Thank you! Himself had been fighting it for 40 mins. Watched. Walked outside “let me dear”. Had the wheel off inside a minute. “I’ll let you finish up”. Marriage does not contain a sweeter moment.
Haven't tried this on my car, but this is the first video I've seen where it's not something I haven't arleady tried. It looks like this will work thanks.
Man this was a lifesaver!! I really appreciate your help on this one, I tried other methods and since my tire was flat I didn't want to hit it with a hammer. 10/10 will recommend.
Just another comment thanking you for this video. I tried pulling, kicking, hammering, spraying WD40 and silicon spray. This was the only thing that actually helped. Thanks a lot mate.
40 minutes of kicking and hammering until I saw this. It took me one minute!!!! Thanks. I used a patio stone, about one-third in, and as soon as I unjacked the vehicle, the wheel came off (and the patio stone cracked!)
Thanks chap! i was out changing my winter tires after doing work on the car and i just wanted to be done when i get to the second tire and its locked up. i never knew this wood block trick and it did the trick thank you so much
im someone has a hard time with issues like these because im never prepared, follow very carefully and this will work in 5 minutes, please be sure to have the bolts in so it doesn’t come out! struggled all day and watching this fixed it in 5 minutes
I did this yesterday with a brick and it worked. I had spent the previous day and a half trying other ideas from TH-cam but none them worked on my SUV. The tire had a big hole from a sharp rock so it could not be pressurized. A series of sledgehammers and a large timber just bounced off. Driving in a circle did not work because it was a rear wheel. There was not enough room under the car to use a long pry-bar. Most of a can of PB-Blaster made no difference, and I did not want to try heating the wheel with a torch.
Nice tip !! My car has been needing my spare tire quite frequently these past five years and for some reason every time I put on my tire it rusts on. It is quite an old car though. Needless to say I need this tip basically every time I change my tire
@@KarlFixes until I saw your site, I was finished...I thumped my wheel with , club hammer, rubber mallet...kicked it ...soaked it in penetrating oil...I thought it was garage time...very grateful.... I had to drop car 4 times , each time quicker than last... then spun wheel and dropped it twice more.. brilliant...and no damage.... drilled rust off with wire brush attachment and copper greased between wheel and hub...thanks Karl...
Thank you for the awesome tip! Our tire was extremely seized and nothing worked to get it off. Put a 2 feet long piece of 4x4 wood under the tire. It did not get it the first time it was lowered, so jacked it up again and lowered it with a bit more force, and it popped right off!!
I've had good luck with using the padded end of a jack handle ( or pipe with a towel around the end) and stick it in an opening of the wheel and pry it off. Just did this today and it came off in seconds.
I had one stuck bad today on a F-150. After kicking, hammering, I got a wooden dowel stuck thru from the inside, and a big hammer, hit it, roll a little, hit it, bingo.
Going to give this a go. I was out all morning yesterday before work trying to swap to my summer wheels. I was kicking for like 20 minutes and also drove the car on the road swerving left and right and braking hard in forward and reverse with the lug nuts slightly loose to try and brake the wheel free. Nothing so far. I’m hoping this will work. Wish me luck.
@@KarlFixes Just for more info, this still didn't work. I ended up having to drill through the rim and tap threads into it. Then screwing in a bolt to push the rim off the hub. Never had a wheel that suck before. Crazy.
If it's really damn stuck and this won't work I put the lug nuts on loosened maybe a quarter inch and drive it over the edge of curbs. If it's the front tire you can park it up against a curb like that and turn the power steering into it.
I'm going to try this with my car. I tried the tip method and even with a BFH it wasn't coming off, so hopefully this will do it before I resort to heat and a new rim
The problem is that's also the hack for breaking the bead of a tire when you don't have the proper tools. In that case you use something bigger, but it's pretty close to the same thing.
I think you are getting "lugs" and "studs" mixed up. Good tip though. For a particularly stubborn rim I ended up having to use a 2nd jack (or jackstand) to gradually increase the amount of pressure focused on the wheel. Same concept still applied though. Much appreciated :)
What usually works is spraying pb blaster between the rim and the rotor, hit the rubber tire hard FROM THE BACK on one side a few times, then again on the other side and keep switching sides until it comes off. For really stuck tires, you'll do maybe 5 mins of non-stop hammering with a heavy sledgehammer
Been doing that for a minute... Dropped the weight on the wheel with no lug nuts... Banged the shit out of it... What do I do now? Yes I've sprayed the shit out of it, been at this for weeks I can't drive the car any longer my pads are grinding at this point lol ridiculous
I've tried EVERYTHING, nothing works, wd40, big sledgehammer, dropping it off the jack with one stud even drove it round the block with 2 loose studs, nothing, aaarrgghh. I'll try this tomorrow.
I finally got it off. I raised it and hit it with a rubber mallet /my spare tire. After raising it I would lower it. I just kept repeating about 15 times or so and it finally broke free. I also kept spraying it with wd40. I started taking more risk and lifting hire and letting it fall faster. It might actually take you about 20 or more times until it breaks free. I took a chance at the end and loosened my lug nuts more, but it can be risky if the lugnuts are too loose. I wish you luck. @@miriam7408
I hit on the outside with a spare tire when it was raised and on the inside with a 4 pound rubber mallet. Be careful if under the car. If you can, try not to lay under car when hitting the inside of the tire. @@miriam7408
I'm dealing with a stuck wheel tougher than any I've ever had. Used all the tricks I've learned over the years with no results. I've even driven the car at speed with loose lug nuts and whipping the steering wheel from side to side.
hey i dealt with this today. i used wd40 and drove on the tire with loose lug nuts but it didn't work. what ended up working for me was getting an "8 inch 3 jaw puller" from harbor freight it worked like a charm
Spent 2 hours, gave up, made breakfast and coffee, watched this, worked liked it was supposed to. 5 minutes. thanks
Excellent!
Thank you! Himself had been fighting it for 40 mins. Watched. Walked outside “let me dear”. Had the wheel off inside a minute. “I’ll let you finish up”. Marriage does not contain a sweeter moment.
That would certainly leave me gobsmacked! Nice work!
Literally AMAZING!!! 1.5hrs of hammering, lowering and shaking, repeat and this came off in less than a minute.
Now, any tips on getting a drum back on after changing the brakes 😂
I spent 3 hours hammering the wheel and it didn't work. Tried this trick and tire got off in 5 minutes. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
Spent a good hour trying to get my wheel off with no avail, tried this and off in a few minutes....legend sir!
Tried for two hours and sokaed my shirt. Watched video and it works in Less than 3 mins thanks
Glad it helped

