Say what you like . Justin can't do any wrong. He's the man . When I'm working I put him on my Bluetooth speaker don't have the time always to look at the lessons while I'm working but it is so relaxing and you can still learn a lot just by listening. it's very soothing and calming About his manner and the way he tells your story I would listen to him talking about anything but of course especially guitars then I'll look at lessons in the evening when I get home . like I say he's the man . beautiful rendition slower songs more feeling in his voice. Thank you thank you Justin
Hi Justin, great video thanks mate. In the late 1960s, I learned it from an original Animals single record (geek mode bass/song line+arpeggio) after a heck of listening time, on my first guitar journey.☮️❤️🎸
Well done. I thought it was great that you caught the open string. Hilton reportedly would take his hand off the chord to get to the next chord resulting in an open string. I learned this from a Brian May TH-cam video from 2021 in which he gave a tutorial on the song.
Nice geek mode, I always wondered about it. I think the story is he was still learning guitar and accidentally did it this way as he was changing to the next chord lifted his hand too soon. I use the root note of the chord to get into the position as it is always the first string you pick on the down stroke.
Only like 10 months in presently and this was one of the first ones I tried to learn. A little embarrassed to admit that I figured out part of the "geek mode" thing just by needing to give myself extra time to go from D to F while fingerpicking and going "you know what, this sounds OK" when I jumped the gun and left before hitting the last string
@@diamon999 nah, he used to sing his intros. He just feels this is a more effective teaching method. If you don’t know the lyrics…you probably shouldn’t be here
@@1954telecasterI know the lyrics but he used to do the chord singing in the tutorial. But maybe doing it in the intro makes it clear from the beginning which chords you need to know. Anyway, not a big deal. I love all Justinguitar lessons and have been following this channel for many years !
He’s a guitar teacher. If you want to hear the words there are plenty of videos of the song on here. This is for chords. Don’t be that guy. You sound ridiculous getting upset over this.
What a timing from Justin, this week I've been thinking I want to learn this song and he's uploaded video about it recently. Thank you!
Great song! I m so glad you made a lesson for this. A true classic!
Love this song!

I'd never noticed the "geek mode" difference until you pointed it out! Wow! Thank you Justin! You are AWESOME!

Love your lessons, subscribed to your channel, bought a bunch of your great music books, used your song app. All great !!
You're a legend Justin! Been following your channel since you started! Always high quality of all your lessons! Keep rockin' brotha!🗿🎸🎶🔥
Love this song and great tutorial. My family is related to Alan Price through marriage. He played at my uncles Funeral in Newcastle

love it..❤
The first song i learned, that chord change from D to F nearly ended my guitar adventure.
Brilliant Justin !
good guitar🎸😊🙏
Loved how they used this song in Perfect Days movie. Highly recommend

I'm not sure about this remake of the song but it sure is informative! ;)
It was my first foray into finger style too.
It's got a very pirate vibe to it. Classic 60s song
Could you do a cover of Driver 8 by REM? You’d do a good version!
Alright, is this a sign I should finally start diving into finger style?
what is the name of the app?
Very thorough lesson! Love this song, have been playing it on guitar for years; looking forward to trying a few of these variations. Thanks, Man!
learned this from your tutorial 15 years ago and will do it again today
thanks Justin!
Cool lesson but honestly I prefer that you sing the real lyrics in the intro. But again big thumbs up !
Everyone knows the lyrics. He’s a guitar teacher not a wedding singer
copyright problems, perhaps???

That's the first song that I ever learned to play.
First song every one learns
I had my mind blown when I was told that I can match the lyrics to Amazing Grace to the same song.
So 14 bars for the verse and then 8 bars for the instrumental part. That seems odd.
