Brilliant. We had parties in the early '80's here in New Zealand, Devo was always on the record player. I still have my Devo LP's.Timeless music . That's good .
The people complaining about people recording on their cell phones, I agree with you. But this video is ripped from the official DVD release "Devo in the land of the rising sun" It's an awesome DVD, very guitar heavy.
This is quite a more athletic opening than the show I saw them do on the "Total Devo" tour over a decade before this, which opened with them sitting on stools. I admire the tenacity.
Love the synth bands of the 80's.....De Peche Mode...Human League....New Order.....Smiths. Check out Big Audio Dynamite.....E=MC2 // Infectious groove fer sure~ and while you're at it, "The Beloved" tune Hello........PS...Bronski Beat also rules~~
i think you are wrong because sometime you take pictures of the event and record some songs and you still enjoy the concert, in my case i record a few songs and take photografs and still enjoy it i do that to always remember that day
They induct a band of destruction called Rage Against the Machine who have DONE NOTHING original in the world of Music.ZERO but keave talent bands like DEVO who stated what most bands do now which is interactive video in concert while the band is playing amongst other major contributions as well as bands like Kansas, ELP,etc . If cant cant acknowledge them at least thank them for starting what the bands copy now
Devoカッコいいなあ。こんなライブが、ホントに日本で行われてたなんて信じられないなあ。
周りにDevoファン一人もいねえ……
Today in almost 2020, they're just as relevant as ever. Maybe more so.
DEVOlution IS real!
They were right, devolution is real, and it fucking sucks. If only more people around me would understand my potato.

It's great to see the young kids in the audience!

The coolest band EVER!!!!
My very first Devo show at Summer Sonic 2003. Did not get to see them again until Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival 2010.
DEVO-ART! Sweet potatoes!! Great intro!!
Easily one of the great alternative punk bands of all time.
My friend recommended this to me on to watch on netflix. It was a hell of a show.

R.I.P. Bob Casale
It isn't the same without Bob 2.

Jim Clark that's David Kendrick, drummer for DEVO from 1988 to 1991 and then touring drummer from 2003-2004 until josh freese returned

I love the audience! The sound in the video was bad, I hope it was better live.
I know a sound that all men love

That's nice. The whole crowd seem to have missed the irony of the intro message.
I'd be interested in seeing how much subtext you'd pick up if you were attending a Japanese rock show.
@@noneofyourbusiness4616 Indeed. Having worked for NYK Line
, this is true.
Because clearly no fan has ever recorded a live show before 2006.
ALAN MYERS FOR DEVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was that Alan? Awesome. The new guy is good, but Alan belongs there.
Devo on Geritol? This is too cool!
They are still going at in 2015. The band has lost Alan, drummer in the 1980's and Bob 2. Bob Casale.
Alan Meyers died of stomach cancer in 2013 and Bob 2 in 2014.
+Eric brett Bob 2 was heart failure.
ITS A FUCKING TRIP FOR THE MIND
The advertisements say 'Where is area 51'
Right here, baby!

Wow. Interesting. uhhhh Very original band.

Are we not men?
We are DEVO!
We must repeat
Ok let's go...
2 members no longer alive...I really liked Meyers, the drummer.
Heh, POLY wristband @ 2:03
Confirmed. Japanese fans have better taste in music than Americans lol.
Shoes, a Church, and a Vacuum cleaner??!
Don't forget the sex toy

Sounds religious somehow, "In the beginning was the truth about De-Evolution". Devo is not a new tradition. Anyway, become an eternal classic.
