Your bedroom is huge. I love the green color choices, the one you're leaning toward, I like.
IDEA - I like the faux fireplace mantel, visually balances out the room from the opposite site. Can put the TV above and have a couple of small chairs.
Great tips on money saving for projects, you've done very well in all the areas you've done.

That is such a HUGE bedroom!!! Beams on the ceiling would look great, and an accent wall behind the bed that matches the beam’s wood color OR perhaps make a larger headboard to enlarge the scale on that wall, and matches the beam color? Matching night stands and a bench at the foot of the bed, plus a rug. Built-ins on the wall across from the foot of the bed for extra storage and a TV sounds very nice, and who doesn’t love more storage? :) Love the idea of gray-green; there are so many shades to pick from.
Habitat for Humanity Re-Store is a great resource for make-over resources too. I spent almost 4 months scouring two Habitat stores looking for the perfect solid wood cabinets to match my existing kitchen cabinets when I reconfigured the entire kitchen. It was worth the wait and for a good cause - all the items sold there are donated by contractors, homeowners and then the funds are channeled to Habitat for Humanity to build houses for those in need.

That was GREAT! Your MBR is your sanctuary. The Green is perfect, love the beam idea. Yup, a Wall Unit (more work) with an Electric Fire Place would be my first choice. In our area, we have "For Free". I've gotten the most beautiful pieces of furniture for Free. Headboard, nightstands, large and small mirrors and picture frames, work tables, storage cabinets, patio cushions, and patio furniture pieces. It's a very long list. All in like new condition. Sure there is doo-doo on there too. You just don't ask to be considered for those pieces. Even Tools. Amazon is excellent as well. You do such a phenomenal job on your projects and I've learned so much. Thank you Kelsey! Cathleen

I think your bedroom is going to be gorgeous! I really like the idea of bookshelves and mounting the TV. Also, I think a bench at the foot of the bed would look nice, and let’s face it if you have the bed to sit in you really don’t need to add chairs…. Also love the green color but if your doing walls and ceiling I wouldn’t go too dark. I like the green you’ve chosen. Can’t wait to see the results!

  • @andreasmith8213

Hey friend. Thanks for the tips. I love the built-in fireplace idea, and feel free to add the sconces you want inside it. I don't know if you're going for a focal wall like you've done in other rooms, but I think something all the way up behind the bed would really show off the tall walls and large space of the room. You could do chairs at the end of the bed, but I wouldn't break up the line of sight from the bed personally. The bed is the focus of a bedroom. You can have a seating area off to the side that would look just as classy with a small table and lamp of you plan on using it. We, as Americans, feel like we need to cram a space with stuff to make it look homey, but that may just make it look cluttered. I see a large rug grounding the space, but think about what you'll use in there. How do you spend your time in there? Remember, you'll have to dust it. Make it useful. Also, larger furniture can fill a space better than more... I think that's why I like the built-in idea. You have the space, it's large and in charge, and will give the room a full type look without the clutter that could end up there. The beams will also help fill the space in a good way. I hope this helps! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

You asked for our opinions for your bedroom…. So please note these are just suggestions…. 😊…. I would buy a really large rug so that it extends out further than the new chairs or bench that you eventually end up adding… (I probably would go for chairs…🤷‍♀️…
I would definitely go for the wooden faux beams idea! Loved that! And I personally would do a fireplace but why not go ahead and build built-ins on either side of the fireplace so you can get the best of both worlds.. 🤷‍♀️…. I also would probably only paint the wall behind my bed the dark moody color (and maybe for the side walls do like a board and Barton half walls and paint them the moody color but have the top half lighter color…..AND THE BUILT-IN’s and fireplace that dark moody color….so that they tie in together but also so that the room isn’t too dark… …. I also would do some kind of board and batten or picture frame trim behind the bed …
To me it instantly upgrades the room to a whole other level….Also I would add a small desk area for those times I don’t necessarily want to edit ✍️ videos in bed…. Maybe add a beautiful smaller scale chandelier over the bed for added ambiance 🤷‍♀️ … ok I’m done…. The dollar signs are growing larger by the minute… 💰😂 and tell your husband sorry but maybe his ping pong table can go in the garage 😂😂😂

