Wait a fucking minute. Is the movie open season actually old enough to be a game on a gameboy advance??? I guess I remember like Kim possible games. I literally have no idea when open season came out anymore lmao
Yoda stories is an interesting one because isn’t it randomly generated? I know that’s how it was on the PC. That’d be interesting to see on the gameboy. I don’t remember a lot of randomly generated games on the gameboy.
There are actually several Bionicle games on GBA. The one I had was basically like a prequel to the main story which explains how the Toa ended up on Mata Nui
BIONICLE: The Game for GBA is pretty trash, to be honest. I remember playing it quite a bit and I only ever had the patience to beat it once. The perspective is easily one the worst aspects. You have to judge your platforming by your shadow. Although, the soundtrack did have one or two bops.
It's a shame Bionicle didn't really have any good games. Bionicle Heroes was the only one I'd say is good, but even that one has problems, like being _way_ too easy.
I had a Bionicle game on GameCube, Just called Bionicle, when I was much younger. I remember nothing about it other than the fact I only played it once and then never wanted to again.
Smashing Drive doesn’t belong in a Trash video It’s genuinely one of the most impressive games on the GBA and it’s by far the best use of the Blue Roses engine
Can someone double check in that first star wars game? Is that how the theme actually goes? It sounds like the melody is in a major key, but the bassline is either shifted a chromatic step down, or it's in a different key entirely. Whatever it is, it's definity not diatonic, jeez.
I actually had that Cars game growing up. Playing it on actual hardware, the frame rate chugs super every time you turn a corner, and the majority of the game has no music to speak of, so you’ll just be listening to the roar of the engines for the whole race. And yet I beat it multiple times 100%. I didn’t have many games as a kid.
They are both garbage, but what we saw of the gameboy one felt more like a game, even if it was an absolute shite one. The PC one had no music, the sprites looked so bootleg, and it felt like there was literally nothing to it. There was much more going on in the windows Pinball game. That footage of GBC version at least didn't give me that hollow empty feeling the PC one gives me anytime I see it.
12:19 When Vinny collected something like veggie on the floor, he got fourth heart... when had only one... so it's first and fourth hearts, and other two in the middle are missing... quality, man...
I’ve never seen Star Wars and I didn’t even know Maclunky was from that until recently, but it still always makes me laugh when Vinny says it. Love when the Italian Man Say Funny Word
Holy shit I remember playing that Addams Family game. I was little at the time and it was on this weird game cartridge my brother and I found in the new house we just moved into. Cartridge had multiple other gameboy games on it as well that were switched with the press of a button. While playing the Addams Family, I never had any idea what the hell I was supposed to do. I always ran out of knives, then lives pretty early on though. Funny to see this memory pop up again thanks to Vinny
@@mikotoh I got trapped in France airport for a couple days cause of covid. I set up my phone to watch Vinny while I slept in my makeshift bed of chairs. Oh man, GBC and GBA games sure refused to accept their limitations, huh? I always like it when they actually manage to make that defiance -work- for the game. I wish it worked more often than it ended up doing.
I think I understood the lyrics to the "Early Bird" song in Smashing Drive better then I did with the console version of the game. I think it might be because the instruments aren't as loud as they are in the console version.
Holy shit I played the hell out of Yoda Stories as a kid and literally could never figure out how to make ANY progress. This awakened some anxiety memories in me.
I'd love to see another GBC or GBA segment, cuz it's such a great aesthetic to look back on. That and it's interesting to see how uniquely bad things were back then.
oh man vinny should really play smashing drive for a stream. It takes place in new york and has a pretty awesome recreation of it. Especially the parts where you race at night from the carrier into a basketball game at MSG
Fraiser the Game? I totally would've bought it. At the very least, there was a Dr. Crane in the Batman game. Maybe Frasier (or his brother) could've made a cameo.

Smashing drive is an incredibly impressive port. Those levels are completely unchanged as far as can remember. This game had a great GameCube port too. Very fun arcade racer

26:31 for how lackluster this game looks, it is kind of cool how Batman gets lit up by the neon sign next to him, especially for a GBA game
