We've got a word for people like this in England... A true sterling gent. He got me through some hard times, forever grateful for this human and his artform.

I love the dynamic of Ben and Cheryl. He is clearly passionate and exploring new and deeply meaningful ways to express himself musically and verbally and I appreciate that her style of interviewing gave him the room to be a little unrestrained, emotional and express a child-like wonder and curiosity throughout the conversation here. It was a joy to listen to the music and the conversation.
I've been working in show business for 40 years, I've seen a lot of bands and acts of all kind and Ben Harper is one of my favorite people in the business, such a nice and generous man. he left a lasting impression on me. Thanks Ben.

Hi Joe, you are so right! I just stumbled on this today and WOW how relevant. Maybe the song "Call It What It Is" is even more needed today than it was 4 years ago if I can even say that. Anytime a person is killed because of skin color this song is relevant. So glad artists are continuing to keep the conversation going and I truly hope that everything that is going on in our world today finally makes different. That is my prayer!

Moi je dis : Monsieur Ben Harper ! Un artiste puissamment inspiré que l'on entend pas assez malheureusement, et quelle voix !!! Lors de sa tournée en France il a chanté a capella dans une salle immense, et bien je peux vous dire que cet homme a une voix extraordinaire... Je suis impatient de découvrir ce nouvel album ! Si tu me lis Ben, tu as fait de moi un musicien épanoui et talentueux ;) continues à nous régaler les artistes subversifs/engagés sont rares en 2016...
Ben's such a great guy.
I remember seeing him at one of those first Bonnaroos where he was a performer and he knocked it out of the park, and then later when Neil Young played, you could see him on the side of the stage sitting on a big amp case just loving every minute of it, being a fan just like the rest of us. You can't help but love him.

As much as I love the Innocent Criminals, as rich and textured the sound this band produces... something much deeper and moving comes across from this solo acoustic performance of "Call It What It Is." So much more personal. Very fitting energy for the song.
He's such a good singer -- just hits nearly every note perfectly. Must be a joy to record.
