    Some great editing in this one. If I sail my mirror dinghy out to snap a photo of me and the artwork, do I get two T-shirts? And another if I make it back to the mainland alive? 😂

      Mate, we'll send you a hat and a bag as well, but only if you make it back. Should be do-able I reckon

    Seriously though. There should be no worries regarding the understanding of language. If mistakes aren't being made not enough effort is being put in. My Turkish used to get corrected every five minutes. Now it's only twice a night. My friends are generous and time tells all. Awesome vid. It's nice to see Aus. Good luck with the summer heat.

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it takes a while with the languages, specially all the slang. We are sailing south the whole summer so it shouldn't get too hot. Way colder than Indo where we've been the past 4 years.

    Hey Vern love your videos, great sailing and interesting adventures. P S noticed you didnt have any split pins on your bottle screws. Its my OCD kicking in 😁⛵

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ah, but they have locking nuts at either end, much better than split pins I think. Thanks for watching.

    Vernon when you say you are "not artistic" I beg to differ in that you are a professional photographer which qualifies as "fine art" under Western educational systems.

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yeah I guess. I can’t draw more than a stick figure though and have a misguided idea that “artists” are painters. I have an artistic mind, just can’t get my hands to interpret it as I’d like. Hence the camera

      @@SailingLearningByDoing You're a wizard with a drone mounted camera. You might like this poem. "Art" by
      Herman Melville - 1819-1891
      In placid hours well-pleased we dream
      Of many a brave unbodied scheme.
      But form to lend, pulsed life create,
      What unlike things must meet and mate:
      A flame to melt- a wind to freeze;
      Sad patience- joyous energies;
      Humility- yet pride and scorn;
      Instinct and study; love and hate;
      Audacity- reverence. These must mate,
      And fuse with Jacob's mystic heart,
      To wrestle with the angel- Art.

    Maybe you can camp on the beach in a tent if you have a very dolly anchorage? Did you ever consider a mic in the water when near dolphins, whales and orcas? You could play it through your sound system and add it to underwater footage? André in Sydney

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've thought about camping a few times for sure. We have captured underwater sounds often, specially the whales singing. Love it.

    think you could talk a bit about your mainsheet/ preventer setup in a future vid? I've seen the one where you did the mod in the first place, didn't throw in a whole lot of detail though

      Hi Clint. A few people have mentioned this recently so I might have to film it a bit more. Stay tuned.

    Percy Island takes me back 40 or 50 years: Ive just started a channel on You Tube: ue&co One of the vids I posted 'Things I've built and lived in' has bit about Percy when I was building the A-frame: th-cam.com/video/qQRm_0pe7JY/w-d-xo.html I've also written a book; an adventure novel about Island Head, gold, sailing, alchemy and stuff you wouldn't belive... a very Queensland story