Well when I commented on your last video, I was pushing myself to finish the room I was currently renovating lol, well it’s finished (hooray it only took 2 months 😬🤦🏼‍♀️), anyway, getting to the point 😁, I used a moody green in this room, so when you said you wanted to put a moody green in your bedroom, I was like YES 👏, I used Valspar Devon green, which is extremely dark, and completely out of my comfort zone, but I love it! I think placing a fireplace in your bedroom is a fantastic idea!! With a lovely sitting area would be so cosy at autumn/winter time, which is exactly when you need your bedroom to be cosy..oh I’m just picturing a Christmas tree in there 👏👏👏 (oh I’m sorry..I love Christmas 🤷‍♀️) and every time I make over a room it’s always with a “how would it look at Christmas time” in the back of my head 🤣, I absolutely can not wait to see your bedroom project!! 😊😊 👏👏👏 xxx

I, as always, like your ideas! I once painted my bedroom a burgundy color, back when that was in style, and it became oppressive. Just too dark. The grey/greens you are contemplating are all nice, but maybe too much for all the walls. Your bed is positioned on the right wall and you might put a bench at the end of your bed. It wouldn't impede your viewing the TV. I know I wouldn't be able to change my editing style easily and sit in a chair at the end of the bed! I love the idea of beams. You are so good at building them! A big rug at the end of the bed would look beautiful. It would be so special to do built-ins on your TV wall, and incorporate that door so it is "hidden". You could do that. You are very talented and I know whatever you come up with will be just what you want. I watch every video just to see what you're up to next!

Kelsey! Can’t wait to see the bedroom remodel. I like it when you ask for opinions! These are just my opinions, and I’ll love anything you end up doing!
Built-ins and a fireplace would be classy, and you could arch the built-ins to match the mirror that you plan to redo. I love the idea of adding beams to the ceiling. I’ve never liked the look of a rug on top of carpet, but I get it, I like carpeted bedrooms too. It’s a nice size room, I like the look of a bench at the end of the bed, or chairs. I know you’ll find lovely artwork, and sconces to display. Okay, but I have to admit something…I’m not sure about green. It’s a very popular color right now, but I am kinda growing tired of it.

    • @lauratruthseekingWarrior

I agree, I don't have any green rooms in my house, but my exterior is a digt medium blue sage green, more green than blue. We love it! I also don'tike rugs on carpets. We don't have many rugs. We have furry shedding dogs, it's a mess to clean up after them as it is with hardwoods, ceramic tile and LVP flooring. We decided no rugs except in bathrooms and comfort pad rugs in the kitchen and door mat rugs.

Hang the curtains at least two feet wider than the window on each side so the window isn’t dwarfed by the wall. The green pewter sounds lovely. If you don’t add a feature to the ceiling, consider painting the ceiling the same color as the walls for an easier way to achieve a moody look.

  • @lauratruthseekingWarrior
    @lauratruthseekingWarrior ปีที่แล้ว

You could do built ins with pull out drawers at the bottom on each side of the fireplace, then put the TV above in the middle up above the fireplace. Have skinny tower bookcase built ins wrap around the TV up the sides and maybe above it if there's enough space. We put a fireplace cabinet below the TV, love it, but we want to wrap the TV with built in bookcases they we build ourselves to go with the fireplace cabinet I bought online. We use it year round. The heat for winter the flames year round with no heat. It's all remote control. Just some options. Can't wait to you to do this room, it will be Gorgeous like everything you've already done! We want to finish our bedroom. Just need the TV wall done and paint 2 doors and paint the makeup vanity and move it to another room, maybe. I don't want the vanity there anymore. I want a door in between the 2 windows there instead to go out to the patio that we ❤! Looking forward to this next project, love the beams and I'd build a long trunk on wheels at the foot of the bed. Great storage and you can sit on it if you like.

I bought a burgundy upholstered bench for the foot of my bed and immediately regretted it. There's no back so my posture is bad every time I utilize the bench. I am now searching for 2 compatible chairs and a small table to sit between them. I am not a fan of matchy-matchy. That includes end tables, nightstands, chairs, etc. I believe the oversized Owner's bedroom would be a great opportunity for a comfy sitting area that includes built-ins, ceiling beams and possibly a fireplace. If you plan to remove the bedroom carpet I would probably do it during this phase of renovation. So much easier and quicker, at least in my opinion. A comfy loveseat or sofa might be another option at the foot of your bed. In my mind a bench isn't comfortable. Sitting on a bench drinking coffee has zero appeal. The closest Restore Store here is close to a Wayfair facility. They donate at least 6 18-wheeler truck loads of returns and damaged merch every month. Most are in the original boxes. Very nice items.
