Cool clips. I've never heard of some of these bands, but so much great energy!

TEENAGE HEAD were one of the best punk bands of the late 70's altogether. if they had been american or british they probably would've been much bigger. ditto THE SAINTS in australia.

Their name (Teenage Head) alone kept them off of U.S. radio and TV. Had they played SNL in the late 70's they would have taken off.

Too bad the DAYGLO ABORTIONS of Victoria BC CANADA were not on here, they have been playing since 1979 and still play. First Band in Canadian History to be charged by the Supreme Court of Canada for OBSCENE MATERIAL.

I was a canadian kid going to church listening to pop radio in the mid 80's until I heard Dayglo's and Forgotten Rebels from a friend who got a tape from an older brother.. They were the first 2 punk bands I ever heard and it scared the shit out of me. I can't be the only one who got into punk that way but I never see either of those bands mentioned in stuff like this.

The first gig I played at my band (World War IIID) opened for Dayglo - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the mid-80s in Edmonton . . .the salad days.

Great post. Lots of memories from when I first discovered punk rock. Title's misleading, as there's nothing really 80s about it though, this is just about 70s bands.
