Would an IT degree give one a leg up in the process of becoming a Cloud Engineer?

Currently about to graduate with a bachelors in electrical/computer engineer, and have been very interested in network and cloud engineering. Is it possible to land an entry level job with this degree and little networking/cloud knowledge? What are the steps I should take?

Should I pursue an AWS certificate or a GCP Associate Cloud Engineer course? I've applied for the GCP course already. Can I pursue AWS after completing the GCP Associate Cloud Engineer course? Please tell I am really confused right now

Yes i would say 80% of Cloud Engineers are comming from Sysadmin roles. Really a Cloud Engineer is the same thing as a Systems Engineer just as a Cloud Administrator is the same thing as a Systems Administrator. The only difference is you are deploying administering, and maintaining a Cloud Infrastructure opposed to an On-Prem infrastructure.

I’m 38 years old and had a degree in Psychology but never used it when i came to Canada in 2012. After working as a warehouse worker I’m looking to upgrade my career. Do I need to get a 4 year degree course or can i take a 2 year computer course in order to have a stepping stone on becoming a cloud engineer?

I’m currently work using lot cloud services and devops and serverless , we use groovy and python scripting how to compelety transition into cloud engineer what to do

So based on the requirements, a Cloud Engineer needs to be a developer, a devops engineer, a networking engineer and a system administrator all in one, and on top of that to study for at least 2-3 certifications from either AWS/Azure/GCP and know the info there by heart? This does not seem very realistic, it's hard to work towards even one of these things. Speaking as a developer myself here.

This is probably the only video anyone should refer while researching about a cloud career.
