  • Yen Ara Asaase Ni- This is our land, Composed by Dr. Ephraim Amu in May 1929 orginally in the Ewe language 'Amewo Dzife Yigba', was later translated into twi as 'Yen Ara Asaase Ni' in 1931.
    He wrote this song for school children in Peki, in the Volta Region of Ghana(his birthplace) at the request of a teacher for the celebration of Empire Day. The composer carefully selected the text to encourage the children to become good citizens in future.
