I'm a Tesla fan and shareholder from Europe. I feel there wasn't any better time to upload this video than now, which gives us back the human touch behind the scenes. I went through near bankruptcy twice in my life, and am holding on what I have now in retirement humbly and happy and appreciating people who were able to fare better than me, being aware of the huge human cost you had to give to literally "build your dreams".

Thank you for sharing this story! As a Tesla stock holder hearing Mr. Musk’s actions in trying times gives me strength to stay strong in my position. It gives me hope that I am part of a company that inspires the world just like Elon brings hope to all humans.

@Mike-vq1fm If Tesla would have given some minor gift, like t-shirt or anything, that would not change a thing. Outsiders would criticise them exacly the same: a trillion markecap company and only a t-shirt for the people who saved them, etc. Nothing would be enough.
The thing is: it is not our business to tell, but for those who participated from both side what should be considered acceptable compensation for a favor, which includes nothing, because - as I said - it is not really a help if someone expect anything in return.

I agree. The nasties are coming out of the woodwork to punish Elon for his world view. He is trying to save democracy and challenging the power structure in this country that wants to take our freedoms away: big tech, media, big money, our government etc... Both Musk and Kimbal have spent their lives thinking big and trying to improve the life of everyone. This sort of worldview when successful is punished. It would be interesting to dig into the deleware case to see who these shareholders are that are complaining. I'd guess the lawyers representing them have ties to the system that wants to stop elon. Gregory Varallo is the lead lawyer and I bet if you dig you will find a motive. I mean Musk met the impossible targets and 80% of shareholders voted for it. This sort of interference from a handful of people changes the way corporations can incent their leaders.
The judge in Delaware absolutely made the best choice.

Thanks for the news flash. 81% of shareholders, including me, knew what they voted for when they approved Elon’s compensation. We realized that if he could achieve the unprecedented growth We would all get wealthy and he did. Every CEO in America should have a compensation plan that has no salary and they only get paid if they achieve outrageous goals. It perfectly aligns compensation with shareholders interests.

I have owned three companies for over 25 years and have experienced two recessions and a pandemic. Elon Musk achieved what no other company in history has done: he scaled a business teetering on the edge of bankruptcy into the fastest-growing large manufacturing company ever, all while sleeping on the factory floor. The survival of Tesla itself is miraculous, with numerous improbable events keeping it afloat. Most CEOs would have failed, comfortably ensconced in their mansions, but Elon chose to couch surf, foregoing a salary for years and selling everything he owned and gambled to save SPACEX and TESLA at the same time. Wtf have you done with your life that you deserve to project your BS opinion on a company that you don't own shares of or know anything about it?
When have you led by example, sleeping on a factory floor to uplift your employees, many of whom became millionaires due to their work on the production line? I personally know seven individuals who have worked at SpaceX and Tesla for over 12 years, enduring the challenging times.
The judge's ruling will be overturned. Biden's involvement in this matter disappoints me, as I regretfully voted for him and supported him in the past. I won't repeat that mistake. 81% of Tesla shareholders, myself included, approved Musk's compensation package. You and the judge are cowards. You were not there, and my investment was in Musk, and I was unwavering. You woke POS.

The worst thing about most judgemental people is they expect instant success. You see it every day, even now with Starship - "oh it blew up, it's crap, it'll never work". Damn.. imagine that. You're fighting on your end, trying to save your company and help your brother, and the bank is on you for not paying your mortgage. You feel like David fighting Goliath... and then the _bank_ goes under and you realize that somewhere else there were people just like you who were trying to save _their_ company - their bank - and they just failed. And they failed, in part, because you exploited the slack the bank gave you in allowing you to forfeit your mortgage payments.
“Exploiting the slack” translates to inability to pay and working with the lender honestly. This is somehow exploitive?
