Good Review Thank you. I've just bought one (1.8i June 2020 model in April 2021 I waited several months and watched and noted the price (s) at dealers and how long the car sat without being sold and managed to get £14,500.00!! off new price with pre reg on an M sport1.8i with 3,000 miles. I think this rebate is under dealer/ Uk Gov VAT Margin Scheme(?) I'm not entirely sure how this works!) Petrol consumption is about 1/3rd less compared to my previous diesel car a Dec 2013 manual 32OD Estate Efficient Dynamics but I knew that (!!) As I don't do a lot of mileage 6,000 PA I thought I would try and move away from the apparent polluting diesel to the slightly cleaner I'm told apparently slightly more environmentally friendly petrol. As the car list price was originally just over £40,000 I'm still not sure about paying nearly £500 PA in the UK mainland for car tax when my other car was only £30.00 p.a! Anyway its too late now its sat on my driveway! Overall a very nice car the engine at 1.8i is slightly on the slower side as you mentioned but I think it works well with the 6 speed auto gearbox. (The 8 speed auto box come with with the larger engines.) I would not have bought a manual gearbox with this 1.8I. There is a- unusual (?)- BMW coasting feature if the Efficient Dynamics mode is selected which gives a few extra MPG this is a bit surreal to use in my opinion, with the computer screen often telling you to take your foot of the gas! (-such as downhill- when the car can often feel as it wants to go faster under its own momentum (?) I will probably get used to it but then seems to rely on using the brakes for engine braking to kick in again I'm not sure about this. The tyres are quite large 18 inch with a provided inflator system -not run flats- and the ride in my opinion is slightly firmer. So road ruts are best avoided! Call me old fashioned but if asked If I will use the parking assistant for side parking in a kerbside parking bay? I don't know! Overall a great video review on a under reviewed 1.8i version, Thank you.
I really appreciate you sharing your personal experience with buying this car and Im sure many more viewers considering buying the car will read your comment for more information . I hope you enjoy your new car and best of luck with it and Happy Motoring .Thank you for watching :)

Awesome
Ive never owned a BMW
Does this model have LED front lights as standard?
No not as standard that will be extra cost
I did know the x1 was that good
The x2 is nicer
Its has the same exact spec as the x1. Plus the x1 has more room. And costs less than the x2.
Cool car
