete. I.e. his ability to fully incarnate and heal back to 100%.
If purely Heian Era Sukuna no 10S vs. Gojo, results in Sukuna’s victory at least a majority of the time. Heian Era Sukuna’s biggest advantage is the fact he has 4 arms which allows him to enhance his techniques and overwhelm his opponents in H2H combat. If Gojo can find a way around that then I’d say Gojo wins but even with 2 arms Meguna was relatively close in H2H combat with Gojo. (Gojo > Meguna in H2H but by no means a stomp). With this in mind Heian Era Sukuna wins with Malevolent Shrine because he can overpower Gojo completely in a Domain Clash (with his Domain and the fight that would result inside).
I'd disagree given the amount of blows Gojo landed on Sukuna, compared to the inverse. Where Sukunas extra arms help in battery, Gojo compensates with blue. In addition to that, the author has confirmed Gojo and Kenjaku to be the best hand to hand combatants in the series, inclusive of Sukuna. If you consider kenjaku confusing, think of it as you as an untrained adult being faster and stronger than a kid but that kid does karate. And to top it all off, without the advantage blue gives Gojo, he was still effectively able to fend Sukuna off while being nerfed by RCT. So, in my opinion, Gojo still beats Heian Sukuna in H2H
I think Sukuna's biggest win condition was that Gojo didn't know Sukuna's technique fully. He didn't feel like Sukuna actually went all out or, a better way to put it, used his full arsenal, and Gojo was right. Sukuna did not use his Heian era form, or his Fuga. However, Gojo was also wrong, because while Sukuna didn't use his full arsenal, Sukuna still went all out. He was most likely unable to use his Heian era form because he wouldn't be able to use 10 Shadows (or he was saving it in case he needed it most), so it was a toss up between committing to 10S or Shrine. As for Fuga, Sukuna has to actually use Shrine perform the hand movements rather than letting his domain do it, so he can't use Fuga while he is using Domain Amp or 10 Shadows. (When Sukuna uses Fuga to kill Jogo, Mahoraga, and my poor boi Choso, he always uses his hands for it) Ultimately, Gojo understood 10 Shadows but not Shrine. He didn't even know Sukuna's domain was open, which was really his biggest downfall. If Gojo had time to plan, he would have already flipped the conditions of his domain, or shrunk it to a more durable size. Better yet, he should just teleport away as soon as Sukuna uses his domain, and wait it out. Then teleport next to him and UV.

Saying gojo can compensate with blue here is irrelevant since he was already doing that the entire time and only just edging out 2 armed sukuna in a physically weaker body. It’s not like gojo was holding back on using blue against 2 arm sukuna lol, so a physically stronger sukuna with an extra pair of arms would at the very very least tie with him in h2h, but most likely be superior.

And keep in mind that while Gojo wasn't holding back, he was still limited in the way he'd have to take down Sukuna because he also had the goal of saving megumi (in other words, he had to restrain Sukuna then destroy Megumis organs) while Sukuna was free to punch him as he pleased. Sukuna got cooked too much imo for the extra arms to make a difference esp since Gojo wouldnt have worry about big Raga adapting to him quickly. In addition to that, teleportation is a nasty ability. Gojo VS Heian Era Sukuna (Only Using Domain Expansion and Amplification Points. Not even mentioning below the fact that Sukuna was stated to be holding back.) First of all we need to remember that among the Domain clashes, 2 were won by Sukuna, 2 were tied, and one was won by Gojo because he was 0.01 seconds faster and Sukuna was healing. Now that version of Sukuna was in a weak body, ok? I mean think about it.... Gojo took 3:09 mins to beat Sukuna to the point where he was unable to maintain Domain. So considering Sukuna is physically stronger, faster and has 4 hands in Heian Era form means he won't get beaten in 3:09 mins. This would also mean that Sukuna will probably win 3rd and 4th clash. Gojo should be dead by now as we see that he also has limits and will probably fry his brain while healing in the 3rd and 4th clash. This also means that the 5th clash where Sukuna was healing and was late, can be complete opposite too. It can be Gojo who would be late in domain expansion. Thus, Sukuna winning purely by Domain Expansions and Domain Amplifications.
To put it simply Gojo if all stars align wins but if even one is out of place then Sukuna wins. To expand on that (before Sukuna learned World Cutting Slash): If Yuta’s CE (boundless, half of Sukuna’s CE reserves) can allow Gojo to have better CE reinforcement around his body and can allow Gojo to output a higher level of his Limitless. Like a stronger Blue around fists or a stronger Hollow Purple or stronger Red than it may very well be possible Gojo can close the physical gap he has between 4 armed Sukuna and his regular self. If Gojo can close that physical barrier to match or even surpass Sukuna then the only thing I’d worry about is Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine and Mahoraga. I do not know what exactly Kamutoke does but if it’s a trump card then Sukuna wins if it’s negligible against a sorcerer with relative stats to Sukuna then just acknowledge it but ultimately toss it aside. Since Gojo in this hypothetical playing out in my head has relative stats to this Heian Era Sukuna then the Domain Clashes would play out similar to how they went in the story. If you think Sukuna would win here then it’s Sukuna’s win. If not, Sukuna would need to pull out Mahoraga like he did in the story since overwhelming in Malevolent Shrine Gojo didn’t work, Sukuna would be forced to bring out Agito and Mahoraga. Rika can handle Agito but Mahoraga is going to require a lot more work from Gojo and Rika. The only ways I can see Gojo winning this scenario is if he can pull off 2 consecutive Hollow Purples with Rika’s help killing Mahoraga in the 1st then finishing off Sukuna in the next. Or overwhelming Heian Era Sukuna in H2H combat with Rika’s help to either ensnarl him in Unlimited Void or whittle him down with Red,Blue and Purple. It seems more likely that Heian Era Sukuna can pull something off before Gojo can finish Sukuna off. Gojo really needs Yuta’s CE to boost him to a 4 armed Sukuna’s level by enhancing his output and reinforcement to regain a stat advantage so Gojo even has a chance to best Heian Era Sukuna w/ Mahoraga and Agito.
@@notdeus3834 from my knowledge, Refinement = mastery over CE and your efficiency in using CE. Gojo > Kenjaku in Domain Clashes because the Six Eyes grants Gojo a better mastery (makes the cost of using Limitless infinitesimally smaller than what it would be without the Six Eyes) over CE even though Kenjaku knows more on CE like Open Domain. Output = the strength at which your attacks from your CT can dish out. For instance, Gojo’s Lapse Blue is a maximum output technique that makes Blue as strong as Gojo can dish out from his Limitless CT. Similar with Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine where the Cleaves and Dismantles have an increased output as a Domain amplifies the user’s stats. It’s also very stressed in the Ryu vs. Uro vs. Yuta fight in Sendai where Yuta’s CE blasts have a lower output of CE than Ryu’s granite blasts despite the fact Yuta has more CE. Reinforcement = the coating of CE around a sorcerer’s body. Like how we see in the Gojo vs. Sukuna fight where Gojo coats his fist in CE then Gojo adds Blue to it but that’s more akin to an application of the Limitless not reinforcement. Reinforcement is basically a sorcerer’s base stats like durability, stamina, physical strength, etc.
I don't think Kenjaku actually made Sukuna into the 20 fingers, unless I'm forgetting something. I think he might have demonstrated or maybe did the first one, but Sukuna likely did it for the reason you suggested: proliferation. Much easier to incarnate if you have multiple chances. Not like he can't find other ways to get his power back. I'm far more curious to see if the anime embellishes the themes more.