This is honestly the been the most helpful video I’ve ever found on TH-cam thank you 🙏🏻

Excellent trick mate, worked a treat getting my seized wheels off (though one of them needed a bit more persuasion).
Exactly what I needed right now. Thanks!
Yo this trick works. It is legit just did it on rims I always had to us settling torch to get off. Thanks man you rock.
Worked well and the flat rock helped boost the wheel so I could
more easily get the winter wheels on.
Thank you thank you thank you. It worked like a charm! Head was melted until I tried this.
Great tip, worked like a charm! It saved my day 😀
Brilliant.... I've hammered off more wheels than I'd like to admit and this worked first time I dropped the car!
GREAT video...was able to past my stuck/rust wheel so that I can change my lower power steering line on a Camry
Thanks so much man I was worried I would not be able to get that stupid wheel off but I could thanks to you.
Nearly spent two hours trying to get it off thank you very much for making the video much 😊
No problem 😊

Seems a great idea.Had this problem.Kicking, hammering didn't work.Last time drove around a bit with loose wheel nuts,to shift it.
brother i was about to break out a blow torch and melt my wheel off. this saved me
Execellent tip, many thanks!
Tried it. Works great. Thanks.
Glad it helped
Thank you that worked great. I also used some WD40 on the lugs.
Omg dude. I love you!!!
I’ve spent hours of my life until this glorious video came across my feed
Glad I could help!
Yes. that was a top tip. Genius. Sub'd.
Thanks Karl, This worked easily.
Amazing! Thanks! Saved me a lot of grief today!
It actually works! Thanks

Put grease/ anti seize on the hub when reinstalling wheel
Thanks, I needed this tip.
You're a lifesaver👍👍
It worked!! Thank you :)
Freaking genius dude thanks
This works well. Thank you
Worked like a charm
Worked like a dream, had a flat tyre and the elevation helped BIG TIME!
Nice one, will give it a go.
Awesome idea and gonna try it now on this stuck flat…
Brilliant...did this exactly, it took it to rotate the wheel..then it broke ...tried the hammer technique and that failed ..you are genius 👍
Yeh it definitely works I was stumped for ages till I came up with this. Mine was rusted on tight

Does it work great pulling the tire with the centric rings caked on

Givin it a couple more boots did it for me 😂
only reason i wud change the tyre is when its flat. Not sure if putting that brick on edge like that wud work on flat tyre

Same. Today i tried this 10 time with different stuff. Didnt work. Tomorrow will try your method. Sounds like it will work
@@ALINUED Try driving around the block turning back and forth with lugs backed off like that too. It will break loose eventually.
Easiest thing to do is to loosen the lug nuts then drive the car slowly 10-15 ft while turning the steering wheel. Works like a charm
I'm going to try this with my car. I tried the tip method and even with a BFH it wasn't coming off, so hopefully this will do it before I resort to heat and a new rim
Another solution is to put block of wood between tire and chasis. Pull stering well in the opposite direction.
The problem is that's also the hack for breaking the bead of a tire when you don't have the proper tools. In that case you use something bigger, but it's pretty close to the same thing.
Loosen the lugs and drive it in a parking lot and turn hard. Works in seconds
i found this vid when i was about to leave my lug nuts on loose and drive around the yard... ill try this first
That would also work butane a little dangerous
What if it's flat
It’s been like 7 years since it was last off

I've tried EVERYTHING, nothing works, wd40, big sledgehammer, dropping it off the jack with one stud even drove it round the block with 2 loose studs, nothing, aaarrgghh.
I'll try this tomorrow.
Does this mess with the alignment tho?
No because all its doing is getting the wheel off there no change to any suspension parts
What about when u have a flat not everyone is changing tires cause they can
Same rules apply just hit the flat tyre after you have jacked it up
@@KarlFixes my dumbahh figured that out the other day lol thanks man
ONE solid kick did it for me
Mine stuck so bad that this didn’t work
Northern logic ftw, I just ordered a hammer too hahaha
If u wheels rusted on like mine was you will probably need that hammer to get the discs off anyway
Didn't work thus far
Didn’t work for me as well.

A ramp is not a jack stand. You lost all credibility.
