Thanks, this was helpful. Mom is 81, deaf, and now has MD. She’s very frustrated with her vision issues and she wants a Mac laptop. You’ve given me a good place to start.

@darleneprickett5988, thanks for watching and finding this video on the best computer for low-vision.
Accessibility settings such as spoken content make the iMac and MacBook my computers of choice. I hope you find something that works for your mom.
Stay safe, make it great day.

Thanks for the video. I use dual monitors: a 32" repurposed TV monitor and a 43" LG computer monitor. I can't imagine life without my 43" monitor

Thanks for sharing these tips! I find that the 34” curved monitors improve endurance for work.

I use a MacBook Pro and use an app named Vivid which doubles the brightness of the display. Really helps me! 🙂

Thank you for all your recommendations! My mum is 82 with macular degeneration. She has used a Windows computer so it would be hard at that age to switch to Apple. Her desktop computer is now old so I’m trying to find a Windows desktop computer that will help her. Would you have a list of the specs to look for to buy such computer?
    Thanks 🙏🏻

@racheliselin750, sorry to hear about your eye loss. There are many high and low tech devices that might help you overcome low vision challenges.
Hand held magnifiers are a good place to start. These types of low-vision devices are generally a low cost option.
Be well, make it a great day and let me know how I might help.
Thanks for watching the Legally Blind Geek.

I think a larger display is helpful for someone who is legally blind like myself. I do better with a larger display.
