I admire these craftsmen. Their journey from youth to master of all the skills to produce a finished product, with loving care, patience, and devotion, is truly deserving of the highest praise.
Wahnsinn was diese Handwerker können.
Meinen absoluten Respekt ❤
Absolutely awesome arts and crafts. I have always been in awe with their refined talents and skills. In fact it's bc of their attention to the smallest detail that I have been working on my own set of skills for 40 years of my life. Now I can dedicate my entire days instead of bits and pieces. Thank you for videos such as this one ❤ I appreciate them very much and I love learning from them as well. 😊

Admiring Japanese craftsmanship is soul balm.
Beautiful work...❤
These people are highly skilled. I have never been in Japan, but I heard from some people that it is very busy and stressful and that people work hard. Perhaps it depends where you go. The people in this video were the opposite of stressful, even though they work hard. They exude such peace that I became calmer just watching them. Thank you for sharing this beauty.
Japanese choose the job they like over the money , that is the main reason they work very hard because they love what they doing . This 81 years old man still building KoTo instrument because he love his trade , his life is live to built Koto , the day he stop is the saddest day in his life . Look at the workshop only seniors Japanese workers around 70’s years old , none are retired and the way they work you can tell how much they love theirs jobs ❤❤❤❤
@@ductritran8637 Thank you, that sounds lovely.
Breathtaking Koto Craftsmanship!!!❤️🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful arts and craftsmanship. Bernard Leach spent his childhood in Japan and Hamada Shōji became partners in bringing these arts to Britain. Bernard Leach was friends with the family of potters who I worked under in the 70's, sharing the same art and styles.
Wonderful filming. Thank you.
Not just craftsmen, but artists, all of these gentlemen are. I could watch them all day, their skill is amazing.
Your skill are second to none, excellence at its best. Thank you!
Masters like these are National Treasures in Japan .
They definitely are.
Formidable ! Merci pour ce partage . Je vous regarde depuis la France
How beautiful.
Thank you ! ❤👏👏👏
I am 82, sit and am retired…watch TH-cam …kudos to you sir!
The gentleman isjust amazing, the techniques he used.
I am so impressed.
The work of these gentlemen is amazing!
Thank you so much for this beautifully produced video of master crafters. I found it extremely interesting and very educational and I shall continue to look forward to more such videos.
I lived (visited) in Japan for 2 years. Didn't learn enough. Much Respect. Would Love to Return as I believe my previous life was in Japan prior to being reincarnated!!!❤️🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful instrument and sound.
Hiya😊,It was the wonderful smile on the face of the gentleman who crafted the ladle that caused me to stop and watch your most instructive video! One can only be in awe of each of the master craftsmen showcased here. Not only their skills, dedication and attention to every aspect/ detail of their processes; it's like they are instilling a part of themselves into the object they are creating. Much admiration and appreciation, to them and all involved in producing this delightful film!May all keep safe, well and content, always. With sincere gratitude,J.I.M.K Mrs. Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ 😀 🪃 .
I enjoy watching the precision and traditional dedication to the crafts so prevalent in Japanese craft industries from glass making, woodwork, carving furniture making and the traditional pottery and music industries that are so Labour intensive yet, define the hard working and dedicated soul of Japanese craftsmen. I particularly love their ,pottery work and making of musical instruments. They cut no corners and the unseen portions of their crafts are met with the same artistry and fine detail of the prominent portions of their work. It is a condition of the Japanese soul to work with such precision and perfection. Japan is a nation where crafts of all kinds can be found that often define this often perfectionist viewpoint and patience that is too often lacking in the crafts of other nations.
For instance I recently viewed the repair of ancient pottery pieces on damaged or all but wrecked pottery that were for museums and personal family items. many of the art pieces had been repaired earlier, either by foreign or less dedicated craftsmen and had lost much of their fine detail and beauty. I was amazed at the two craftsmen who worked with such quiet dedication and finesse to not only restore these pieces to a state that was done with such patience and composure that they were returned to their ancient beauty. It was a delightful viewing of the lengths these craftsmen were willing to go in order to restore family heirlooms and museum pieces with such delightful skill and patience. I found myself enthralled by the skills that these craftsmen had at their fingertips and the hours of labour that it took to refine their artistry which they applied to all their work. Often the end results were fa tactic to behold.😊😮😊
@@williamwilson2270 thankyou for your uplifting comment.l have a set of belek(lrish ware,no longer made as the clay from those water meadows dried out nearly 100yrs ago) porcelain egg cups (actually goose egg cups) via my g-g-grandmamas gifting and kept the cracked ones whilst gifting the others to my son's.When the younger was in Japan earlier this year he found a gentleman who is to repair these for me as he was so happy to see the china(was renowned for its being so fine that you can see the light through it.); His only proviso being that l should" trust it's spirit to his care"!I believe their craft ethic comes from their love of what they do,so of course it shows! Be well, safe and content;&all with you,J.I.M.K Mrs. Brisbane, Australia. 🇦🇺 ❤ 😀 🪃
I love it!!!
Amazing and inspiring!
Taking extreme pride in their work.👍👍🙏🏼
Chared and finished sound cavities are amazingly BEAUTIFUL.
He look amazing for 81, if only Americans where the same at that age😂😅
Amazing! Such honorable craftsman who are driven by their passion. I bow.
Good craftsmanship, very detail..❤

