So, in Ukraine, the climate is where all 4 seasons are clearly expressed. In spring, nature wakes up from winter, summer is warm, in autumn nature begins to prepare for winter, and winter is not very cold, but with snow.
Yes, but sometimes it can be very cold. We've been lucky with mild winters lately. But i love having 4 distinct seasons.
@@JohnnyFD It depends what region you live in! If in Kyiv in the north, winters can sometimes be cold, but there are such regions of Ukraine where there may not be snow and it’s quite warm (as for winter)!
I'm from Ukraine, I've only seen a few of your videos, but I want to thank you. You have no idea how important it is to talk about the war in Ukraine, about the chilling events that we experience every day because of Russia. Many Westerners do not believe that we have such a war here that Russia is killing us every day, they literally have to be convinced of this. Thank you for doing this. this is incredibly important.
I’m glad I have the platform to show them. 💙💛
I am from England and keep up to date with this horrible war every day by following several TH-cam channels including Johnny.
Oh we know and understand that although Kyiv has relative calm, Ukrainian men are dying everyday for their country. Here in Finland we pay tribute to the war veterans and visit their graves especially on Dec 6th, our independence day. To think that the same is happening now in Ukraine is incomprehensible. We feel this personally. Glory to Ukraine!
I'm from the US and am almost totally consumed with the horrors being mass perpetrated on Ukrainians. What happens in Ukraine determines the fate of most of the world.
What I don't understand, is why aren't most people in Kyiv contributing most of their expendable funds helping the suffering freedom fighters?
Dinning out videos and fun recreational outings rub me the wrong way in this perilous time.
Sorry, the innocent people are dying in Ukraine. In 2009 Ukraine (and some other countries) women pilots are ejected the cluster bomb on Sri Lankan Schools, hospitals and genocide the innocent people. I think the Karma is doing the boomerang. Still, in Sri Lanka the people are waiting for their justice & food, but the world is still blind after 14 years.
If you haven't already Johnny, learning sentence structures helps pick up a language quicker.
Thanks for all attention you're bringing to Ukraine and all support from your side.
You are absolutely right when you don't donate to some random guys on the streets or in metro, 99% of them are just scammers or they are trying to sell some stuff 10 times overpriced. Thank you for supporting Ukraine!
I was about to move to Kiev just before the war. I buyed my second apartment in Kiev and the plan was to move there, but the war changed my plans.
Its a city full of life and always something interesting and new.
To move from where?

"How little things matter when big things matter." BRILLIANT! And it could be interpreted in two ways: 1. (The way you probably intended) Every day things don't matter as much or at all when wars are being fought for life and for freedom. And 2. (The other way to look at it) Every day things DO matter, such as spending time with a friend, a good meal, a good night of sleep, smelling the flowers, etc. when big things, such as wars, life, and death matter. Also, very true about the best camera being the one that's always on you! Also, regarding paying taxes on charitable donations, if you set up a non-profit 501c.3, you won't need to pay taxes, and if you make less than $50K per year for that charity, the filing is very simple. Thanks again for sharing, Johnny! Great video. Stay safe!
Man...I'd never sell that Kyiv apartment. Awesome location.
You and me both!
Hey Johnny, When we met up in L'viv a few months ago, I quickly fell in love with the country and I want to return. I also saw that you live in a beautiful neighborhood, across the street from 5-star shopping, and with good financial upside if/when the economy gets back on its feet. So I understand why you love your place and want to stay. But if you could divide your time each year between Ukraine and Thailand sounds like it would be a perfect life!
More than the 5-star shopping, I love all the restaurants and cafes on my street. =)
Ate at that McDonald’s in 2018. Miss Ukraine 🇺🇦 Hopefully someday things will be normal again and we can fly into Borispol
Johnny buddy.
To answer your request am pleased to let you know that have followed ever vlog that you have put together in the Ukrainian motherland.
Yes I know people who have gone through the nightmare this war has brought to there doorstep. One very much close to me who nearly lost her life leaving Ukrainian motherland near the polish border as you must understand the psychological consequences.
With modern technology this war bring home to everyone across the world.
My dear friend is safe and now I share your vlogs with her.
She feels you are doing a wonderful work to help all Ukrainian motherland people.
Stay safe buddy.
Keep these gorgeous vlogs coming.

