I’m finally close! Had to come back to review the video. What’s the optimal physical placement of the camera? I’m planning on putting it about 8’ behind the user about 8’ up on a cabinet. Does it need to be directly behind the hitter? Would that work? Thanks!
Hey Springbok, I’m still trying to get my webcam putting to work and recognise the ball but will get there. Just wanted to say thank you for creating the connector. So simple to use and works great. You’re a legend mate 👏👏👏👏
Question about this connector. When I click “A” for advanced settings I’m only getting one window to move the starting box around. I’m not getting the camera settings window. Does this have anything to do with the update from 3 weeks ago? Thanks in advance for any help.
Lol Springbok, this was hilarious watching your putting. I would do the same exact thing on camera. Any recommendation on what kind of webcam would be good for this? I guess any 1080P camera + lighting set up would be sufficient?
LOL yes always happens on video of course, I wasn't going to edit or redo the whole video :) I use a Logitech 922 and it works ok but its slow a the frame rate is not great. Have a look at Alexander's github he has a a list of tested camera's which might help you.
Is this out of the box plug and play with the connector or do I need to change some of the code in the json...or adjust settings for it to work with MLM2 Pro?@@Springbok331 I gave it a go with a 1080 webcam but it could be my lighting or ball choice was not the best and will try again later tonight.
Thanks for the work you have done on this. I set it up and it works great. My setup is off to the side and would like to move it to the ceiling above my hitting area for a more realistic experience. I would like to know is there a max distance the webcam can be from the ball? Would I have to zoom in from that far away(11-12 feet)? The option to zoom in in the connector viewer is grayed out and cannot select. Is this because my camera does not have zoom capability or is it just not an option? Thanks and keep up the great work!
Thanks for replying, I have another question. I think you could help me out with this one. Is there a way to shring the window for the putting viewer? Mine does not let me shrink the normal windows way, and I feel the window take up too much room on the screen. Thanks
Hi Springbok. Thank you for the recent update on the GSPRO launcher. It is now working well with my R10. I am thinking of changing to the Mevo plus. I can see your launcher has the Mevo plus included and Im wondering if the camera putting works for the Mevo plus? Thanks in advance
Yes you can still use webcam or exputt with any of the OCR based launch monitors. Have a read of the mevo+ discussions on the github repo if you want more info. Also ask on there if you have any questions, other mevo users will be happy to help.
Sorry I don’t know much about which camera would be best as I mainly use exputt. You can checkout the GitHub repo it has lots of info or you can ask Alexander. github.com/alleexx/cam-putting-py
I downloaded SPringbok. Changed my GSpro license to API. Installed SPringbock connector. Have FS app running. The GSpro, FS Golf APP and SPrinbok all running. It says GSPro, webcam and Mevo+ all connected and running. But the shots are failing to be sent to the GS pro API. I did all the ROI's. It all seems to be working but shots wont register in GSpro. The GS Pro API does not show them. The Connector does, but it shows "Failed". ANy thoughts what could be going on?
Can you see the GSPro API window? If so when you press the connect button under GSPro section in the connector, does it go green on the connector as well as the GSPro API window? Can you see the shot data displayed on the GSPro API window?
@@Springbok331 Thanks for reply. The Springbok connector shows GSPro green/connected. It also shows the correct values for the shots (ball speed, club speed, etc). The GSPro API is there. It shows LM connected. However, it does not show the values for the shots. And hence the shots are not being transferred to GSPro. I did all the ROI's. In essence, The SB connector shows GSPro connected and green, but it is not communicating with the GSPro API. I don't know how to DM, but if you wish, I can send you some screen shots by DM. If yes, how do I DM you? Thanks BTW. I was not expecting such a quick reply.
Thanks for the video, everything worked except it wouldn’t recognize my webcam. Index zero pulls up black screen with putting lines, 1-7 pulls up white error box. GSPro, mlm connected. Any suggestions?
Well done on this! Just wondering, will it work with the camera behind the ball rather than to the side? Wondering if LH and RH players can use it at the same time?
I can't get the ball tracker to recognize my white ball to putt. Does it have to be a yellow ball or is there something missing. I did everything you did but set ball color to white.
Check out Ben Rinken's channel he has some great videos that might help you. I'm not the developer of the webcam software and I mainly use ExPutt. th-cam.com/video/cMMqP8NdkBo/w-d-xo.html
This looks very good. You missed many putts, but you missed them "correctly". The software showed a break, left or right, but you kept putting straight. Your software then overlayed a yellow line over your putt showing the correct course it would take, given the slope, that was physically accurate. Had you taken slope into account and putted following the break, left or right, it looks like the machine would of correctly putted the ball in. This is impressive. Good work on this. I'm assuming this is the webcam on your laptop?
This is really helpful. I'm excited to try to setup GSPro with my Rapsodo mlm2. My build is progressing slowly. :)
You won't be disappointed once you get it all up and running.

Is there anyway I can do this with a mevo plus? The putting on that thing is atrocious and I’m trying to find other avenues

@@rickliners6123 strange, did you try and reset the GSPro API window within GSPro? You can send me the log file to etiennevt at gmail dot com.

I'm not sure I simply call Alex's putting app passing in the params. Do you already have a config that works, you can copy the config.ini

It's a logitech 922 connected to the PC running GSPro. I'm using ExPutt for my putting with GSPro normally.
