    Horry was the master at load management (knee management) old school. He knew the regular season was just exhibition. One time in Dallas this dude took off from the free throw line and monster dunked.

      Horry missed a big shot for the lakers in 2003 against the spurs. 3 pointer wouldnt go down. One of the reasons why Lakers lost that year. So he really was a difference maker

      From the view from the camera behind Horry, I've seen that one. And Kobe face looks so nervous. When he missed it then Shaq missed it, then ball flew back and Kobe turns with this nervous look, then Horry just hits it.

    Was on a flight Lax- Houston Christmas Eve 2014 iirc. Big shot Bob was across in first class. I never bothered the man. Up the escalator as I reached the upper level to catch the airport terminal tram, the boarding area, one guy was there, one. At that point I didn't feel bad saying hi, chatting a minute and even getting a pic together. Horry was a very cool down to earth guy.
    Met Tyron Lue and Chauncy Billups at a LAX gate the next year. Coach Lue also a very cool guy, spoke about 10 minutes on bball, diff players and teams.

      Horry did that because the refs were carrying the Suns the entire series. Horry had enough. The reality is that without the refs Spurs would have swept Suns. It's just the nba didn't want their mvp (Nash) getting swept. And are you also forgetting about Duncan getting kicked out of the game for smiling on the bench after the horrible calls by the refs earlier in that series? Suns got a win that game as a result.

    The most clutch thing this guy ever did was take out Steve Nash which cause half he starting 5 of the Suns to be suspended. You were the MVP of those finals with that and that is one of the most meaningless chips ever earned.

      If it was not for the refs carrying suns the entire series, Spurs would have swept them. Be happy suns got 2 wins. Be happy that the refs kicked Duncan out of the game for smiling on the bench after the refs were carrying suns. And suns got a win that game with Duncan gone.
      Suspending (2) suns players for only 1 game (Horry had a 2 game suspension), was a makeup call for Crawford screwing over the spurs earlier in the series.

      Lakers let him go after he looked done in 2003. Same thing happened to Finley who the Mavs let go in 2006. The Spurs have always had a hard time attracting free agents, so then they went about resurrecting folks left behind in the scrap heap. Horry helped them win 2 and Finley helped them win 1.

    The weird thing is Robert Horry is sort of why the NBA is so predictable. He was always bailing out the best team when they were about to lose.