To expand on that (before Sukuna learned World Cutting Slash): If Yuta’s CE (boundless, half of Sukuna’s CE reserves) can allow Gojo to have better CE reinforcement around his body and can allow Gojo to output a higher level of his Limitless. Like a stronger Blue around fists or a stronger Hollow Purple or stronger Red than it may very well be possible Gojo can close the physical gap he has between 4 armed Sukuna and his regular self. If Gojo can close that physical barrier to match or even surpass Sukuna then the only thing I’d worry about is Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine and Mahoraga. I do not know what exactly Kamutoke does but if it’s a trump card then Sukuna wins if it’s negligible against a sorcerer with relative stats to Sukuna then just acknowledge it but ultimately toss it aside. Since Gojo in this hypothetical playing out in my head has relative stats to this Heian Era Sukuna then the Domain Clashes would play out similar to how they went in the story. If you think Sukuna would win here then it’s Sukuna’s win. If not, Sukuna would need to pull out Mahoraga like he did in the story since overwhelming in Malevolent Shrine Gojo didn’t work, Sukuna would be forced to bring out Agito and Mahoraga. Rika can handle Agito but Mahoraga is going to require a lot more work from Gojo and Rika. The only ways I can see Gojo winning this scenario is if he can pull off 2 consecutive Hollow Purples with Rika’s help killing Mahoraga in the 1st then finishing off Sukuna in the next. Or overwhelming Heian Era Sukuna in H2H combat with Rika’s help to either ensnarl him in Unlimited Void or whittle him down with Red,Blue and Purple. It seems more likely that Heian Era Sukuna can pull something off before Gojo can finish Sukuna off. Gojo really needs Yuta’s CE to boost him to a 4 armed Sukuna’s level by enhancing his output and reinforcement to regain a stat advantage so Gojo even has a chance to best Heian Era Sukuna w/ Mahoraga and Agito.

@@notdeus3834 from my knowledge, Refinement = mastery over CE and your efficiency in using CE. Gojo > Kenjaku in Domain Clashes because the Six Eyes grants Gojo a better mastery (makes the cost of using Limitless infinitesimally smaller than what it would be without the Six Eyes) over CE even though Kenjaku knows more on CE like Open Domain.
Output = the strength at which your attacks from your CT can dish out. For instance, Gojo’s Lapse Blue is a maximum output technique that makes Blue as strong as Gojo can dish out from his Limitless CT. Similar with Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine where the Cleaves and Dismantles have an increased output as a Domain amplifies the user’s stats. It’s also very stressed in the Ryu vs. Uro vs. Yuta fight in Sendai where Yuta’s CE blasts have a lower output of CE than Ryu’s granite blasts despite the fact Yuta has more CE.
Reinforcement = the coating of CE around a sorcerer’s body. Like how we see in the Gojo vs. Sukuna fight where Gojo coats his fist in CE then Gojo adds Blue to it but that’s more akin to an application of the Limitless not reinforcement. Reinforcement is basically a sorcerer’s base stats like durability, stamina, physical strength, etc.

I don't think Kenjaku actually made Sukuna into the 20 fingers, unless I'm forgetting something. I think he might have demonstrated or maybe did the first one, but Sukuna likely did it for the reason you suggested: proliferation. Much easier to incarnate if you have multiple chances.