Greetings from Ireland. Are you worried that Russia may decide to try and take Kyiv again? Im praying that this horrible war will end soon, the Ukrainians have suffered too much and deserve peace and prosperity. I visited Ukraine in 2005 and 2008 and found Ukraine and its people very friendly.
Zero chances to reach even Bucha now (I’m Kyiv resident)
Zero chances to take Kyiv.
Not a chance in hell.
Hi from Kyiv! Erie go brah!
We are don’t worry about the Belarus border:)
You're typical Irish liar, in Ukraine (Kiev and some western region) I am was same year when started COVID19, and I found that Ukrainians are very aggressive, not friendly, and not respectful towards foreign tourists.
I’ve witnessed your video style mature, but honestly, some of your best work has been on the fly. I mean, if you’d choreographed your village visits, they wouldn’t have the same impact. I don’t want glossy. I don’t need super clean audio. The fact that you manage to cobble your results together is enough. So keep on going with your gut! And Thank You!! 💙💛
respect for knowing kosovo and what happen there aswell
Hi Johnny
Thank you to show beautiful Ukraine to us and its brave people I'm from Iran we are sorry about what happing in Ukraine and way that Russia use our drones, I want to say civilians in Iran don't agree with this unnecessary war salva Ukraine.
😢 my prayers for Iranian protesters and people who want to change Iran for the future generation.
Go to the square and protest against it
When I was younger and at the bar I have told friends who were getting out of hand to knock it off and not to look for help from me if they were doing something stupid.
I didn't have anything to prove and cut ties with those who did.
And you know all too well that most street or bar fights turn into wrestling matches.
Everytime two guys who don't know how to wrestle go at it....the stronger one gets the upper hand.
So glad u did this. I have learned a lot about u. It took me 5 years to learn English as a kid when I moved from Bosnia to Chicago.
Glad to see you alive and well.
Thanks for the update on the Orphanage 😊
Once well trained, in fighting or even in firing a gun, a person needs to realize they are a lethal weapon. I took a casual gun range class with my sister ages ago. Supposedly for fun, an adventure day with my sister. At the end we were informed we then had lethal abilities. 😱 Holy moly. That was the end of my interest in firearms.
Johnny FD, I enjoy your videos . Didn’t know there was so much planning involved when you video as you walked around , talk, eat, walk more . I guess you seem to be natural .
Speaking of Mr Bald , where is he ? Avoiding his fans ? 😂🤣
During the COVID year I had to drop channels as the creators got stale , or something . Your channel is very nice when you all are helping rescues , delivering food , etc.
Stay safe , stay well .
Thank you for showing my country and our "ordinary" daily life (if it's possible to name it so now). People abroad didn't know such country as Ukraine before the war. They thought all the time we were part of russia. They had no idea who we are. Truly speaking we had no idea ourselves that we differ from russians so much. And THANK YOU FOR SUPPORT TO ALL THE WORLD!!!
Love the way the video ended Johnny! Nice to hear the Q and A, looking forward to the next one. Thanks.
To help you learn and practice Ukrainian, maybe your friends could have a 10 minute conversation in Ukrainian when you get together. Not just hi, how are you but different topics. I know foreigns like to practice their English, so this is the reverse situation to help you out.
Yes, it would be helpful, but I need to have the vocabulary to hold a 10 minute conversation first. 😂
@@JohnnyFDI suggest that you try not speaking English for days at a time. Tell your friends to only speak Ukrainian with you. When you are forced.. much like a young child learning to talk…to express your needs, etc.. you will learn very quickly. Books are not very helpful… but actually listening carefully and learning words as you go about your day will speed things up exponentially. You will truly understand the culture you live in when you know the language 👍
Yeah that's how I learned Spanish plus listening to Spanish music. I'm pretty fluent in Spanish now I know enough to get by. I do still struggle with reading/writing it though.
@@Realalmayep immersion is key! Books and grammer should be the other 20%
This is actually a very good idea, my cousin from Ukraine learned a bunch of Croatian like this... We weren't being rude, my mother doesn't speak English so she would be speaking to us in Croatian, Russian with my cousin and we would speak English with him because we don't speak Russian or Ukrainian until one day he just said "Speak Croatian to each other infront of me, I can understand you". He picked up a lot in like 3-4 weeks. Even in terms of reading... Scary 🤣
The INSANE difference just a cheap mic makes, long overdue upgrade. I still recommend the wireless DJI mic though, super practical and cleaner look.
I'd happily use a wireless DJI Mic, but they are $329.
@@JohnnyFD Yeah that's a yikes.. 😅
I held my breath and then was so relieved to hear you say you will stay in Kyiv. I just cannot imagine you anywhere else.
I'm glad you're not selling your apartment in Kyiv. As long as it stays intact you will really enjoy it even more when the war is over, as I think there will be lots of new development happening and thus more amenities. Alot of the food options you have there in Ukraine I wish I had here in the US nearby where I live.
You're a good guy for intervening when you see someone being abused. It's a shame your hands got injured, but it was the right thing to do if there was no option to call the cops. My son lost part of his ear doing the same thing. I'm proud of him for not just looking the other way.
Love the way you capture the essence of Ukraine and the people with every video….I will visit when the war is over!

I wonder if they will use Prigozhin to try for Kyiv from Belarus. I am praying this isn’t the case.

