- For our latest cabin comparison, TPG UK flew on Icelandair's Boeing 737 MAX 8 from London Heathrow to Keflavik Airport, Iceland. Nicky tried out Saga business class, while Liam headed to the back of the plane and compared the experience to Icelandair’s economy class.

Really nice video once again! :) But I just wanted to comment on the 3$ charge for the economy earphones - I think it makes people more responsible and prevent unnecessary waste. Like you said, not all passengers require them so it is best to not have them handed out to everyone by default, like most airlines do.
Air Europa charges €3 for headphones on a 12h flight. Tickets for those flights are over $800 usd so they should be giving those crappy headphones for free
Sure for free but not by default
That's why I really like what Singapore Airlines does, have them out the front for you to grab if you want them!

I flew with Icelandair last month and I've got to say that even on the 757 and 767 they're a great airline that I will most definitely be flying with again

I’ve only flown them to and from Seattle to Reykjavik. I upgraded to Saga on my way. The food I had was fine. I think I had salmon. My problem with them, the rtn to the US. There was a storm we weren’t aware of. They didn’t notify us that all flights to N America were cancelled. We found out from the few who were on the bus to the airport, who were not going our way, but still they got an alert. That bus ride was $50-$60 by the way. If we knew, we could have stayed at our hotel in Reykjavik. Once we got to the airport, we were only told the flights were cancelled, and we should come back the next day and maybe there would be flights. I watched other airlines, like WOW give out hotel and food vouchers. They arranged transportation for their passengers. We had to figure it our ourselves in the middle of a horrible storm. So, unless they’ve improved their process, I’ll pass on Icelandair.
This is a valid comparison between Business and Economy on the same plane. Unlike some US domestic flights, there's a clear difference between the two classes on IcelandAir. Good video!

Icelandair is exceptional for travel in Europe to Iceland. I wish the other airlines could offer business class like Icelandair do for travel around Europe.
The problem is that for the trans-atlantic segment this is more like a premium economy. Premium for the fare of business class.

Nice to have you back and another great video. You should never have to pay for food, headphones etc on a national carrier! Low cost carries you expect too but not these!
every national carrier does this unless its an international flight (10hours +)then food is included...budget cuts
I can tell I fly on budget airlines when you’re disappointed that you don’t have free headphones and I’m just happy to have a seat 😂
On long haul flights it’s very normal. On short domestic flights, especially in Europe, I’m not surprised when there are no headphones or TVs. I don’t necessarily think it’s about travelling on a budget as many airlines provide much more than iceland air even at close/not too far off price points. Iceland air in my opinion are below standard for long haul flights. I think they’re more appropriate for domestic flights.

Wow, what a great video showing the terminal at Heathrow International airport and then on to the plane. Two different perspectives one from business class and the other from economy. Overall the feeling from both of you guys is that the airline and it's staff were friendly and on point. Hey, you guys are lucky it seems that the flight is shorter then from my country de USA which is 4 hours and 45 minutes from Newark/New York to Reykjavik. You guys did not show the bathrooms on board the plane. The gent that was flying business class did not show the amenities kit if there was one given also the welcoming by the pilo and purser to all during the flight. Thanks again for the video showing both sides of the coin.

Icelandair has become a longhaul low-cost style airline (i.e. premium economy; plus buy-on-board economy) reflecting KEF as a hub. As a Premium Economy Saga Class is competitive. In economy, unfortunately the bad buy-on-board offer and general service lags Scoot or Jetstar longhaul, and even Ryanair or Wizz. My main issue is that Icelandair's prices are actually quite expensive, for what is essentially low-co with a PTV.
That was disappointing, that Liam didn't get a Bloody Mary. A G&T, as good as it was, is no substitute.
And I really enjoyed Nicky's tip on eating cake, just shovel it in. Surprised he didn't do that with his dessert on the flight.
Now I must go and find some cake to shovel.

i flew boston to Reykjavik in 2000 (im getting old), we were given... in economy free alcohol and a free hot (basic) meal. same for Reykjavik to amsterdam.

The business meal looked really nice. I don't like airlines which don't even offer a sandwich and a coke for free in economy. That's not a nice touch. The rest seems to be nice on board.
Iceland is actually quite underrated and cool.
I have flown Saga class twice, and neither time have I been able to fault it.
You should try another brand of lamb stew while you're in Iceland! I love making and eating lamb stew and it's sad that was your first experience with it

I’m looking at a flight from Denver to Reykjavik and they want 630 added to upgrade and the seats don’t even fully recline into beds and the food looks nasty. Doesn’t seem worth the added charge

Oh Lord! This December will be my first time taking Icelandair from New York City to Paris France, and of course, I was stupid enough to book the cheapest flight in economy.
What sucks is my flight is non-refundable and cannot be upgraded .

I flew this airline in BUSINESS CLASS out of Denver to Iceland and it was AWFUL!!! Food was awful, the service was awful, reminded me of a old Soviat era airline, would never fly them again!! I did enjoy your vedio great job!!

Airport lounges always seem a bit hit and miss , some have a decent buffet, others are a very stingy bar with a few peanuts. Does icelandair still do the mini burgers? Last took a flight in 2018 and they had a 3 mini hamburger selection which was yummy. Who wants a full meal on a 3 hour flight anyway - lots of restaurants at the destination, with full size burgers

English Warriors flying in a 737 MAX/8, fantastic and honest review lads. Can understand the USB being below the IFE screen in economy as your tray is 6 inches below.
But in Business Class, you need a 3 feet cable to charge your device., what`s the point of that?
There is also a charging point below your seat. In Economy too actually, although I can understand them not seeing it as it's quite awkwardly located.
