- This guy is DANGEROUS. You can see how hard he hits and he can cancel out of your combos which is why I wasn't going for the long juggles. Super cool rival fight though! A bit chatty but I'm not gonna complain. Eventually I'd like to no damage these bosses but don't feel like grinding on my first playthrough right now

i'm so glad of how they stayed true to the original manga/anime cause that's how exactly how he fights and also just look at his blocking stance, the dude is like "Come at me Bro!!!" lol :D
HE JUST STANDS THERE AND TAKES THOSE POKES OF DEATH LIKE A TRUE MAN! I swear every boss in this game looks like a final boss encounter and I love it.
STRENGTH!! BROTHAH!! Oh I know about Souther and his whole heart misplacement birth defect. I think its just absolutely awesome how so many of the bosses in the game have the final boss feel. There is not a single boss that looks like cannon fodder here.
The BGM gives me some Theory of Beauty vibes.
Funny how in the third phase, Souther is a lot more vulnerable and easier to hit properly. Like Kenshiro now knows exactly where to hit him.

The Watcher of MUGEN That's exactly how it happens in the manga. After Kenshiro takes a few good hits from Souther, he's able to locate and strike his pressure points. Thus, revealing the secret of Souther's. This game pays so much love and respect to the source material! I can't wait for it to arrive internationally!

short version for why this fight is longer then a normal fight for kenshiro; Souther has dextrocardia situs inversus totalis. his vital points are reversed. Kenshiro realizes this around 4:04, notice how fast souther's health starts dropping.

Well, Souther is one of only three people in the entire series to hand Kenshiro a legitimate defeat. It's great that they made him live up to his legacy here.

Most epic fight in the game imo. Although i have to say that i'm somewhat dissappointed how they incorporated the manga characters in this game (the fight with the giant at the colloseum, cassandra prison boss fight, this fight how ken figured out souther's weak point in just one fight, rei's fight). It feels that they just wanted to put in fights with these characters in the game whereas there's so much better ways they could've done incorporating them with the game's original storyline.

Also I noticed that the screen is fading out in a shape of an Iris (outer eye shape). Is that the effect of Kenshiro being poisoned? Is Kenshiro trying to get a feel or beat of his heart? Or is it just effects?
ReaverFlux Rebirth souther has a birth deffect were his pressure points are reveresed so most likely trying to get a feel on where his heart is.
It's both... Kenshiro's life is ebbing from him. However at the same time he is starting to feel Souther's pulse and slowly realizing his secret.