Don´t think so, Belarus doesn´t have much of an army to begin with, and wagner troops away from eastern ukraine means there´s only the sub-par russian regular army left there... Putin has shown how weak he really is.
Big thank you for highlighting all the situation for all the foreigners, and for all the support
Thank you mate for all! 🇺🇦❤💪
Enjoy, your videos ! Some maybe little long, 30 min max would be ideal. Show what you like but don"t be obligated. Admire your unwanted war efforts to releave people's war endurance. Hope you will soon peacefully can integrate into Ukrainian society !
Good job on the Q and A.
This was awesome!!! Has answered alot of questions I have had myself. Keep up the good work. Many blessings from Indiana. Also have you seen I was featured comment in Harald Baldr newest video????
as an austrian i can tell you that you wouldn't have got in legal troubles for helping that woman! as i remembered there were some witnesses, so it's clear he startet it by hitting his girl... here in austria this guy wouldn't have a chance of sueing you, we have way better laws in this regards than the us...
The wars are politically driven Johhyn. I was in a Bosnian war as a kid. It was terrible. It’s all politicians create wars.
Greetings from NH
Thanks for your support of Ukrainians. Your channel is fantastic.
I would and never look back at that place
Johnny after the war there will be two languages within Ukrainian motherland Ukrainian and English

must have missed your chapter from thailand to Ukraine. looks like you went all in . such a contrast

Hello Johhyn. Glad u got us a new video. Thanks for sharing ur content.
agree, keep Iphone handy, the ground level filming is great for your situation. Keep up the good work.
Good video Johnny.Until next time. STAY SAFE 😊

Quality Video Johnny.... thanks from uk
I was the one who posted previously asking why I saw fighting aged men in cafes not in uniform (was not intended to be a troll post at all, just something I did not understand) . You clarified it perfectly as the economy can only support so many fighting troops and keeping that economy going was essential also. Hopefully the conflict will end soon but I have a feeling that it will be without either side seeing victory but as a compromise that most will not be happy with but will accept to keep the peace. Good Luck
I don't want to see Russia getting anything out of this war. That would send a very bad message to the world.
It's not just the economy, guys get rotated to the front and then sent home for a while to rest.
Most military guys on leave don't want anything to do with military stuff, you don't wonder around in uniform unless you have to.
@@disposabull: There are also people with the so-called invisible disabilities, which you cannot tell just by looking. We don’t know what type of medical challenges a person may have, for example if they are fighting cancer, recovering from a traumatic brain injury from being too near a mine or bomb explosion, or if they are serving in a technology or support function and just happen to have the day or week off. Some parents with 3 or more children who have been on active duty have also received a release from active service, especially if there was a family need due to health issues of a child or spouse.
We certainly shouldn’t ever be at all critical of someone who isn’t in uniform!! There are hundreds of reasons why, and we aren’t their judge! I’m glad this was brought up. 💙🌻💪🏽
Yes. A world of difference between going to the aid of a victim of genocide and mounting an unprovoked attack. Also a wrong committed in the past does not give justification for a similar wrong in the present. Some people's critical thinking and moral compass leave much to be desired.
He finally can be heard ! He has a MIC !! Hope he remembers to attach it while recording...
Aside from that, it's a very insecure and very terrifying situation for the people in Ukraine. They are trying to go about their daily work lives tending to chores, etc.
I feel so sorry (especially for the elders) needing to find and take cover from bombs being heard, not knowing if they'll be hit. God be with the Ukranian people, and may God bring them Peace.
Hi Johnny was great to see all your responses. 100% understand about the connection. Having lived in Kyiv for a 6 month period and still having very close friends in Kyiv and in the west of Ukraine it does change your perspective. Cheers from 🇦🇺
Thanks!❤
hey i dont know where u watch movies, but its in ukrainian everywhere in theatres and for a lot years actually. I think u watched it on some specific resources on russian and music too.
I'm not talking about voice over dubbed movies, i'm talking about original language films in Ukrainian with English subtitles. Help me find some of those, there are very few.
Traveling is great, and you always want to come back to Ukraine ☺🇺🇦
Haha Johnny, it seems we walked on Maidan the same day, I also have pics of that girl in a beautiful blue and yellow dress 😁👗💙💛

Hey Johnny. Love the channel. I'd really recommend taking Ukrainian classes 3 times a week if you want to see any progress. Duolingo and films are great but it's not the best foundation to learning a language
Agree😅
Are you joking? 😂😂😂😂 Why to Johnny needs to learn Ukrainian? He should learn civilised countries languages, I.f.e., Russian or Chinese!
Johnny, you are the man!
God bless you! Thank you for all you doing for Ukraine!
Right on time.
Good video 👍
What is the typical price of an apartment in your area?
I used to start watching you and the bald bankrupt, but your videos are simpler and less edited and that's why I like them more. But what is also important, I still like American English more.

thanks for the answer :)
we like your videos....I want to come to Kyiv after watching you.
Good video Johnny. This helps reconcile what we hear about war torn Ukraine, and what you refer to as "daily life".
I enjoy seeing Ukraine living as normally as possible despite Russia's attempts to destroy the country and subjugate the people. As John Sweeney regularly says Vladimir Putin do F off.

This "war" will not be won in the traditional sense. There will eventually be a negotiated peace of some sort, and both sides will say they were victorious. You can count on that outcome. The sooner this happens, the sooner that the people of Ukraine can get back to normal (well, normal for them LOL).
Your videos have definitely matured over time, as have you, I reckon Benjamin wore off on you. ha ha. 🤣
