@@michaelnuk Thankyou - always good to hear some positive feedback. I’m planning to carefully build the rolling chassis this weekend, then reunite the body shell next week. Then the bit I’m not keen on, further scrubbing the body shell…and a fun bit, adding new side stickers!
The C5 is such a stupid vehicle, underpowered, slow and short range, but when it was built, it was the best they could do. I am certain that someone has resto-modded one with modern batterys, motors and electronics that works much better and gives it more range, speed and makes it better in many ways, but original it is a time capsule. Oh, and that front brake from a BMX, just brilliant, they were never good enough on BMX bikes either... (there is hydraulic replacements if you don't want to go the discbrake route)
@@MENSA.lady2 totally agree on the mileage, no where near their stated miles. These days you have far superior battery tech, they are half the weight and give constant power and don’t drop off - it’s what Clive needed in 1985…!
You’re plowing through these! Brilliant work 👍

Mega - I use the same hicote satin black for LOADS of things inc my C5
More people moving to electric vehicles these days
I tested one of the original C5's back about 1982. It's range was just 4.4 miles. totally useless.
