Yes, I checked. You are correct. But I thought that because the press was referring to him as a gelding and they assumed it because he was racing at age 10. His fan base is getting larger ever day. This horse is brilliant!
I love this the 10 year old. I have watched a lot of race Lit de Justice was another horse I love and Trevor Denmans favorites too. I wish there was a 5 million purse for 10 year olds.
No recuerdo nada igual.
Nice ride Aaron!!!! This guy is one hell of a rider.. He found the sweet spot on the track and when he asked him to go he took off. This jock is the most unrated jock out there. See you in edmonton tomorrow
Interesting that he isn't a gelding and still racing at age ten. I'd love to see him stand somewhere in America when he retires. He really is a throwback.
I had heard he closed but didn't realize he CLOSED. Holy cow...that was some run! I agree that he could help the gene pool for soundness.... someone take him and make him a stallion.
Incredible run. I'm not sure what the story is with this horse, but I'm assuming he isn't fertile (profile says "horse," and still racing at the age of ten). It's a real shame, because a horse like this could really breed some stamina back into American lines. In any case, he's an impressive old iron horse.
Like watching nearly every Zenyatta race. Zenyatta did this on at least half of her 20 races. Only time she couldn't do it was Classic at C.D..too far back against top talent. This was impressive though..no one gave him a shot to win that race with a minute left. That was like a basketball team coming back and winning at the buzzer..after being down 30 points at halftime.
This boy reminds me of Zenyatta. Again, let these poor thoroughbreds mature before you put all that stress on their young, undeveloped legs... Ten is still young for a horse. I bet he doesn't suffer from shin splints, etc.
Reminds of Zenyatta, the horse that would always start last and then come back to win it on the final turn. She won like 19 races in a row by doing that.
Yeah, but the best of all time was Silky Sullivan who came from 41 lengths back in 1958 at Santa Anita, and 30 lengths back other times. He's on youtube and worth a look
Los fan de las carreras sufren el sueño de los injustos, ver esa obra maestra de la naturaleza nos pone en deuda con la vida, ke caballo, esta a mas de cincuenta metros retrazado y logra lo imposile, que guevos del jinete, amen smc
Exceller ran this exact same strategy in the 1978 JCGC. The stretch duel was a little different - he was, after all, up against Seattle Slew - but the result was the same. watch?v=zZFr6N2lNY4

moments like this are the reasons I love horse racing
Love this horse!! Did the exact same thing in the Breeder's Cup Marathon - hope he gets a nice retirement home

I am pretty sure he is a gelding. And he is indeed awesome. !!! Love that incredible horse, classy every step of the way.
Nope, he is standing stud at Haras La Quebrada, Argentina next to his sire, Luhuk :)
OMFG! Calidoscopio (ARG) was one of the greats.
i cannot believe that horse had such energy at the end, and being 10 years old at that. great race, admit i got a few chills watching the comeback.

Tom Durkin . Calidoscpio 'Stretching those 10 year old legs'.! Another great race call
Absolutly AMAZING.. reminds me of Seabiscuit ....the movie...
Did he just say that Ruler on Ice was strugging? hahahaha Calidoscopio is incredible

Secretariat was an outstanding broodmare sire. His blood lives on.

As Calidoscopio is passing the other horses, he's saying, "you guys tired? WATCH THIS, LOSERS!"......
Amazing!!
What a ride AT!!!

He did pretty much the same thing in the 2012 Breeders Cup Marathon.
DAMN what a race i just found a new name for my next dog wow
I wish I were this gem of a horse!!!

He'd close the gap on flightline to 85 lengths at the end.
10 years ago today.
Una pregunta, ¿ lo pasaron a nafta?.
Si yo creeo jjaajaj
If you run your last quarter in 25 or so and the leaders run in 27 and change, you make up 10+ lengths on them...by just plodding along past them.
I love this. I hope he didnt become cheeseburgers
+emurchu He retired after this race and is currently at stud in Argentina. One of his first babies is named Gryder, after his jockey, Aaron Gryder.
+Patricia Merry yaaaaaaay thank you!
Run grandpa, run! XD Awesome!

It's like a horse in a Disney's movie...
This is what you call a Silky Sullivan, folks!
He was retired yesterday to stud---good luck boy!
All I can say, is OMG!
Whoah.
Y’all think its a comeback.. nah. That was planned. Let em all run and get tired. Then in the final lap, give it everything.
Exceller ran this exact same strategy in the 1978 JCGC. The stretch duel was a little different - he was, after all, up against Seattle Slew - but the result was the same.

I think the jockey reminded him about the glue factory....
