@@jn3750 FR wise it s just as good if not better than some naks, ~26kHz on metal. Soundwise it s very close too. The only disasvantage i see is the sandwich head wich, without NR bleeds from rec to playback a little bit.

@@RDM-CassetteDeckRepairs 26khz at -3/+3 Db? that is what i thought. i tested mine a few years ago it was around 23Khz. and your tested and factory-spec Yamaha WRSMs are much lower than that of the top of the line NAKA DR-1 (0.035%)!

this one didnt perform to spec so couldn t do proper comparasion. TEAC V7000 didnt have the chance to test yet. VS ZX9 if it were performing properly you could possibly compare it to, but the zx9 would be more precise most of the time due to the posibility of per ch. adjustment

@@RDM-CassetteDeckRepairs everything is in perfect condition, though it had not been used for years.. I have an AKAI GX-7 with the same issue.. non use for years but that last time either one was used they worked. So you're in Romania? All I did concerning the Yamaha K-2000 was clean the boards thoroughly and the inside of the chasis.. the tornado had deposited fine pieces of pine bark and deep inside the deck. The roof had blow off of the house but the bookcase the K-2000 was in flipped over onto the couch so at least the K-2000 and A-1000 amp was covered from the rain. I was able to clean the amp and it worked just fine (still in use occassionally) after cleaning it and leaving for months to be sure everything was good and dry in a controlled environment. After cleaning the k-2000 it has sat on in a closet in a clean air-conditioned environment. I've been using the K-1000 that i bought on ebay in order to play my pre-recorded dbx tapes---which I had recorded on the K-2000 years earlier. I really would like to restore this deck.. I think I may need to replace the drive tires soon on the k-1000 as well.. it occassionally stops playing but then works again after restarting. I appreciate any advice you can give. I have basic electronics trouble shooting but to be honest, I kind of just stored the unit after cleaning it back to new like clean.. I haven't tested any circuits or disassemble anything other than to clean the inside components.. I'll get it down out of the closet and look it over again.. it's been several years since I touched it.

@@RDM-CassetteDeckRepairs im speaking about, the cassette decks with dolby b, c, hx pro, and the cassette decks with double dolby b, c, s hx pro, wich they write it also. Check for example the Yamaha KX 390. The technics Z7 don't write somewhere that have double dolby system.. At least from what someone can see from the video.

@@user-rb6wc6yt1v many don t mention it s double dolby or dbx, but it is in most cases. Very few don t have double dolby.

Not mine... i just restore them. I wouldnt really choose an AZ6/7.... The overall build quality is poor and all adjustments are automatic (pretty much no adj. points inside, all need to be done from eeprom memory)

Sorry to hear abbout your loss. Yeah theese naks may not be the most reliable but one ZX9 i d say should stay in spec and function properly for 3-5years after a full revision. Even after that, it will mostly need a realignment only and maybe an idler, but very low chances of that. The other decks like the TEAC have more reliability focused mechanisms thus they last longer.

I d love one of theese for myself too.. though they rarely appear anywhere on the internet in decent condition. The guy who owns this one owns a couple more too, he stole all the good ones haha.

@@RDM-CassetteDeckRepairs I'm in Scotland so may have to import one from somewhere. Would also love a Sony TC-K777 (ES or non ES). My two main decks are a Nak DR10 and a Sony TC-K555 ES II which are both pretty good

This is probably my favourite deck of them all. The 1000ZXL is probably that 1% better but i like manual calibration.

They are very close, i vote for the K2000 though

My Yamaha stack consists of a K-950, K-960, K-2000, KX-670, and KX-630. They are all very good.

Well.. pretty much all components that aged were changed, forgot to mention it has been fully recapped.

@@RDM-CassetteDeckRepairs Nevertheless, maintenance is required, but the essence of Nakamichi soundboards is that uncompromising approach that gives that wonderful sound...

@@SLK638 This is currently the best deck i ve heard so far. Secound place goes to Yamaha K2000.

@@RDM-CassetteDeckRepairs You can see in Nakamichi a set of very high-quality materials in the heads, in the mechanism and in the circuitry. Yamaha soundboard from the 90s and sounds due to trickery, it sounds pleasant and not in an audiophile way...
