    Would it make any difference at all if one decided to place the water inlet on the back side across from the sprinkler head ?

    • @vandit0o0o
      @vandit0o0o  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I believe the water pressure would remine the same. Give it a try if that design would benefit you in any way.

    I would like to try this build but it seems as my home doesn’t produce enough psi for water. I brought two sprinkler units from lowes for 10$ a piece. Hooked both up but can only use one at a time. Does this unit build psi in the heads.

    • @vandit0o0o
      @vandit0o0o  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. No, I wouldn't say this sprinkler head builds pressure. You may want to look into upping the water pressure from your main incoming water line. Just a little at a time until you notice better water pressure on the heads. Speaker with a plumber in case you're unsure of your main water line and don't use thin 1/2" hoses. Stick with 3/4".

    • @craftman5632
      @craftman5632 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I got low water pressure at my house too, what I did was added a double spigot to the faucet and ran two 3/4" garden hose one for each sprinkler and I was able to use both sprinkler at the same time, and on that double spigot it comes with a shut-off valve so you can adjust the water flow for each line.Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing:

    I see lots of videos like this and I am left wondering, why not just buy the impact sprinkler spikes and use the rain bird adapters? I mean the spikes can be bought for less than $5.

    • @vandit0o0o
      @vandit0o0o  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. The spike is the whole reason of why I made this stand. For me and my neighbors, it got extremely annoying dealing with the spikes every week, especially when you got to adjust 6 spikes at a time. Not only that, when the spike hits rock as it goes in the ground, it bends and eventually breaks. In my opinion, spike are a temporary quick fix, annoying to set up and they can be a little brittle. And honestly, for me watering my grass became much more enjoyable after using this sprinkler stand.

    • @Nathan-ho7vr

      @@vandit0o0o rocky, hard ground is an obvious reason to opt for a stand over a spike, can't believe I didn't figure that out on my own...

    Why not use an x fitting with female threads on top, a five way fitting?

    • @vandit0o0o
      @vandit0o0o  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question. For the shape of my own lawn, this was a simpler and cheaper solution. Since I setup the sprinklers at the farthest corner, I wanted to make sure those corners didn't miss out on the watering since these sprinkler heads are meant to be only a few inches about the ground. Plus, this design is still very stable while actively watering. I hope this helps.

    • @wb6vpm
      @wb6vpm หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because I don’t think they make it. I’ve been looking for years for this, and never found it, at least in something pressure rated (I have found them for furniture, but not for plumbing). If you know of any, please post it here!

  • @lcoop89
    @lcoop89 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Or - if you don't like your impact sprinkler or other type of sprinkler that screws into a base , a lot of them the impact (or other) heads will unscrew off of the base and a half inch irrigation "riser" will fit into that threaded hole in the base and then screw your pop-up onto that riser in the ready-made base 😊

    • @vandit0o0o
      @vandit0o0o  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there, yes that is a convenient option. I just have to many sprinkler heads to keep spiking down into the ground (and are a potential safety hazard do to the pointy spike). I personally just got tired of it, especially because my lawn has so many rocks that have bent my spike and have had to replace the base due to the spike breaking making it unstable. In my opinion, these pvc stands are way less of a hassle and are not limited to just placing them on the lawn. In the end it's whatever works best for you. ;)

    • @lcoop89
      @lcoop89 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vandit0o0o this pretty much also works on ANY kind of base I have found , spiked or "sled" including cheapy ones where a sprinkler head screws into pretty much any kind of base not necessarily a spiked one 😊
      (edit: it does need to be a somewhat broad base like your video shows if you want to use a gear drive rotary sprinkler so the emerging water pressure from the sprinkler doesn't topple it over - this would not really apply to a lesser water pressure sprayer head sprinkler where you could use a smaller base)

      Hey there, great question. The pvc parts may come out to around $17. The glue & thread tape around $13. So around $30 total, but you don't use up all the pvc pipe so you can save money there when building more stands. Hope this helps.
