@@PopTap It’s unfortunate, but it might be better to try and build credit sooner than later. Having no credit history is risky to landlords when you try and lease an apartment, so it probably wouldn’t hurt to try and use a credit card sorta like a debit card (only spend money you have and can pay off).

Tip: Don't use a credit card if you're not able to pay it off at the end of the month. Interest rates for any credit card is insanely high and not paying off your bills will hurt your credit score.

Easier ways of building credit btw.
I put everything except rent on credit (and that’s because there would be a giant fee for putting rent on it). There are no annual fees and I pay it off every month in full, so no interest either. I get 1-5% back on every purchase and am slowly building credit. It’s not much but if I can get basically a 5% discount here and there, why not?

I mean good for you, but a credit card is just as easy as a debit card, and you get reward points. Just pay it off in full every month and there’s no down side compared to a debit card, only positives. It builds credit, you get reward points/cash back, and if it gets stolen the money isn’t taken directly from your account. Just something to consider

Here's my tip; If you are a student, do not get a credit card. Chances are, a debit card will be more than enough for your needs. As a general rule of thumb, Only spend what you have/make.

Monthly spending limits are lower on a student card, if you go above 30-40% of your credit limit, it negatively affects your credit score.
