Ah, now this right here was my introduction to fighting games. The SNES was my first console and, while it was over a decade after it was released, I had so much fun with this game. I had no idea who Scorpion, Raiden and Johnny Cage were until my older brother somehow got a copy of MK1(and by the way, I never noticed the lack of blood as a kid so now it doesn't really bother me)
Perfectly depicts the dread and dark reality Liu Kang and friends are faced with. Kahn managed to do when the heroes prevented him from doing: taking control of Earth while merging it with Outworld and absorb every, last human soul on the planet. Raiden can no longer assist them as the Earth is now under the property of Outworld and the Gods of that realm.. The heroes are now left on their own, spread across the world to fight for their survival against Kahn's forces. All of mankind as we know it rests on their shoulders to stop the Emperor for good.
@@BrianAwesome N64 Trilogy took up a lot of memory on the N64 cart. As a result the sound fidelity took a huge hit in an effort to squeeze the game onto 10MBytes N64 cart. For reference, one the final N64 games: Resident Evil is on a 64MBytes with a very impressive compression algorithm applied to it.
@@BrianAwesome Cost played a major factor. The tech was incredibly expensive in the 90s and scaled by price while compact disc was far cheaper to manufacture and offered better storage capacity.
Sculptured Software did a great job porting the arcade music as best they could to an inferior system. Sounds great. Put some headphones on. Definitely better than most of the music on MK Trilogy for N64

Rose tinted earphones, the snes is a direct copy with inferior samples and fewer sound channels. It's objectively inferiornto the arcade, nostalgia is one heck of a drug
You know it can be a question of taste. Preferences don't take into account quality of sounds. Lots of people prefer B movies to hollywood stuff and that's ok.

Crazy how much better the tracks sound here than they do on the N64 version of Trilogy.

It sounds darker, more serious, and badass on the SNES, whereas on the Arcade original I always thought it sounded quite over the top...
