hey, this looks really cool, nice work on it so far, hopefully it only gets better from here :D might i suggest perhaps making remixes of the original music, it'd be cool to see this mod be like a true remaster where the game looks better AND has some interesting extra features
@@emamess So in terms of music, we intend to use Spelunky 2's music for each appropriate area (so S2 mothership music in the mothership, S2 black market music for the black market). However, since the "Spelunky HD music for Spelunky 2" mod can't account for the special areas and level feelings implemented in HDmod, taffer is making a mod to account for this. It'll play HD's music in the same locations and the same chances as HD.

GENUINELY THOUGHT THAT TANK SPRITE WAS FROM SPELUNKY 2 AUTHENTICALLY.
The Spelunky HD 2 mothership and worn are amazing! Acid with the fluid mechanics is so cool. Seeing Israel having to navigate the mess he made was great, as a posed to the other liquid mess he makes. I’m so glad they got the kyrsknife back was my favourite part, the sword is cool, but it takes your item slot, plus the knife is far superior to the stupid eggplant crown. Plus, the mothership having the fast psychic blasts, while the elevators are actual threats makes it even more hectic. When this is finished I could watch this for hours!
The Mothership and Yeti King level actually used Spelunky 2 soundtracks here.
Honestly I'm okay with that because those happen to be one of the few soundtracks from Spelunky 2 that I really like even in comparison to Spelunky HD soundtracks.
I totally agree with the music. Spelunky 2 music was fine...but HD was just awesome.
its so sad that the kris knife is not in spelunky 2
I mean, with mods everything is possible. Although making mods for spelunky is always hard...

i really think it should be an extra step, like killing the last jellyfish to open a portal to get to a last boss fight in 7-100 or 8-1 (7-100 sounds cooler)

They used to be way more dangerous.
When Spelunky 2 was being released, i though it wouod have the classic spiders 😢
But now looking at this, i realize that someone can mod it into the game.
It seems like a very small thing but it sure makes a great difference for me

that's really cool, i hope they do more with it than just remake it, it'd be nice to see stuff like remixes of the music and maybe even a new secret area or else

Ooh are they fixing the bug that makes objects falling half an inch high stun and deal damage, that was the best features in HD, "not having that"

Whoever the art guy is is very talented. The team behind this mod should really think about making some sort of spelunky 2+ instead of simply remaking spelunky.
I got plasma cannon from crate in spelunky hd, however I tried go to hell and died in COG bc no bombs :(

i hope they give the female characters the dot eyes that they used to have in the first game
i wonder if they will remove poison and curse because it wasn't in original hd
or remove everything that wasnt in the original..
The point is to have the best of both games, but I imagine they could make those features optional for those who want the most authentic experience.

The Spelunky 2 engine feels way better to play in my opinion. A fully functional remake with 2's engine really is the best of both worlds

just saying the worm looks left to be desired, the small worms that pop out of the pods have an ugly green sprite that looks very artificial

imho some of it is really good. cosmic ocean and tiamat's throne are top notch
