Word lmao. I really don’t understand sometimes with them. The first time when they were describing the departure with 9th blowing up and them working in sessions with 9th just giving them cds of beats and then bouncing. I get it. I get where the animosity started. But this one is him wanting full input which is what they wanted from him before. So THEN 9th takes a little step back with saying ok I’ll do festivals and Flash do the other dates. The man has a label and artists. Y’all aren’t the same and he’s not the same as well. It’s just unfortunate how it turned out. But this wasn’t the same way as the departure last time. They wanted 9th more and then now when he steps back in, they still want to do their shit and he’s like well what did u want me for? Lol. He’s not a rapper. He breathes beats. Hundreds of beats a year. The man is a genius. I get where 9th is coming from on this one. And Phonte is also amazing as well in his realm as a producer. And Pooh too. But damn, everyone wishes they could’ve reached a compromise. This doesn’t seem like 9th’s fault at all on this one.

What are y’all talking about? To me 9th tried everything to be apart of this project. Even asking to dj at certain events so he wouldn’t take it fully away from dj Flash. It seems Phonte and Pooh weren’t impatient. There was an interview where he said, he needed 9th to send them beats that didn’t sound like little Brother tracks. And then Phonte started to listen to other producers beats and came to 9th like yeah let’s put other producers on the project. To me that’s messed up. If you decide before anything that it will be a reunion album with all 3 of you. Then why the hell would want other producers on the album? Leave that for solo projects. I can’t blame 9th for this one. He probably felt blind sided.

9th, you're in my top 5 of favorite producers. And Little Brother is my 2nd favorite Duo/group of all time. Only behind A Tribe called Quest. But to demand no other producer be allowed on this record is a bit too much. Little Brother has succeeded without you for the last decade and will continue to do so. Now to play devils advocate......Perhaps the vision you had in your mind was, This is a reunion album so it should just be us three on the record. "Let's make it how it used to be". Fair enough, but Little Brother owes it success not just to you but to the other producers that have blessed us with their sounds. I hope you three can come to some type of resolution where we can get that CLASSIC 9th wonder, Big Pooh and Phonte sound once more. Keep the peace and dialogue open gentlemen.

I'll preface my comments by saying I'm a big fan of both 9th and Phonte. But I'm confused about Phonte's issue with 9th here. He says he needed 9th to be all the way in or all the way out when it comes to touring. But Phonte also wanted other producers involved in the album, meaning 9th wouldn't be as present throughout the album as Phonte and Pooh.
So if you tell 9th you don't want him 100% involved in the music-making, why is it an issue if he's not 100% involved in the touring? It sounds like Phonte wanted to dictate 9th's involvement. I want to hear 9th's take on things though before I judge either of them.

They all was Justus League! Amazing Talent too! Something tells me she was like the rest, she wanted that slice of fame in the sky. She continued making mixtapes, EP’s even done her first album back in 2012! Which I thought was great but it didn’t reach that status til her second album and third which she got on Roc Nation signed to one of her favorite icons “Jay-Z”! When you in the industry? You in deep but I think she’s in the spot where J Cole is in a way. You might not see him on Social Media or news about him but he just be dropping music and doing shows. So I see 9th's point of view based on what Phonte said.
Tay thinks that since he and Pooh held LB down while 9th was gone, they have every right to recruit other producers to include in the album.
9th probably sees that as a slight. Like, hey, if I'm 1/3 of LB, and I'm playing role of producer, the songs have to be mine.
Obviously, Phonte and Pooh are hurt about the past. I doubt it fully got resolved, and it manifested in this way.
This was like a conditional invite on the basis that 9th has less of a say going forward.
    That's unfair to 9th IMO.
As a fan, I wish they could have hashed it out. I don't see why if the beats weren't resonating with Tay/Pooh, that 9th couldn't have adjusted/iterated.

Okay.... So here’s the problem I have with this position Phonte has. Silence speaks louder than words. From the way 9th hasn’t spoken on this leads me to believe that Phonte made this issue explode the way it has. Right or wrong, if my man didn’t come out and sh*t on me in public, why would I turn around and do it to him if there wasn’t some up angle I was leveraging for. Premier was right to call Phonte out on it. It’s some ego sh*t going on. Imagine Gangstarr with outside beats. Imagine Pete Rock & CL Smooth with outside beats. There is a distinct change to the chemistry. Also... If the group is Little Brother, why does Phonte and Big Pooh get to have their raps on every song.... but 9th can’t make the beats for every song? Phonte... something smells like bullsh*t over there. Furthermore, if there was a song here or there that was produced outside, why not A&R it completely? Why not let 9th bring his beats to the table and bring the outside producers beats to the table AND ALL 3 MEMBERS OF LITTLE BROTHER CHOOSE COLLECTIVELY? Phonte used the proper analogy. This is about papa space. Who is the leader and who is the follower. And in Phonte’s mind it’s him. Ego sh*t is all over everything Phonte is saying. All I know is that if I was 9th, I’d sever all business ties with that whole crew. This is some ego sh*t.
