Clever, everyone else usually uses some complicated method involving hand etching the stamp with files and drill bits.Thx!

I have had to spot soften, spot anneal and spot harden different gun parts through the years at times and on my tools like your touch mark you can temper it by putting the stitriking end in the fire and let the color run up it and then when it comes time to stop the temper, simply rest the tip in a bucket of water to keep it cool while the striking end cools itself more slowly. My .02, nice video and really like your design, I wish I could come up with one as cool and simple to make as that for our shop.

Basically yep but I dunk the whole thing. I just keep an eye on the sticking end of the punch to make sure it doesn't get to hot. It's work so far lol.

Dan you made that look far to easy. I had mine made but would also like to make one myself some day. I like the simplicity of your mark. Hopefully I can come up with something simple and give it a try soon.

I like that your mark is easy to make. Im in a spot with mine. A Fedora is not as easy to replicate. Its my favorite hat and i have one i wear whenever i work in my shop. Thus my shop is called Fedora Ironworks. Well if i was a pro and sold anything it would be. Although to be honest your mark and it's meaning gives me thought on the subject.

Glen from GS tongs has an amazing engraver and makes touch marks for customers out of H13 for a fair price. Look him up if you want something special made for you. He’s a great guy and an excellent tool maker as well.

Make it yourself! Not rocket science, and if you work with metal you really have no excuse. Apart from idleness.
I wouldn't pay someone to make tools I am capable of making myself.

Funny, I enjoy the hammer bumps. Shows how good the rebound is on that anvil, also the rhythm timing and balance of the smith. Envious as my anvil and technique are no where near as good.
