    If you use night shot? It's a good idea to take the lens hood off as it blocks the infrared light beam.

    Very well done, I've watched several different videos on this camera and even afterward I learned more than I knew before watching yours.

    Great video. I’m looking to replace my AX100 as the 3.5mm socket is showing its age, so I really appreciate the close ups and detail for the XLR inputs that you’ve shown 👍 Cheers, Dave.

    Good review sir. But there is 1 very bad flaw.. it either turns on the screen OR the viewfinder. But never both. Because menu diving is always a "must" to even run these..... both should be left ON all the time. Thanks for your vid .....Cheers!

    How did you find the stabilisation in a professional grade cam like this against the AX53 with BOSS? I won't go something so high as this, but have been looking at the AX700. Still erring towards the BOSS on the rather old AX53 though...

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      BOSS is amazing. To me, it's the perfect mid-point between too much stabilisation (Hero 7 etc which try to lock out all motion) and too little. For walk and talk stuff and long zooms, it's great. It's not perfectly implemented on the AX53 (it can turn off if it detects little motion which is very annoying) but it's better than the stabilisation on the Z90. I am still shocked at how good this 2016 camera is.

      @shopafelic 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tdcattech the BOSS turning off sounds annoying indeed. I've also noticed occasional jumps/jerkiness when panning in some sample videos on youtube. Not sure if it's the BOSS gimbal causing it. Camera does seem fit for purpose though (foregoing some image quality).

      You need a couple of extra Sony accessories for that (VMC-UAM2 and CBK-NA1).

    I recently purchased this camera and I see there is 2 memory card slots
    One says SD card only, does that mean I can use CF express. Add for other slot? Or????

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I think it might relate to one slot supporting the old Sony Memory Stick format (probably Pro Duo on this camera).

    If you TEND to have trouble finding the meny button on the Z90 then you probably have too many cameras :) But not a fan of its placement, should perhaps be closer to the joystick.

    Thanks. The question is simple. Canon cameras of similar format
    Z90 have ventilation holes, but this camera does not, so it overheats? No one spoke honestly about it, everyone only praises this soap dish.

    What about the audio they say that in order to audio from loud to low you have to go back into the menu and order to go from high to low then come back out of out of the menu and proceed to record your person the how come you can't just go into high or low while you're filming the person to see the levels of The Voice I don't understand why they didn't do that why would you have to go to a menu to fix it

    What's the longest recording time at 1000 fps. If I hook up ftp will it be hours?

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It’s only something like 5 seconds. Remember though that this will be about 3.5 mins of footage at this frame rate. It’s plenty to capture an event worthy of this frame rate (impact, explosion, sports shot etc.)

    • @777hiesler
      @777hiesler 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tdcattech so an example would be if I recorded 5 seconds of lighting strikes I can stretch the film out so it would take 3.5 minutes to watch?
      I am buying this camera next week. How much would it cost for a cinematic lens and is it easy to change?
      This camera is obviously better to use then a Samsung phone or GoPro isn't it.
      Thanks for replying so fast. Between 5 second burst how long till you can record again?

  • @ninjacaptor

    Say you set the camera to what you need right use it for a convention you come home you take out the battery and everything 3 month comes along you put the battery back in the camera to get ready for another convention but everything is all the settings that you did originally are gone how do you keep everything that you put for your camera all the settings that you put for your camera stay in the camera if you haven't used it for 3 months that all your settings don't disappear how do you lock everything in that you don't have to do that anymore that you wouldn't put it in a battery after 3 months it's still there
