When I say 479 in the Rillaboom section, I mean 471. Either number works for the point we’re trying to make, but the math is off in the video, woops

When I was a child I never payed attention. I simply played until I found a person I couldn't beat, then would grind in a field until I could win. At 28 I am actually learning how to play this game properly.

In essence, base stats are basically reflective of stat growth. High base stats means fast growth, low base stats means slow growth.

Abilities are a huge change, too, like huge power (which doubles attack but was a massive buff on azumarill because belly drum and being fairy type) or guts, which increases attack a lot when burnt when strength usually gets cut in half

Some people saying yall talk too fast, but personally i think most youtubers talk too slow, i often have to watch longer vids on 1.25x bc of all the pauses. Anyways great vid i love this channel, taking a break from my replay of legends arceus (im gonna complete the dex finally) to consume more pokemon content lol

So, I have been figuring out Sheer Force for a long time and this is what I have.
We first have to look at the ability itself. It negates Secondary Effects. What exactly does that mean? Well there are certain things that count as Primary Effects such as Recoil, Self Stat Loss, Self KO, etc. These effects are usually the ones detrimental to the user or modifies the attack. This means Always Crit, High Crit and things like Flying Press’ dual typing is also a Primary Effect.
Secondary Effects are many effects that have a % chance of happening after a move goes off. Status Chance, Flinches, Enemy Stat Lowering, Stat Boosts etc. are all considered Secondary Effects.
Now, there are some hard coded exceptions that might not seem to be the case, but I am not gonna go into that.
Now… from what I understand, they most likely coded many in battle effects as Secondary Effects as a shortcut to help with turn flow.
For instance, Life Orb will tack on a Secondary Effect for you to lose 10% of Your HP every time you use a damaging move. This is why Sheer Force removes the recoil. A similar phenomenon occurs when you hold something like a Kings Rock. Interestingly they also coded Emergency Exit, Wimp Out, Berserk and a whole slew of both Abilities and Items that act in this way, thus are also negated by Sheer Force!
Here is an interesting thing though. Only moves effected by Sheer Force has these effects negated. But you can add secondaries with Life Orb and Kings Rock… but Sheer Force won’t work on a move such as Earthquake when boosted by them. How does the game determine this?
Starting from when Sheer Force was introduced, all moves have a Sheer Force Positive or Negative tag on them. And… currently we have a bug where Jet Punch (Palafin’s Signature Move) is affected by Sheer Force even though Priority is NOT a Secondary Effect. Only Palafin can get Jet Punch, so this will usually never show up, but if you hack Jet Punch on a Sheer Force Pokemon, you will see that Life Orb Recoil is negated and the move is still Priority.

700 speed but 2 in every other stat would be like a bad version of Deoxys-speed, where the main goal would be set up entry hazards and die. Of course, you could give this mon every supporting move in the game and it would be decent enough (used in Ubers as a sacrifice)

Natures determine a Pokémon's stat growth and preferred flavors. It should be noted that Mints only change the stats, but others like the preferred flavors, wild Pokémon encounters, and Pokémon breeds are not affected.

Love me some clodsire attention. Unfortunately, due to it being a very passive pokemon and the current gen 9 smogon OU meta being hyper offense oriented, it's just barely above the 4.52% threshold it needs to stay in OU.

Electrode not having Rapid Spin. It's a ball! It even had a toy that was a spinning top back in the day. Is it a balancing thing since it's so fast?
Aerodactyl has the ability Rock Head, which protects it from recoil damage, but it can't learn the recoil moves it would get STAB on - Head Smash
Also perfect candidate to learn Headlong Rush but also doesn’t learn accelerock?!
An why does Aurorus Not learn Aurora Veil travesty being a rock type literally covered in gems and not being able to learn power gem is the worst. Also umbreon being the moonlight pkmn but not having moo blast makes no sense..
Onion/steeling should’ve learned coil!!! An Ho-oh revival blessing should be standard

Here’s a fun example of crazy stat boosting. Venusaur at level 100 with max investment will have 284 speed. Well when that is doubled with Chlorophyll, its speed becomes 568. Which would be equivalent to having a Base Speed stat of 209

Let’s call the BST 710 Pokémon with 700 Speed and 2 in everything else “Freako”
You can still invest 510 EVs in stats to make it useful
Say 252 in HP to give it a fighting chance and 252 in whichever attacking stat you wish (or even split in half between them both), last 4 in whichever defense you prefer
Sounds like they could be an absolutely devastating physical or special sweeper since they’ll outspeed everything, and imagine if they had like Wonder Guard? Not to mention it’s typing and at least for gen 9, it’s Tera type? The possibilities are endless
