My Sony cassette deck is snapping tapes. Could it be that I need to replace the pinch rollers or could it be something else?

Check the belts and rollers. Would say it s the rollers if otherwise it works

I was that deck but had a problem with recording, i was adjust the rec level to the max and the level stayed ok but had another issue, the highs sounded distorted in some music, was very annoyed, i adjusted the bias and hx pro regulators and nothing, i changed a lot of capacitors and nothing, at least i had to sell it for a half i payed for this deck.
Another thing i don liked was about the chassis, the bottom was very thin and you can bend it easily, i don't know if the es version was so bad like this

i received another tc wr870 i belive. Front was bent along with whole mechanism... took some work to bend back the mech but it went well in the end.
This unit in particular sounded preeety good

Considera che la meccanica A si basa solo sulle calibrazioni interne del bias,la meccanica B ha un potenziometro per calibrare perfettamente il bias,quindi con la meccanica B e bias perfetto,zero differenza
