so what kind of mod makes this possible?
Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker

Enables THQ Nordic's debug menu which allows you to select any multiplayer character in single-player aside from a few other cool things.
Once you've injected Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker you can press "O" and "L" to get through different commands and press "P" to activate them. There's one that lets you switch the character you're playing as.

If at any point people start modifying the multiplayer character enough that they work really well in the singleplayer, modders should look into Lights, Camera, Pants for voice clips.

I feel Squidward would’ve fit quite well as a playable character in the game. The Robo-Patrick boss could’ve been the point where you start playing as him, as Robo-Patrick could’ve freezed Spongebob, Sandy and Patrick, leaving Squidward to fight him, using his clarinet to hit his back from afar due to all the acid making it impossible to go near him.
That would’ve been something back on the day :v

I don't get why squidward couldn't just be a playable character in the first place.
Exactly, he could've been an unlockable character after you've completed the game. Same goes for Mr. Krabs, Gary, and & Plankton.
They should of added a free play mode that would have been fun so you can play as all spongebob characters

The reason why you couldn't actually defeat the final boss is because in this game you have to destroy all the fuses instead of just the three in the brain. You skipped the one you have to use the bubble bash for because you couldn't hit it, so the boss was technically never finished. If you watch Any% speedruns of this game you can see that the players skip later into the fight, but still use the cruise bubble to hit the fuses they skipped so the game actually finishes.
Also, does Squidward normally have the cruise bubble when playing as him in story mode or did you use a code to give him that? Because I don't recall him having it when I played as him in the story mode.
Thanks for the explanation. I used no codes for the Cruise Bubble, Squidward has it by default in singleplayer for whatever reason, unlike the other multiplayer characters.
No problem, always happy to help. And strange, I was just on the game and Squidward still couldn't do it, maybe you played the game a different way than I did which somehow let him have the cruise bubble. I'll try to look into it.

I agree, and I’ll add to it. When you skipped one of the fuses, there was no output to initiate the scene sequence. You have to first hit that one fuse. >.

Interesting thing about robospongebob once you are inside, the game checks if ALL FUSES are destroyed. unlike in the first game where it checks the 3
brain fuses
i find it somewhat disapointing that this isnt actually a thing normally, but im honestly glad it works so well, cuz people can mod this easily with it as a baseline *i say easily as the stuff is there to make it possible, not it actually being easy*
I would love to see an entire playthrough with the multiplayer characters.

Okay, I'm unsure why did that happen. Unless there's like a thing where you opened a weak spot, but the boss gets back up as it doesn't notice that the weak spot was open.

If Squidward can do all this, why did he need Spongebob and Sandy to defeat the robot Patrick? Seems like he'd be more effective at beating him than them combined.
In other words...
King Jellyfish: Not only is it possible, it’s not even hard
Robo Sandy: First phase is possible, but the others aren’t
Prawn: _b u b b l e b o w l r e q u i r e d_
Robo Patrick: Definitely possible, even made easier because of Squidward’s attack being a projectile “Thanks for saving me guys!”
Flying Dutchman: You are supposed to be using Sandy’s lasso, so not possible by default. Wonder why Patrick has no miniboss?
Spongebot Steelpants: This is possible, but only with hacks (As if this isn’t already hacked)
Spongebot’s CPU: Theorectically possible, but it softlocks

I feel like if you wanted an accurate play through as squidward, you should have limited him a bit more by not allowing him to use any abilities he doesn’t have in multiplayer.
There should be a free play mode where you can visit all levels with the characters avaiable in Multiplayer

I’ve always wanted squidward to be a playable character in the story mode of this game. They could’ve added a couple new areas to the game plus another boss fight where you actually fight Robo squidward (not what we got in the multiplayer) like actually fight him and stuff. Plus since there’s 3 levels within each hub area, there could’ve been one where you play as SpongeBob and Patrick, another where it’s SpongeBob and sandy, and another with SpongeBob and squidward.

If they make a proper BFBB2, Squidward should be the 4th character, I know Krabs was planned for Happiness Squared, but Squidward could fit that slippery Luigi archetype.