My legs wouldn’t sit like yours, I’d get cramps.
Something peaceful with just watching a master at his job and letting his tools do the talking.
Watching these videos of such consummate Artisans gives one a more enlightened perception of their dedication to ancient craftsmanship. They are fascinating to watch!
It is so nice to see traditional craftsmen work.
You make me feel so insignificant. They/you spend your life making such great things…I haven’t done half so much. Kudos for your lives.
The waythe Master in yellow handles his kiridashi shows his experience.
Wow!😮 Magnificent! Such perfection through patience and mastery.
EXCELLENCE 😊...always
I attended ceramics classes in college, loved the work. Grateful, but don’t do at 82 yrs 9th.
Respect
Mass production and economy of scale has 'deskilled' many special professions. Bring back the Wicker bottom chair repairer.
I have nothing but respect for these people abd what they do ❤❤
Awe inspiring craftsmanship in all fields shown. But I can't get past the fact that someone would choose to have a bowl cut that bad. I've never seen one on a person alive in this day and age. Maybe he wears it in some weird kind of way to pay homage to the brushes?! Still, his degree of patience in his Art is nothing short of Godlike. But yeah, that bowl cut is ...Priceless.
DAS ist HANDwerk! Mein Respekt!
Absolutely loved this especially the Koto maker a fine Gentleman indeed .Angie in Scotland
And this is why a good koto is so expensive. But the sound is incredible. Thumbs way UP on this video!
Complimenti a quest'uomo.
Ladle maker also a true Gentleman ❤
That's (one of the many) what I love about Japanese people & their very richly textured culture - no matter what it is, you can be sure that they'll take their time & put everything into achieving brilliant products.
I spent a few weeks there during Sakura 2011 & if I could, I would retire there in a heartbeat.
Arigato gozaimasu & love to you know who in Saitama 🙏
Eccellente

Bravo 👏👏👏👏🥰
👏👏👏
Would be afraid to carry a Koto on an airplane due to the extreme dry air,
satisfying tradition, and no updates of bits and bites every day !
I'm a watercolor artist. I would love to own one of his brushes
I think that is calligraphy brush
Very interesting design, beautifully constructed. May I ask what woods are you using?
I love these Koto's. It must be awesome and relaxing to play such a Masterpiece of working Art........I would be interessted how much they'll cost?
chiếc đàn dương cầm thật đẹp
Fascinating, although the English subtitles are sometimes incomprehensible!
Damn impressive. No wonder the price is high
Very beautiful for artists. I need twelve piece but I can't buy brushes.
❤❤❤❤
Magnifique
I'd love to know what timber is used for the koto. These details are of great interest for other crafters.
How to learn to make good brushes?
Learn to shuffle cards well. Master it.
I used to hunt when I was younger. At first it was a tradition and then it became somewhat sporting, later it became food and kept my freezer filled year round. In fact, our family kept a deep freeze outside so if people in the community needed food but didn’t have the funds. It was a very useful idea. Now I don’t live in an area that is that easy for me to get to a safe place to hunt or I would probably spend at least a little time out each year. Thinking back on all the hair that was straight up useless to us. Heck, I may collect my hair the next time I cut it… it’s usually a good 4-6 inches. Maybe try to make myself a good pin-stripping brush or something. Maybe use my wife’s, hers is thinner.
A lot of the captions are on the screen for far too short a time and it really ruins otherwise great videos, please leave them on screen for a little more time and give us the chance to read them ,otherwise a great channel...
Fantastic !
So patient,
And such fine detail.
..
Is he chewing gum ?
Konichiwa 😐Is it cherry or oak wood? Beautiful work. Very satisfying to watch! Arigato !
❤
Geniale Handwerker.
Beschissene, miserable Übersetzung ins Deutsche!!!
guzheng isn’t Guqin .
