It's about time we got some positive goblin representation in Gloryhammer. The frequent goblin slander was getting pretty problematic, and it's made it difficult to get my goblin friends into the band. They should like this one though, especially with the thoughtful translation. I hope it's indicative of a new, more inclusive direction for the band.

The detail of Ralathor disappearing after receiving the secret of the dwarven tunnels (which is now his to betray)
i've read that there was some loophole, something akin to "at no point in the future are you allowed to tell anyone of this" so he instead travelled back to tell something in the past.
@@vinx.9099 It could only be revealed if he took its knowledge to the grave. Which he did, as he went back into the past to reveal it, and one of the versions of him in that time died. I don't remember if it was the one that went back... or the one that was already there.
I love the detail that Ralathor is missing after the fight because he went back through time.
Which he can just... Do apparently. ...are we sure he isn't an exiled Star Lord? (No. No we are not.)
I wonder if his time travel will be the plot of the next album.
@@Cavalorn12His time travel was towards the end of the first Album, more exactly when he appears to reveal to Angus and Hoots the secret tunnels to the citadel of Zargothrax.
He probably knew what was to come and returned to his Prime timeline as he was no longer needed for this timeline. But that's just my wild guess.
I'm more concerned with Ser Proletius looking very warlocky for an epic paladin

Back in time, different dimension... Either or really. I kinda love that the only three things we know for sure about Ralathor in four volumes is he has a flying nuclear submarine he is captain of, wizard, and he seems to be the same iteration in all four volumes except 'maybe' this one.
Basically he's powerful, though we don't know how much, he's old, and he has an aversion to taking on Zargothrax directly.
Why?

Kinda makes me wonder if there was once some kind of race of honourable Goblin knights that followed the ancient code of Goblins mentioned in the song, and if so what could have happened to them and what lead to the goblin’s being like they are now?

judging by the "Toxic Laser Slime" invading the caverns, it could be possibile that the goblin tribes ("lost for centuries") somehow regretted to a mostly barbaric state (no sign of reconquering the city of Dundee above them), seeing the old traditions as a vestige of a past no more needed.
Also; "The path can be revealead only if you take knowledge to the grave" could mean that the "Goblin Sword Lord" is title passed by defeated to defeater, thus reducing the number of available goblin knights around.
In the video the Goblin does not appear malnourished nor undead at first glance, meaning he has food available. this implies still some form of society... or no need of sustenance at all. As the "Holy Hammer" strikes the Goblin with ease, it MIGHT be that the goblin is, in fact, an undead; a crime so terrible for an order that takes knowledge to the grave, that probably led to a revolt, and a collapse of the society.
All that remains is a lone guardian, waiting for the sword to be reignited.
Goblins are good, Gloryhammer lyrics are Dundonian imperialist propaganda.
Apparently the line mentioned in this song was the entirety of the ancient code of goblins, according to a Reddit comment from Chris.
I wonder if it has to do with how in the second album there was a dropped plotline where Angus was descended from goblins. Maybe the ancient goblins were very different and were corrupted by Evil?

he is, indeed. The lost remains of an once honourable society. It seems to be all that is left, looks like to be an undead as well. It was so important, that his duties kept going in death.
He didn't seem like a villain, he was just judging Angus as worthy.
Of course.... He is the Sword Lord, after all, can't be an easy position to reach, in Goblin society.
I like to think that the goblins used to be honorable long ago but fell into a dishonorable society, and the sword lord is the last of that ancient society that still held value.
I always imagined the Sword Lord as just a large fat goblin with a sword but this one looks sick as fuck

This is the first time I had heard this particular Gloryhammer track and it was bugging the shit out of me where I had heard the chorus melody before. I knew it was either Iron Maiden or Sabaton but I couldn't pin it.

Horsi-Zap is probably not true Black Speech tbh.
@@ajbolt7 Tolkien only offered the ring inscription, one additional sentence, and two or three other random words as canon examples of the language, so any fully-featured version of Black Speech is basically fanfiction. This looks to me like a bit of a mish-mash of popular orc/goblin conlangs. Definitely some words yoinked from Tolkien (nazgul, goth, lug, the -um suffix, and uruk) and a couple from those fan extrapolations (groth, glok), but the translations don't match how they're used in the source material, so it looks like the subtitle writer did their own thing there. I also see a bunch of stuff that looks pretty Warcraft-y, a few delightful inventions (laser horses = horzi-zap, lol) and of course WAAAAAGH!
